Landmark has such an awesome vibe! I was staying at the hotel across the street and with nothing to do except coming here - I went! Mickey "like the mouse," is awesome! Super fun and polite and a jack of all trades.... She's tending a full bar and making food in the kitchen all while providing great service. Make sure you tip her well! Great bear selection I had the III Dachshunds IPA and Amber Ale. Both brewed by the former owner's son, both delicious what I loved most about the bar was the architecture and craftsmanship inside. It's really what makes the bar great. Next time I'm in Milwaukee and close to the airport, I will make it a point to stop by here for a cold one and some cheese curds! read more

What a hidden gem! I stopped into this tavern expecting a casual bite and a drink, but walked out seriously impressed. Not only is it the oldest tavern in the area -- which gives it a cozy, historic vibe -- but the staff couldn't have been friendlier. You instantly feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. Now let's talk about that thin crust pizza... hands down one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, loaded with flavor, and cooked just right. The food overall was spot-on, but that pizza? Wow! This is the oldest bar in Wisconsin. The peer is great, the service is better . And the floors are original!

We went for our Friday fish fry and to our surprise, they are no longer serving fish fry. They mainly offer pizza during business hours.

Fish fry was ok, shrimp was good, but we were disappointed with the fries. It was such a small portion and they were soggy. The old fashioned was good and bartender was very nice. Very cool old school feel and really easy to find parking in their lot. read more

This is a great place. I had the spicy jalapeno and peach pizza. Well cooked and priced! I had four beers. The bartender was awesome as she indulged my IPA preference for round one, and was also a great guide on the subsequent local brews. There were many locals in the bar and at the same time it was very welcoming :). Slamming of dice (Yatzee?) on a bar table that's been there for 175 years and karaoke = a mellow, warm environment. I'm so happy that the Landmark is open again! This was my go-to place at the airport and when it closed, I was very sad. Now under new ownership, Joel and Linda are doing amazing work to revitalize this historic tavern. It's much brighter and the hospitality, beverages, and food are top notch. Ok. So I went there on a whim on a day off from my latest work trip and was I surprised!! So this place is recently reopened and all I can say is drop in as soon as you can!!! This place is fantastic! Some would say, "Hey, isn't! This just another dive bar???", and in this case they would be wrong. This is a great bar. Yes, unassuming. Yes, mainly a beer type bar. But it is a darned fun place. I did not have any food, but listening to the other patrons talk their food was awesome too!! Please just go there. Wonderful historic building and great local peeps! First cheese curds & Spotted Cow in Wisconsin this trip. Loved the deep fried mushrooms and Belgian Trappist Monk Chimay Beer too. So happy to see them reopen. They've made some excellent improvements but kept this beloved historic establishment authentic and original. Be sure to check out the gorgeous tin ceiling in the bar. I worked at the airport for 3 weeks and found this place one day, heard it was the oldest bar in Milwaukee, so I had to check it out. Best thing that happened to me finding this place, spent more time and money over that time but worth every dollar spent. Linda the bartender/owner super sweet, can make any drink, great pours, great shots, the pizzas are awesome and like 12 bucks! She makes food like almost everyday she works that she provides for free! Wings are excellent, brats decent, it blows my mind she does this, she really loves her customers. Karaoke is a blast, Sundays game days are fun, plenty of TV', space and history in this old 1850's building. If I lived here, Id be here 5 days a week. I cant say enough great things about this place. They say its haunted as well if thats your thing. Stop in and check out the huge selection of drinks and beers, you wont be disappointed. We arrived at the landmark at 6:35 for the fish fry. Didn't seem real busy but we noticed that no one in the seating area had food. We ordered at 6:50 and at 7:15 we one table get their pizza. We overheard the waitress tell other folks that the kitchen was backed up. At 7:25 I asked for a status report on our order. At 7:33 the waitress told us are selection of fish was not available but we could order something else. I told her we were cashing out and paid for our drinks. Our first time back since the new ownership. It's improved with seating and lighting. We will not be back for food. read more

We've been there a couple of times now since reopening. Very cool old bar, great service and really good food. They have a really good selection of tap beer, a number of craft beers, and imports, as well as bottled beers. And of course a full bar. We had their pizza last week. Thin crust, really crispy, and really good. On our previous visit we had the fish fry, also excellent. They now service lunch so food is available all day. Highly recommended. read more

Just returned from the newly opened Landmark 1850 Inn had the cod fish fry. Thinking i was going to get an average fish fry, it was excellent. The fish was perfectly cooked, not greasy and fish was moist and not at all mushy or over cooked and dry like i have had at other places. Probably due to the fact that all pieces were the same size so they all cooked the same. Fish was well seasoned, maybe just a touch to much salt but better that then being bland. I choose the sweet potato fries as a side and they were waffle cut and very tasty. Served with marble rye and a cup of coleslaw, easily the best cod fish fry I have had in a long time. read more
