OMG! I rarely order enchiladas, but I will now come to Jalisco's every time I have a craving. They were the best enchiladas I've ever had! The dinner entree came with 3 enchiladas, rice, and beans. You can choose a different meat for each, so I did steak, ground beef, and chicken. Steak was my favorite, but they were all amazing! I think the sauce I chose is what made the meal standout! The server was really nice and explained each type of sauce to me. I chose the A la Pancha sauce, which is cooked on the enchilada instead of just poured over the top after cooking. I'm drooling just thinking about it! The restaurant was in a great location that is easy to get to right off the highway. It has a large parking lot. As an avid fan of Spanish food and who has worked in a Spanish restaurant- I cannot recommend this spot for Mexican. I feel incredibly bad writing this review, as I have a deep respect for the culture, cuisine, and traditions of those in the Hispanic/Spanish community... It was about 9 o'clock on a random Wednesday as I had just departed from a late film at The Oriental and I was starving- hoping Jalisco's would be the solution. I went with 2 chicken tacos and 1 beef taco with rice and beans- should be a staple right??? Well; If you love textures of food with no flavor, this spot is for you. I regret to inform you it was very much so not the solution... Stale chips, flavorless salsa, spicy salsa isn't spicy, chicken and beef is dry. Lack of flavor overall. It seems like there is a communication issue between staff members because I couldn't tell the difference between Bartenders and Servers. Too many cooks in the kitchen scenario... I was asked about 7 times if I had: a.) ordered food b.) ordered a drink (both yes) ((drink was 7 minutes late at an empty bar)) c.) needed anything (by the 5th time and 3rd server/bartender it was a bit much) If you enjoy true authentic Mexican cooking, steer clear. I found it odd that these tacos didn't come with a few slices of lime and a side of Cremè. I don't think I can actually count this place as authentic Mexican. Hopefully the rest of the menu is ok! Waitress was incredibly sweet (again I'm sorry- but not sorry for sending my plate back)! Atmosphere didn't make much sense, the space is quite large for the amount of customers served. This restaurant is nestled into a perfect location in Bay View right at the Lincoln Warehouse. With clear visual signs from the road, it's enticing to a driver to stop in. The interior is beautifully bright and decorated to authentic Mexican decor. There's plenty of tables, high tops, and a long bar and TVs to watch the game. As for the food, it was decent. Not definitively authentic and overall flavor somewhat bland. The chips and salsa that were complimentary were nice, but the salsa was quite spicy for a house salsa. My friend ordered the birria tacos and it was different than she's had before. The corn tortillas were super thick and chunky, so doubled-up, a bit too much and tore apart fairly easily. The tortillas also weren't dunked in the consumè - which is different than expected. Although, the consumè came on the side to dip. My other friend ordered a chicken jalapeno relleno, and at first it came out with no chicken, but the server quickly corrected it for her. The batter on the rellenos were pretty thick and kind of soggy. We both ended up pulling a lot of it off as it wasn't super pleasant to eat. The steak taco had nice flavor but again with the comment on the thickness of the corn tortillas was too much. We also ordered the queso with our chips and it came out with reheated cheese burns on it. It wasn't super tasty and we honestly shouldn't have ordered it because our food beat the queso to our table, so we were done with chips by then. Overall, the food was decent - but nothing to write home about. I think the location of this place will definitely sell itself. I probably would come back to give it another try, but probably not order the items I got tonight. read more

Jalisco's Cantina is a fairly new place in the old Lincoln warehouse. The space is great - full of light, bright and welcoming. There's a nice patio area too. The staff was plenty nice and the prices are fair but truthfully, the food is mid. My plate (taco dinner) arrived looking great with generously filled tacos but nothing had any real flavor. Despite being doubled up, my tortillas disintegrated immediately, creating quite the mess. Overall, it's not bad, but it's not good either. read more

We stopped in on rainy Saturday afternoon The first thing we noticed is the ambience is adorable. The waitstaff is very welcoming. I ordered the house margarita and it was a pretty decent drink. Jalisco's Cantina, located at the north end of the Lincoln Warehouse. is across the street from where I live. Miguel is the proprietor, and he worked at his dad's restaurant, Jalisco's, for decades. He knows how to run a Mexican restaurant. The expansive space is beautiful, with a large bar and a great beer and liquor selection. The menu has all the greats and some specialty items to pique your interest. My Enchiladas with mole were delicious with perfectly cooked beans and rice. The portions were so huge that I had them for dinner later that day. Soon, Miguel will have tables outside, and I know the Jalisco's Cantina will become an integral part of our neighborhood. Drove past & was so excited to see something go into this area that was once just an abandoned area. Walking in, we were greeted promptly & sat at a clean, bright table with a window view. Love that this restaurant doesn't have the tiny, 2 top tables that easily gets overcrowded. The complimentary chips & salsa were tasty, as were the house margaritas. As with all "new to me" Mexican places, I ordered the steak taco dinner. The rice & beans were flavorful, the tacos were loaded with fresh toppings. The steak itself lacked seasoning but with added salsa tasted just fine. We were checked on often, service was excellent. I truly hope this establishment succeeds. Our new favorite Mexican place in Milwaukee! This restaurant is authentic yet has great fresh ingredients. My friends enjoyed their margaritas and I loved my pork quesadilla. We decided to order the cheese curds out of curiosity and wow, they were some of the best we've had in a while believe it or not. It came with a sweet chipotle sauce that was a great pairing. Quality is good drinks on the other hand was really good. Ambiance very spacious with a few outside tables. Absolutely delicious, authentic Mexican food and great lunch prices with healthy portion size. The wait staff saw me turning my head to watch the game on TV and they offered to change the other TV for me so I wouldn't have to turn. My wife was undecided between different salsa's so the waitress offered to bring her a sample of each so she could decide. Very cool ambiance and lots of locals as customers. We will be back when we come back to Milwaukee! Btw, I saw some other reviews about the food being bland, I don't think so. The food was extremely flavorful and authentic. We wanted to try someplace new and stopped in here. Once inside, I thought I liked the look and feel of the restaurant, nice and bright and sunny. Our waitress was friendly and super attentive. There was so much variety on the menu it was hard to choose. I got the enchiladas with mole. The chicken and shredded beef enchiladas were very good, the steak one a little tough to chew and not much flavor. The mole sauce itself was great; they totally dialed it in, not too sweet, not too smoky, not overpowering cinnamon, like some places, but balanced well. The rice and beans were flavorful and perfectly made. I thought it was a little pricey. I've personally never seen guacamole at "market price" like it was lobster. But the portions are really big, so all in all a good value. The margaritas were very tasty, as well. It seems like a nice location and a good place to bring visiting relatives and friends. read more

Great new restaurant in Bayview's Lincoln Warehouse. They did a fantastic job building out this new restaurant space. Tons of seating. Large windows, plenty of light. Full menu and every tequila you could want. We had cucumber margarita pitcher which was fresh and tasty. Ordered Chicken Mole with white meat (comes with dark on menu, but waitress happily changed to white meat). It was delicious! Service was friendly and helpful. Will definitely put this in rotation for our Mexican dinners out. Plus lots of happy hour drink special (2-6pm). read more

The food and the ambience were great! Nice thick homemade tortilla chips accompanied by some yummy salsa. We got steak and al pastor tacos, ground beef chimichanga, and steak enchiladas for dinner. Everything was good except the ground beef chimichanga was giving Taco Bell. The server Jazmine was super nice as well as the bald guy with no name tag! Brand new restaurant, only open about a week or so! A lot of good things going for it like beautiful interior space, outdoor seating area to come, great margaritas, fantastic salsa and chips, and a parking lot so they can have lots of customers and I hope they do very well in this location. Being a vegan and a vegetarian, we usually have very good luck finding entrees on Mexican menus, so we popped in without doing our normal research on a new place to see if they had anything on the menu that was vegan/vegetarian. Unfortunately, their menu had no items for us. But we didn't give up - we asked our server if they could possibly make us a burrito, mine without any dairy, and my boyfriend's with cheese and sour cream. They said yes! She said they could use faijta vegetables. So we were off to the races. While we waited we had delicious salsa with chips, and two very, very good margaritas, peach and regular. The peach was slushy and the regular was on the rocks - both done to perfection and tasted fresh, not made from concentrates. And bonus - they came without plastic straws! Instead they had the lovely recyclable straws. Good on them!!! Now for things that need improving: the space was very loud - there is no soundproofing in the ceiling and while there were only 4 other patrons in the restaurant, the sound of their laughter coupled with the TV sports playing made the space hard to converse in. I can only imagine how loud it's going to be when the place is packed. For some reason we had two different servers waiting on us (were we supposed to give double the tip?), and when our burritos came, they came without utensils. They were very large and I was wondering if we were supposed to eat them with our hands, like at Taco Bell. We didn't wait to find out, so we asked for utensils and they came wrapped in paper napkins, a fork and a butter knife. Luckily, the flour tortilla the burrito was wrapped in was thin, so it was easily cut with the butter knife, I didn't have to struggle with it. My burrito was indeed vegan, but my boyfriend's burrito came vegan also, even though he ordered it with cheese and sour cream. There was none to be found inside or outside. The interior contained a lot of green lettuce, onions, peppers, and tomato. No rice or beans. I poured the salsa on top and dug in. That really, really made the burrito tasty - I highly recommend using the salsa as a topping. For dessert, my boyfriend ordered some cheesecake with strawberries on top and he said it was very good, although it came with two plastic forks. $50 for the whole shebang. So for us, this new restaurant was just OK. They'll get better with age, I'm sure, so I'm hoping one day they'll have vegan items on the menu, soundproofing, utensils that come with your entree, and drop the plastic. read more

Really great food and drink! I've been a fan of Jalisco's for decades. It's been a staple in the community as long as I can remember so I was excited to try their new cantina. Loved how colorful and festive the art was-atmosphere was perfect, location is convenient and easy to access. Plenty of parking. The service was excellent. The waitress was really attentive and let us take our time without feeling rushed. Forgot to get a pic of my meal but I had the shredded beef burrito and it was delicious! I would like to start out by saying our server was very kind and understanding. For a restaurant that just opened I would have thought that the owner would have had more understanding about hiccups. I was charged $170 for a $73 dollar bill and I gave a 20% tip. I would have given more, but I will tell you why I didn't. We sat at a table that can see into the kitchen. My daughter noticed that the cook toping the tacos wasn't wearing gloves. Don't get me wrong I understand that we don't see into a lot of kitchens, but when you see it, it's different. So we asked if the cook could put on gloves. First we got the talk about hand washing and how good the cooks are about hand washing. As a nurse living in a city where virus runs rampid, and understanding the regulations behind requirements for a cook line staff... this made me and my daughter nervous. They did eventually tell the cook to put on gloves. We thanked them for that. The 2nd things was that I didn't get my debit card when I got my check back. I had to wait for the server to find my card. She was apologetic so I gave her a good tip. Now this is the kicker... I was charged twice for my meal. This was not a hold on my card for clearance. This was a total of $170. Confirmed with the bank. I called and spoke with the server and she told me that this happens because their was something wrong with the system and its happened before. This came from the staff!!! Just keep that in mind. I called back and spoke to the owner and he literally told me he wouldn't look at the bank statement, wouldn't talk to the bank, and would not refund me my money. Well excuse the hell our of me huh. I called and was very understanding that they just opened 3 weeks ago... I would have thought as an owner or manager there can be a solution to fixing a problem, especially if the customer is willing to prove their deu diligence. There always a start up hiccup right... not this guy though and the arrogance was mind blowing. So I won't be going back because I don't like knowing that the kitchen staff don't wear gloves, they are refusing to take accountability for their mistake. Mind you I was willing to drive 20 minutes to speak in person, call the bank with him to confirm and he can have a conversation with the bank so they can confirm with him it WAS NOT A PENDING CLEARANCE CHARGE. The statement of I've have restaurants before menad nothing to someone who is trying to resolve a MONEY issue. I dont see how successful an establishment can be especially if you simply can't take accountability for something this small. What do I know I'm only the customer. Again our server was very nice and understanding so at least they have that going for them. Also your consomme was flavorless, salsa hot as ever with no mild option, the steak was very dry and chewy, but the pastor was good and you can't mess up fries. These were all things I planned on keeping to myself, but.... Unfortunately I won't be going back and I will be telling my friends about this.
