The wood carvings, the wallpaper, lamps, statues, and other decor really bring me back in time. The food for the luncheon was delicious; I had a garden salad to start and chicken with mushroom ravioli for my main entree. The bartenders at the luncheon were also very friendly. Shoutout to Mikey! He always has a smile and is always welcoming.

As one would expect, the building itself is stunning. Others have written volumes, literally, about the architectural detail and storied history of the landmark. I will leave you to read those accounts since I'm not an expert. For an event venue, this was very nice. We were directed by signs to the event room, which felt a little impersonal, but effective. After climbing the stairs we found ourselves in a ballroom. There were catering tables at one end with hot and cold appetizers. They were all okay, but nothing extraordinary. My favorite were the cheese curds. The dessert table had a good variety of cookies and brownies. Again, this was basic catering fare, nothing great. They also offered soft drinks, coffee and water. I noticed people carrying glasses of wine and wandered off to find a bar. I struggled to find a person on the ground floor, but eventually a woman directed me to the bar on the ground floor. I was told there's another in the basement. They had a fairly impressive selection of bourbon and whiskies and the like. I ordered two good, but pretty overpriced Manhattans. Although the bar was empty, except one other customer, the bartender was a little slow. All said this is a stunning venue and I'd certainly attend other events held here.

Recently, my employer set up a volunteer day with HTF and I was really happy to participate! My…read morereview pertains to that side of things, not using their services. We arrived for a 3 hour shift which was to pack food boxes for seniors. There were two other companies there as well, so we had a good number of people to get the job done! Overall, they were very organized, energetic and motivating and answered any questions we had. At first I thought, how will this work with everyone knowing what to do? But you know what, the way they do it everything just moved along like a well oiled machine. People helped each other without asking and we just kept on packing those boxes. At the end, I think we did 925! They do require everyone stop for a 20 minute break halfway through and encourage you to stay hydrated. I'd highly recommend this as a volunteer opportunity with an employer group or even solo or with your family. What they offer the community is well needed and it's an rewarding experience.

I spent time volunteering, packing boxes, it was great to know that the work we were doing was going straight out to the community. The team is so dedicated and so helpful. Coming from Madison as a heavy participant in Madison sports and social club I was excited when…read moregoogle turned up a Milwaukee equivalent. Excitement turned to apprehension though as it was quickly apparent that much of the website was out of date. Many of the sport specific league pages have little to no information and it looks like many of the listed sports don't actually have active leagues. After looking through the options we finally decided to sign up as free agents for touch football. I quickly get an automated email saying I've signed up and will be contacted soon. Weeks pass until finally very soon before the season is supposed to start my fiancé gets an email saying the season is starting that week and he's on the free agent team, but I get nothing. I email the address that sent me the auto-response to ask if I'm on a team and they say yes, show up Thursday for your game. Thursday comes and we show up only to be told this is actually a practice for the free agents. This is clearly just an excuse for poor management and trying to create a league with 3 teams. My fiancé continues to get day of emails about games while I do not, even after asking (in person and via email) weekly to be added to the list. It's difficult to plan when you don't know what time you will be playing until hours before the game. Because of the three team league with the free agent team clearly by far the worst everyone basically decides it's not worth it to keep playing. I think we ended up playing about 3 weeks and one scrimmage yet were still charged the full $53. This seems absurd to me. There is no way the league should have been run with only three teams in the first place but at the very least we should've been charged a discounted price for a very shortened (and poorly organized league). I will certainly never be signing up for another MSC league even with the promise that the free agent team could do a different league for free.
