If I were to title this review it would be Came for the Trivia, Stayed for the Drinks. What a nice atmosphere! It's your basic corner bar, with fast and friendly service. We had such a good time here! It's an historic Milwaukee tavern, originally built in 1872 as a union hall for the iron workers, hence the name "Puddler's". The bar area is small and then opens up to a huge hall where they have a lot of events. Definitely a go-to spot and a great place to take out-of-towners. read more

Cheap drinks and a great space to watch the Packers. A good place to meet up before you hit up Three Brothers just down the street, or any of the other nearby watering holes. 72/2023 read more

True local spot. Came to play ping pong and grab a drink. Affordable, and lively. Back room is spacious and has ping pong, darts and foosball. Big projector for playing sports as well. Came during a NHL final and it was busy but great. Heard nothing but good things about the bartenders as well. read more

Cool vibe. I learned what a Puddler is. Anita made the best Manhattan. We'll be back. read more

Love Puddlers Hall! From their neighbourhood block party to Monday night Trivia or just stopping by for a drink. It's a great place. Highly recommend read more

As previously noted, Puddlers Hall is a homey, dive bar. Drinks are cheap and the appropriate strength. The bartenders were friendly and quick. Good bar pizzas can be ordered, perfectly crispy. Spacious back room for live music, ping pong and darts. read more

How does it feel to walk into a building built in 1872, filled with the voices and lives of Puddlers and Boiler union members of the original Milwaukee Ironworks, and subsequent generations of tavern keepers and social groups and patrons? The dark wood holds their spirit. There is a close feeling of many kinds. Everyone is friendly. My family and I attended a Geeks and Trivia event. My Las Vegas family were in awe of the history and friendliness. It was a fun event... Libations are affordable and delicious. While fancy martinis are not on view, there's a respectably diverse selection of liquor in addition to beer. In honor to the hard working people whose work boots wore the floor smooth, try a "boilermaker" (beer and a shot). The neighborhood and the building are living history. Enjoy! read more

One of the best bars in Milwaukee with the coolest bartenders. This place oozes character. The Milwaukee Guitar Club meets here on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month starting a 7:00 pm to play songs together, read more

Man, if I lived in the Bay View I would go to Puddler's a lot more often. This joint is one fine establishment. Part dive-ish, part chill and a whole lotta fun all rolled up into a powerhouse of entertainment. Where else can you enjoy a Packers game like the way you can at Puddler's... Yes, I'm sure there are more than a few good spots to get your game on in Milwaukee but Puddler's is oh so spacious and cozy home like it hurts. Whether it be strolling through the neighborhood or coming to watch any Wisconsin specifically or any other team that happens to be on, this place serves it up correct. Good food, great drinks and multiple TV's from inside to out it's on at this joint. Ask for your Bloody Mary spicy and get with Bourbon or maybe kick back and play ping pong... Choice is yours. Puddler's Hall is as good as a day in Wisconsin as it could get! read more

Puddlers Hall - Game day! Go Lions! - Bars Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This has become my go to bar for Packer games, and I'm not even that into football. I'm here for the environment and the amazing spread of food they put out for their customers. Lots of bars provide food or have potlucks during games but Puddlers takes it to the next level, cheeseburgers, brats, sausages I don't know the names of, wings, pizza, chips and salsa, baked beans, ice cream- it's all so good! Their bloody Mary's are also excellent coming with the cheese whips, sausage, pickle, pickled green bean, olive, something else and your choice of chaser, $5 so good! I can also recommend karaoke. I believe it has now moved to Sundays, 11am-3pm. They have other specials that you should check out during the week. read more

Puddlers Hall - Game day spread, needs to be refilled because we devoured the food so good - Bars Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

My husband and I go here all the time. One of my favorite local bars. Great prices, awesome bartenders, and ping pong. They also have a large projector and free food during Packers games! It does get busy, so get there early. It is one of the oldest bars in Milwaukee and they have history all on the walls. So come on by to do a small gallery walk. Additionally, they have music shows with some local bands that are fun to see! read more

Puddlers Hall - Friday night local music! - Bars Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I live in Bay View and when Packer season rolls around there's only a handful of good places to watch the game. Just recently found out, I've been doing it all wrong, Puddlers is the place to be on Sundays. A generous selection of $3, $4, and $5 beers. Huge space with many TV's(including a giant screen in the back room and even a TV outside if you need to "get some air") Free food includes wings, burgers, brats, nachos, beans, and pizza. A nice size crowd was gathered there for the Packer game yesterday, but I wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly busy. Good find Liz A.!!! Thanks for the recommendation! read more

For the past three years, I have seen Puddlers Hall while driving on 794 almost every single day. I'm not really sure why it took me so long to finally check this place out, but this week I finally did, and I have to say, it took me by surprise. I guess I was expecting Puddlers Hall to be like any other townie bar - no-frills, cheap drinks, cool staff. And in many ways, Puddlers Hall is exactly that. What I didn't expect was the fascinating history behind the building. It's on full display around the main bar - lots of historic photos of Puddlers through the years, documenting the tavern's history in the union landscape of old Milwaukee, right down to the name "puddlers" itself. It's worth a trip to Puddlers Hall if for no other reason than to check out this cool, lesser known bit of the city's history. When I visited, it was 3pm on a Wednesday - not exactly prime drinking time. We were the only ones at the bar, but the bartender was friendly and made us drinks that he promised would get us drunk. He wasn't wrong. And at $5 a drink, what's there to complain about? read more

Best bar in Milwaukee! Love this place. Bar tenders and customers are awesome. Happy hour prices are great Great place to relax and have fun! read more

Loved. Packers game food spreed was amazing and everyone is friendly. Perhaps my favorite hole in the wall.

Puddler's Hall has become me and my wife's favorite local bar. Ping pong, nice bartenders, reasonably priced drinks and even free food during Packers games! It's the second oldest bar in Milwaukee and you can give yourself a history lesson in the back room, reading captions under the framed photos of the Bay View founders (who I'm sure had meetings and even a brew or two inside these very walls. Monday nights they host Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night, Tuesdays is open Jam night with Milwaukee Guitar Club, Wednesdays is Beer Runners and Whiskey Walkers, Thursdays is for the ping pong club. Sometimes there is even live music on the weekends. Come check it out! read more

Puddlers Hall - Packers vs. Cowboys, week 6 of the 2016 season - Bars Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I love the bartenders, amazing that they have plenty of TVs to watch the games, weekly events now starting up again soon(hopefully summer 21) ping pong, sometimes they have gumbo or brisket specials, come early!! read more

Cheap drinks and free popcorn!!! I do love a place with self-serve popcorn :) The owners let us use their space for an official Beerleader meeting, it was perfect. They have tvs around the bar. The bar area itself is not overly huge but the next room over is large and has a stage. There are a few tables and chairs as well as a couple ping pong tables. They have lots of windows, which is a nice change from your typical window-less townie bar. The bartenders were friendly and the place was overall clean. Thanks again! read more

My friends and I popped in for ONE that turned into many plus a cheesy pretzel. I love the historical charm of the place, plus it smelled like Murphy's oil soap, which was nice. The bartender was friendly and attentive, although I wasn't crazy about my bloody Mary. It was on the oddly sweet side but they're such a subjective drink that I can't hold it against them. The drink prices were more than fair and they have a spacious hall area with ping pong and a rousing weekly meeting of Dungeons and Dragons aficionados. The food menu is small but just enough to feed your case of the munchies. read more

Puddlers Hall - Sunday Funday! - Bars Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Because Puddlers is a little off the beaten path I don't think it gets the attention it deserves. Think of Puddlers Hall as local Bay View/Milwaukee history meets booze. You can justify day drinking because this place is historic...second oldest bar in Milwaukee and a old union gathering place. If anybody asks what you were doing you can tell them you were learning about important Milwaukee history...just leave out the beer part. Puddlers is a large space with ping pong and darts in the back hall. The main bar section is not huge but the back hall has seating as well. Puddlers is a cozy bar with friendly bartenders who don't mind shaking some dice. After you hit Goodkind and are all hipstered out walk on over to Puddlers for a shot and a beer and you won't be disappointed. read more

You can see Puddlers Hall from 794 and I always wondered what it was. Was pleasantly surprised! It's a great relaxed hang with a good Internet type jukebox, pool tables and booths. Good selection of beers! read more

I just visited, and it seems this place just changed hands so things may change a bit over time. The place had a small bar right when you walk in then a larger back room with a small stage and some pingpong tables. The places is clean and a little sterile. Not a lot of vibe or feel. It also seemed pretty damn bright in there for me. I dropped in to see some buddies who were out and the people in the bar and the bartender were all super cool. The beer selection was nice with your usual suspects surrounded by a few from left field. Nice choices. I was only there for about an hour, but I would definitely stop in again. read more

This is my Friday place. Love it. All of the bartenders; Win, Brent & Dana are awesome! Funny, entertaining, quick to serve, make recommendations, win at dice and all of the rest that make bartenders great!! The beer selection is lengthy, the crowd welcoming and the regulars are the best. Free ping pong, frequent games of cribbage, and the best beef jerky a bar can carry (made by a local vet). And although they don't have a full kitchen they do have pizza, hot pretzels and a few other options to choose from. Great local secret! read more

Nice little bar in the Bay View area. The bartenders are nice and the service is great. There is a relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming. There are ping pong tables in the back just in case you ever get bored. Come here if you want to have a relaxed time with a variety of alcoholic choices. read more

Tipped the bartender $3 for a $4 drink, then immediately overheard him telling some old dude how I was killing his mood. Not sure why this particular male bartender was so nasty... read more

The pictures do it justice. Great place with a good Milwaukee heritage. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. No feeling like an idiot standing at the bar trying to get recognized here! Perfect pricing, tasty popcorn! The food tour stops by ever so often bringing a new crowd in every-so-often. The crowd is really a mix of people in the best way, how most bars should be! Twenty-somethings, suburban parents on the tour of the city, dog owners, and every definition of "Bay View people". Everyone tightly packed in and beyond friendly with everyone. I haven't had their food but it looks pretty decent. Ping pong in the back, or as it was the last time I was there: tennis ball throwing arena. read more

A nice nod to the neighborhood's history. It used to be a dreadful place called Marty's Party, but a few years ago someone restored it and turned into a decent corner bar. Definitely a different vibe than the other bars in the area, but that's not a bad thing. I heard they were going to add food service but I haven't been there recently. read more

So legit. So legit. I'd give anything if Puddlers Hall would up and move to San Francisco so I could become a regular. A great selection of beers, friendly staff and patrons, free popcorn, free ping-pong. A dive in the very best way. read more

Hidden gem. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's the exact kind of bar you want to go to with your closest friends, relax, and throw back a few. They have a full bar and a solid beer selection. Good prices, and a super friendly wait staff makes this place a regular stop on our bar rotation. read more

The owner is amazing. Nice to see someone care about the history of bayview. Bartenders are all incredible. Brit is the dreamest of all. Beers and cocktails are a steal. Happy hour features a buck off of taps and tall rails. Great place for a cocktail and a game of cribbage. read more

Honestly, the best bar in Milwaukee for Packers games. Very welcoming, spacious environment with complimentary snacks and friendly bartenders. read more

Probably the worst bar I've ever been to. This place also does not care who they hire. I gave this bar a second chance hoping that it was just the bartender that was bad at their job the first time, but it's actually every bartender that doesn't know what they're doing. The first time I went, the bartender would disappear for +10 minutes at a time. The second time I went, the bartenders on this tuesday night were horrible. Speaking as a bartender, the person working did not seem like they wanted anyone there; and also projected that working a Tuesday night was nearly impossible to accomplish. I would recommend spending your money somewhere where they serve a smile and proficient Bartending skills. read more

Best bar in Milwaukee to watch a Packers Game. The atmosphere in this bar is amazing. Right away you feel welcomed as the owner is outside grilling up burgers and brats and the bar is packed with a ton of awesome people. There is plenty of space to sit and watch the game. The drinks are great, and most importantly, cheap. Best part of this bar is that they provide food during halftime. The food is always outstanding and it feels like you are hanging out at a buddy's place. I also love that it is dog friendly. Definitely a hidden gem! read more

Jamie is hands down the greatest bartender ever. Come to Puddler's on Tuesday and Thursday for the Jamie show, and every other night for a great time in a public house. But seriously Thursday night is dollar Pabst night. read more
