1/13/22 - 7:15PM Old school, single room bar with a lot of style. Cheap beer ranging from $2-$6. Full bar. Had a lesson from the owner himself on the history of the bar, great story. Pros: BOWLING ALLEY in bar Touch Tune connectivity Free popcorn Cons: CASH only NO ATM!

Cool ass bar & bowling!!

Place is amazing! Tom and Cathy are so much fun! We learned about shotskis! All the locals are very friendly and highly recommend for any out of town ers to check this place out! We had a blast

The one and only Holler House!

This place is classic South Side Milwaukee. The oldest bowling alley in the US. Wood bar with tin ceiling. In the back is a complete kitchen, and probably a full apartment owned by the owners - who still live upstairs. I'd not been here since 1981, so when I have someone who is a new audience, time to go back! Popped in here last night, and it hadn't changed. Lotta Polish stuff (we are on 21st and Lincoln, don'cha know) and memorabilia on the walls. No tap beer, Schliz comes in bottles! Women's bras hang from the ceiling - what? I think that fad has passed . . . but apparently not here on Milwaukee's wacky South side!

Best and oldest!

In the bowling alley, you can play Touch Tunes, but we ended up forgoing the music and just enjoying the games and camaraderie.

All I came here for was mini bowling, and I got that in spades. It was a Sunday night, so two lanes were open with no reservation needed. I opened a tab at the bar, headed back to the awaiting lanes, and proceeded two bowl a couple games in quick succession. Unless you have a large crew, there won't be much sit and wait time, like on a regular lane. Note that it is manual scoring. They do provide a cheat sheet to help with this, and it may help as well to number your frames, just in case you get lost in all the up and down. Since it is residential, you might have to circle the block a few times to find parking, but don't let that deter you. A walk back to the car might be the perfect excuse to stop by the food truck across the street.

Location is a little sketchy, and this is definitely a dive bar at its finest, but the real star of the show is the duck pin bowling located in the back. For those not familiar, it's a much shorter, elevated lane than regular bowling. Select from different weighted, softball size balls and roll it down the lane. It's much easier than regular bowling and scores tend to be high, so it's a nice ego boost and tons of fun! And instead of a machine re-racking the pins, there are teenagers that sit back there to set them up. Tips: Cash only for the bowling which is $5 dollars a person. Make sure to tip your pin setters! Its best to call in advance to reserve a lane, but walk ins welcome. There are four lanes and you can rent one or more for an hour and a half each. They bowl super late, and is an awesome spot to hang out with a group and play a few rounds! Come knock some pins down at this legendary spot!

We visited on a Tuesday and tickets were only $8! Not sure if that was just a special, but seems damn cheap compared to typical visits to a movie theatre. The seats were comfy as can be - couch style, recline all the way back, and are headed! We saw the F1 movie (which was fantastic), and the whole surround sound system here made it that much more enjoyable. If you're looking for something beyond popcorn, candy, and sodas, they do have a restaurant attached where you can get apps, entrees, and alcoholic drinks to-go (i.e. to take into the theatre with you). I'm sure many folks in the area, like myself, are used to the Marcus Theatres where you can have food delivered to your seat, but just a heads up that isn't the case here. Seemed a bit understaffed overall, as lines were long and service was pretty darn slow, but everything we purchased hit the spot. I mean who doesn't love buttery popcorn at the cinema!?

It makes for such a nice experience. I didn't interact with the staff much only because I don't get popcorn. It was easy peasy! An overall good experience and I would definitely return.
