The waitress/bar tender was more focused on sitting on her phone and she sure enough had her glass full. Will never come back and will make sure people know not to come either Also while sitting next to the window, they have a bunch of dead flies on the inside. Very appetizing to look at.

Back to Whirlyball this time for a private event I worked with their team to organize the event and…read morethey did a good job putting the program together we started downstairs with renting a court and a few bowling lanes. We also added some large games to our space as well. We then made it upstairs for our dinner program and the buffet was amazing! Delicious and tenor serving they have a very nice event space upstairs. The staff were very nice. Two notes would just be that they had our program run on a court back to back with another group so it was ackward since we needed all those large games set up, had preset beverages and appetizers. Plus a full check in table. The other court was empty so I'm not certain why we weren't just in the other space. Then they also only had the front bar open in the first hour versus the one right at the courts and bowling where we were and other guests enjoying their time. In the case of our group it also left us separated into two since as they waited for drinks then they just became comfortable in the front bar talking. They did open the upstairs bar once we moved up there. I would book an event here again I would just make sure to clearly note some of those details and/or even book the court an extra hour to ensure no crossover even though I was able to set up 15 minutes before our event start. Everyone had a really fun time and for many it was their first time experiencing it.

You need to make lane reservations because there are only 2 - in the basement. They have bowling shoes that may or may not fit you. The whole place is full of vintage memorabilia and family staff has great pride in this place. Reasonable priced drinks and amazing hospitality! No food but they encourage you to order from a nearby pizza spot. It's been a stop for many famous folks (bands etc) but they have a dedicated group of regulars. It was cribbage night on our visit and the place was packed with guys (and gals) that still use words like "dupa". Not visiting this place would be a shame. Support this completely unique MKE business!

There are not a lot of H places on our list, and Holler House is legendary, so we figured we needed to hit it up now since it takes us about two years to get through the alphabet! We made reservations for the lanes in advance online, the owners greeted us when we arrived, shared some great history of the place and gave us some tips for ordering pizza from nearby Ned's (which we also had never tried) since we hadn't had dinner yet, and we had two hours of lane time. We learned that the back bar is the same as Wolski's, and once I heard that I recognized the stained glass motif flanking the ends of the bar. The two lanes are down a flight of carpeted stairs and there are four seats down there as well as holders on the wall for your drinks and a teeny women's room tucked off one of the lanes. Scoring is done by paper the old fashioned way unless you want to use an app. We had some friends who were willing to tag along to watch us and or/bowl some really low scores, and we had a good time. Max was our pinsetter and did a stellar job setting the pins back up and sending our balls back our way. In the bowling alley, you can play Touch Tunes, but we ended up forgoing the music and just enjoying the games and camaraderie. While we were bowling, the upstairs was transformed into a cribbage tournament space, and the place was full with players, but not overly loud despite the crowd. I noticed they had a selection of wines (and it wasn't the single serve Sutter Home/Yellow Tail), but expecting more of a dive bar selection I had already gone with vodka tonics, which were tasty at $5. Cathy made sure we were enjoying ourselves, and the owners seem to have themselves a great neighborhood place where they are carrying on the family history. When I walked in at 4:30pm the place was packed and very loud, to the point that I thought I walked in on a private party. After making sure that wasn't the case, I found a open seat out of the bar area. Their baseball bat appetizer (egg rolls with beef and cheese inside) reminded me of the cheeseburger shillelaghs that I like from Mo's Irish Pub, so I ordered those as well as hickory smoke BBQ wings and a BYO burger with extra American cheese and lettuce, which came with fries. Last time I was at Mo's the shillelaghs had three (or six when cut in half) to an order, so Dale Z's gives you less baseball bats per order with only two (or four when cut in half). They're fairly comparable, but I like that Mo's gives you sour cream with theirs compared to ranch or marinara at Dale Z's. The wings were good. I usually prefer breaded to grilled wings both for the crunchy texture and grill flavor can sometimes overpower the sauce or rub that's used. The hickory smoke BBQ wasn't going to be overpowered that day, yet it allowed the chicken to have its moments too. The burger, which I mostly ordered just to reach the $30 minimum for the deal I was using, ended up being the star. The cheese was gooey, the seasoning complemented the chargrilled flavor of the patty well, and it was cooked to a perfect medium like I ordered. Really a fantastic burger. The fries needed a little salt and pepper, but weren't bad as a side.

Third, did I mention it's cheap? Tito's soda -$4, High life - )3. The staff is really nice too. I'm not a good bowler at all - my last score was 18, but I had a great time here. If you miss old Falcon Bowl you should be checking this place out.

A portion of the event was outdoors so I was really excited about their outdoor heaters. Their 'backyard' is amazing. They have a huge projection screen set up for games and movies i assume. (We used it for the debut of a friend music video) There's also a huge patio area, outdoor bar, outdoor games, lots of picnic tables and several grills. The set up is unlike anything I've seen at a bar before and it's just really cool. I'm anxious to see how this large space is utilized once it warms up again. The bartender who was also the cook (and I very nice fellow) said that the Spicy BBQ and Garlic Parmisan are his favorite. I will be back to try those.
