We've tried multiple times to like this place. They have $2 tall boys but that's about it. A few…read moreof the bartenders that I've met are nice but only talk to the locals..If you are new to town they don't really engage in any conversation with you. On one of our visits the guy behind the bar was so loud and basically stood back there and drank lite the whole time. Then a local (I'm assuming) said something to the bartender and he shouted back "F**k you old man"! I asked someone at the bar does the owner know that his employee uses that kind of language? Much to my surprise he told me that the bartender is the owner! Are you kidding me? If you are visiting from out of town or new to town there are a lot better places to go that they don't use that kind of language. Not that I'm a prude or anything because I've used that language...I guess it's more shocking to hear it when you have people in your bar you've never seen. I was going to give it one star but decided I'd give it two because we just moved here and some friends of mine were in town and I thought I'd give them a second chance. We were met by a very nice bartender named Cassie. She was attentive and probably knew as an EMPLOYEE not to talk that way. Anytime someone came in she greeted them. The kicker here? The "owner" was sitting on the other side of the bar playing dice and still using that language and of course drinking miller lite. We'll go when she is working and/or their daytime bartender Ray. He knows a lot about sports and had a great conversation with my husband.

We had 3 different people come to our table to see how things were going which was really nice. The owner even stayed a while to talk about the business and his other restaurants in the area. Started with a Scotch Egg and I had the Cottage Pie, my wife had the Fish and Chips and we finished with the Sticky Pudding. Everything tasted great. Have to say, the ordering by phone was a little challenging, but we figured it out. Great addition to the Public Market. Definitely will be back.

This restaurant sits in the Mequon Public Market and legitimately has better fried fish (and chips) than St. Paul Fish Market just across the parking lot, as crazy as that sounds. The batter is light but crispy, and there's a generous cut of fish under the relatively "fluffy" exterior and the fries were fresh and awesome. They also have a respectable beer selection, plus some good cocktails on offer. We were acknowledged and never ignored by staff even though there's an option to order everything through a QR code on the table. The manager stopped by a few times to check on us before it got overly busy, which was also nice. I'm excited to come back here and enjoy the patio when it warms up.

Home plate Asylum - Chicken Caesar wrap with sour cream cheddar cheese tater tots

Homeplate Asylum Sports Bar, which is located where the former Laura's Donges Bay Clubhouse used to…read morebe, isn't far from where I live and didn't have any reviews or pictures as of when I reviewed them, so my family and I took a chance on lunch so I could upload menu and food pictures. One kid ordered a BBQ chicken wrap without the BBQ sauce or tomatoes and got fries for the side, my wife and other kid split a half pepperoni and half cheese pizza, and I got a Caesar chicken wrap with sour cream cheddar cheese tater tots for my side. We also got mozzarella sticks and wings with a sweet and sassy BBQ sauce. The mozzarella sticks were Italian breaded, which I like. They tasted good, but $9.50 for seven sticks that are on the smaller side is a bit much. The wings, however, were great. Decent size and you get 10 of them for $12. The older kid that didn't want BBQ sauce in his wrap ended up enjoying two of the wings, which has a subtle kick to the sauce. We'd get these again. The pizza had a little too much sauce, but it wasn't hard for my wife to scrape off some of it. She and the younger kid both like the pizza, which is good because the younger one can be quite picky at times. Both the older kid and I enjoyed our wraps. I thought mine in particular had a good amount of really crunchy chicken. He liked his fries even though I thought the one I tried was a little bland. I appreciate that the tots seemed homemade, but I really didn't taste the cheddar or the chive, so I probably wouldn't get those again for the $5 up charge.

Date of visit: 8/20/23…read more Most of the BW3s in the area have closed because of poor service, lack of staff, or a combination of those two, so it was a fun little treat to come here when we were in the area. Sadly it was a mixed bag in terms of the experience, though I certainly have had worse! We waited a while to be served, with no one around at the front of the store upon our arrival. It was so long that I was looking up other restaurants in the area to consider before Jazmyn appeared. I found out later that there appeared to be all of three staff people here at this time. Food was decent, not amazing, and just made me miss the golden age of Buffalo Wild Wings when the place was full of people and the food was outstanding. I had teriyaki boneless wings and I did score one extra wing (11 instead of 10) and so that's why I went three stars instead of two, and the food did reheat well later, so that was nice.

But the hostess and waitress were both so slow I might as well have gone to France for dinner. But at least the food was mediocre! It was lukewarm and dry by the time we got it. The cheese sauce had solidified. Some of the sauce cups were significantly less than half full. But at least it was expensive! This location has been getting worse for so long that I can only assume that both management and ownership are utterly incompetent. Seriously, don't bother coming here.
