Checked out bay view bowl and man was it busssyyyyy. I think due to the Christmas break and people being on vacation resulted in it being so packed on a Thursday. I asked the worker and he said it usually is not as busy. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back because it was great fun! The three stars was due to the bartender not being the friendliest and the lanes had some issues with them. I would go here if you are looking for a fun activity to do! read more

I can't say I loved the bowling because the pins seemed more plastic than other bowling alleys around the area like landmark lanes. The pins fell down more easily it seemed and there were two delays with the pins for our lane which was annoying. Only one guy at the front desk could add bowlers to lanes and they spelled our names wrong. It was just disorganized to bowl with a group of people. They do have a special on Sundays that games, shoes, and miller lite is all $2. I did like how big it was and how they had pool and a bar area with cheap drinks. read more

We had such a good time at Bay View Bowl. We've walked past it countless times and said "we really need to go there," and then we finally did! It did not disappoint. Glow Bowl from 9:30-midnight on Friday was a blast. They have vending machines with socks for $2.50 if you happened to wear sandals. Plus plenty of arcade games, and if you bowl a strike when the orange pin is in the 1 spot, you get to spin a wheel. So much fun and I can't wait to go back! read more

This is my neighborhood bowling alley, so I am likely to be a little bit more forgiving than a reviewer from outside Bay View. I love that BVB has 4 pound balls with four holes for little kids to use. The staff there is always great about offering to have one lane with bumpers for the kids and one lane without for the grown-ups. This makes bowling with little ones more fun for the adults. The drink prices are good and not expensive at all, and they are generous with garnishes for kiddie cocktails. For parents who bowl with children, this is a plus! The lanes sometimes get "stuck" which is annoying but to be expected with my 6 year old rolling the ball at 2 MPH. There are a few video games and a few machines that will dispense small candies or plastic junk. I ply my kid with the aforementioned kiddie cocktails to distract her and avoid giving all my money to the electric candy robots. I need that money for the occasional kid- free bowling date nights with the hubby. My only gripe is that I struggle to find an 8-9 pound ball that I can use here. I have big hands and weak wrists, so I am a tough fit. (Sorry for the TMI!) All around decent place to bowl and have a drink, and an asset in the area. read more

I effing love bowling. I really do, man. What's not to love about bowling? You get to quote lines from "The Big Lebowski" and drink beers with your friends. Sometimes, maybe you feel like taking it really seriously. Maybe you want to get awesome and score more than a 130. This doesn't happen for me often, but I try. Circa 2007, I was definitely in a "I'm going to be a super awesome bowler and take this really seriously" kind of phase. Not sure why. Having said that and being a knowledgeable ex-super serious but not very good bowler, I can attest to the fact that Bay View Bowl is pretty freaking fantastic. Why? -ample amount of lanes -equipment works great -balls/shoes are in no way jankey -pool/darts/foosball/etc. for those not so into the bowling, but into bar games -full bar w/ bar type food items if you so wish to partake -electronic scoring and it RECORDS THE SPEED AT WHICH YOU THROW THE BALL (all caps=yelling=this is my favorite feature of Bay View Bowl) Sundays feature two for one games, and open bowling, as far as I know. There are a ton of leagues at Bay View, but on any given night they're usually through by about 9. A bunch of years ago around Xmas time, I noticed they had GIANT SIZE Xmas stockings hanging on the wall. I was young and dumb and kind of drunk and took one down and put myself in it. So, yea - I like the Bay View bowl. It's the closest spot to my location, convenient, not excessively busy and allowed us to bowl on a weekend (i.e. didn't have leagues). It's a no frills, really, I mean you know - it's bowling! They have a full bar in front. Usually a couple specials. There's also a jukebox so you can play your favorite tunes. It's a bit tougher to find songs on the one they have where you have to search by artist or song name... but it's modern, anyway. BVB isn't super big but also not tiny and has the basic amenities one needs to get their bowl on. Can't comment about food, honestly there's so many great places in the area so I'd say eat before or after! read more

I liked this place. It felt divey and comfortable. On a Saturday night we had to wait a little while to get a lane but we didn't have trouble finding a couple tables to pull together to drink and talk (or rather yell because the music was suuuper loud). A couple of times the pin setter malfunctioned but they got it going again. We left after one round and our friends wanted to keep playing so we tried to close out and pay for our portion. The guy told us it was already paid for so we left. Uh, oops, it wasn't and our friend had to pay for us. There is a whole extra room full of arcade games but that didn't seem too popular on the night we were there. I'd be open to going back but I'd probably prefer Landmark. I like how it's laid out there better - you don't feel as far apart and separate from the bowlers if you want to hang back and watch instead of play. read more

I didn't bowl here but it looks like a decent place for bowling. The lanes are nice and seem to be in good repair. Plus, the computer automatically tabulates scores so if you're bad at math (like me) there are no worries. Over the last few months my girlfriend and I have been going bowling every Sunday. The first time we went to Bay View Bowl and had a blast! The young guy at the counter was cool - we got T-shirt's and everything. The second time we went back, the young guy wasn't there it was a much older guy.. he was extremely rude and said it was a long wait so we asked if we could leave our names with him and he'd call us if something opened while we played arcade games... about 45-60 minutes passed and we noticed people getting lanes before us. We decided to just checked in with him to see where we were on the list. He rolled his eyes and said he must have lost our names and we had to wait again, so we left and went bowling somewhere else. The next time we decided to go back one more time... maybe things would be different and the old rude guy wouldn't be working.. when we walked in it was him again.. we asked if we could get a lane and he was all frustrated at us right off the bat and told us we would have to wait a really long time because he was "really busy", completely dismissed us and walked off. We ended up leaving again and going to another place near by. This guy has made us really not want to go back - he's been consistently rude and angry towards us for no reason.. I thought it was maybe just with us but after reading a handful of comments, it seems like this guy does it all the time... it's really unfortunate. read more

Something about shiny, polished wood really does it for me. Add balls, and I'm alllllll set! Bowling is a great group activity, even if some or all of your group really suck at it. If you are not so good at bowling, I've found a couple pitchers of beer make you WAY or better, or less likely to give a F. Bayview Bowl is a great place! Electronic scoring is pretty cool, especially once you've had a few drinks. I'm really bad at sober math, so drunk math is like, rocket surgery, or something. We have become regulars at least once a month in the winters here to go bowling with my family. Is it the most glamorous bowling alley? No. But honestly that doesn't bother me. I prefer the old school feel. Sometimes things do mess up on the lanes and the guys do have to fix things but for how cheap it is to bowl here. I can't complain. Not to mention it's an older bowling alley. Compared to other alleys we e found it the cheapest in town! For those who are upset that they can't just walk in and get a lane right away.. come on now.. seriously? this place does have its days where it's extremely busy and others where it's dead, so generally I call a week ahead or stop in and check their availability because the guys generally are working their butts off with an old school system when it's busy. Generally my drinks have been well made and good here. I've never had an issue where I take a drink and go "is there any booze in here?" And the bartender are always super nice. read more

I dig this place! Kickin' it old school at the bowling alley. They only have 10 or 12 lanes because usually they have leagues until 9/930pm. Lots of video games, good jukebox, and cans of beer - holler! Oh wow what How do I live right by this and not frequent it? It reminds me of if you take any of the bowling alleys up north and cut them in half (or less). They have Bon Jovi playing, there's pitchers of beer all around, and a wide variety of patrons. All ages up to a certain point. During the day, I've seen children. Four stars based on previous experiences. However.... Tried to arrange a gathering with a large (10+) group of folks for Moonlight Bowling. Called and spoke with someone at 10am. He stated no reservations. I mentioned the party size; nope. No way. Show up; first come first serve. Arrived 9:30 sharp. Oh. You should have called for reservations. Seriously? Maybe we could have shown up at 8:30-9 for a better spot, but please don't tell me I should have called. Hmm. Well, I don't know who was working but... Be consistent. We left. We had a lot of fun with a group of friends on a Sunday afternoon, when games, shoes, tappers and house drinks were all each 2$. We bowled three games and had a blast. We were almost alone when we arrived at 1 but it filled up eventually, mostly with other fun people. There was a bit of camaraderie across the lanes and cheering for everyone and everybody. We did have trouble with our balls frequently getting stuck in the machinery in the back, and having to get a staff person to go sort everything out. We actually changed lanes three times. We were told that everything needed to be cleaned back there. But we just used these pauses as opportunities to freshen our drinks. At these prices, can't complain too much. So after stopping at Landmark Lanes to find out that it's rented out for a private party from 7-10pm on a Saturday night (seriously?! the WHOLE place? ALL the lanes?!) we decided we really wanted to bowl and head over to Bayview Bowl. Yelp thought it didn't open until 9:30, but it was open when we got there at 8pm-ish. There were leagues, and reserved lanes, so we couldn't bowl right away, but Jeff at the counter said that he might be able to get us in a little bit later. 2 games of pool later, and after writing our name down on a piece of paper, we pop in to find out the deal, and Jeff asks us to write our names down. "But we already did" "Oh, i threw away that piece of paper. Sorry" It's okay, Jeff, we get it. You're pulled in a lot of directions, and a lot of people wanted to bowl. Luckily, we noticed some 8 year olds who were nearing their bed time, so we got to bowl around 8:30. 2 games, 2 shoe rentals - $18. Solid. I may have fallen down once. But it probably wasn't the fault of the floors. I'm just that person who falls. sometimes. often. That wouldn't stop me from going back. It's cheap, good clean fun. Great spot! Keep in mind, I love bowling, Wisconsin girl through and through. We popped in on a whim one Saturday night after a delicious dinner at Odd Duck. We didn't have to wait for a lane and the games were $4 a piece. We ended up bowling 2 games and the total with shoes and two New Glarus beers was $33. I got a fluorescent pin once but didn't get the strike I needed after going up to tell the prize man, ah well. After bowling we hung around a little longer and played some pinball. Convenient alley for Bay View residents. It's a bit small though, so you may have to wait. It's one of those neighborhood alleys. But there are places to just hang out and video games as well. The lanes are in pretty good shape. The music here can be annoying. read more

I love Bay View Bowl. Every one who works here is really nice from the owner to the bartenders to the guy whose always working the bowling. They make a pretty decent bloody mary, which is key for me b/c somehow bowling & bloodies is one of my favorite combos. I'll admit I have two stories that set my experiences with Bay View Bowl outside of the norm... The first was I hosted a special event here last year (Rock for the Ride). It was a charity event involving a couple bands, a silent auction, bowling etc. The owner was super easy to work with and they even worked with their vendors to get us a bunch more auction items. The owner was present at our event and was heavily involved with making it a success. The other time, I was bowling there about 2 years ago. A group was bowling next to us and finished while we were bowling. I didn't pay attention while they left, but the next time I went up to bowl, my ball was gone. That group was also long gone by that point. I thought it was stolen. I went to the guy working bowling who told the owner right away. She was super apologetic, took down all my info and told me they would buy me a new ball. In the end, a guy from the group came back a couple days later when he noticed he took the wrong ball, but the owners willingness to go the extra mile really stuck with me. For the casual person, here's what you need to know...good bowling with automatic scoring on lanes that don't break down much, nice bartenders who will pour you affordable & delicious drinks and lots of specials on bowling (2-for-1 games on sunday)..so yes, go! read more

This is my second time here and I always have fun. There is nothing fancy about the place, but the place is clean and the staff is nice. There is a big bar up front with reasonable drink prices. The bartender was really cool too. His name is Brad (I hope I got his name right). He found out we were celebrating a birthday and he gave the birthday boy a free shot. We definitely like that it is not overcrowded too. There is enough bowling lanes and no long waits to bowl. I may not live close by anymore, but it is nice to stop by again. read more

Nice lanes, super friendly owners. They have pool and lots of other games, if you don't bowl. I like the atmosphere and their equipment is in good working order. This was an awful bowling experience, after being charged 3.50 for a game and 2 dollars per person for shoes with a group of three people, a total of 9.5$ the old man at the desk stopped us before we left after one game saying we needed to pay him 7$ because it was 3.50$ a game per person something he didn't tell us before. I told him we were not paying as we were never told about this, he continued to tell me off and yell at me eventually screaming at me to get out while demanding my other two friends to stay and pay, we walked out and he called the cops. read more

Your classic Wisconsin bowling alley. Not too big and not too small; they do have electronic scoring, but no control/input on the lanes. The games are definitely cheap, which is nice, and there's a full bar. They also have a high-tech~ jukebox but since it's from a third party vendor, the staff isn't able to skip songs...we were in on a Saturday and waited through some weirddd tunes the Friday night crowd had plugged in before it got to the music our crowd had requested. There's definitely some maintenance/upkeep work to be done, but it's clean and the lanes are all good. It doesn't have some of the flash of more upgraded bowling alleys, but it's a nice, solid neighborhood joint. Plus, it has that adorable elephants and PBR mural outside! read more
