Drinks are priced about average for the area. If booking weekend or after work the prices can start getting expensive. There is a lot of competition around but this place is better than most. I attended a private event at Luxe Golf Bays, which is the only reason I'd ever have to go there…read morebecause I'm disabled and can't golf. That said, hats off to the staff at Luxe for treating me no differently than anyone else there that night. The evening started with a lovely buffet that included a nacho bar, both barbecue and dry-rub chicken wings, fruit and vegetable trays, and pizza. I highly recommend the pickle pizza, a delight I learned to love in the Twin Cities!! The chicken on the nacho bar was moist and very tasty. I also enjoyed the barbecue wings; they were meaty and the sauce was generous. When food started to run low, staff were quick to respond and the kitchen seemed up to the task as the buffet was replenished as quickly as it seemed possible. I was very impressed. I don't drink very often, and this night was no exception to my general rule, but I did sip my friend's tropical cocktail, and found it worth every penny because it was strongly alcoholic and very refreshing. Everyone in the large group I was there with seemed to enjoy the golf aspect of the evening. This was my first experience with a place like this, and it was fascinating to to watch. This is quite an impressive set up, and I'd be happy to go back anytime able-bodied friends are going.

The instructor, who I believe is more of a corporate guy than a franchise employee was phenomenal; informative, helpful, etc. Very poor marketing and offering when wishing to give as a gift. The general manager was extremely rude when I suggested having anything; a flyer, a card, a brochure, etc to provide with a gift card . . . his response was, "we have a QR Code." He then proceeded to question if I was trying to sell him something, raised his voice, and said "he's done" and stormed off. My colleague and I were amazed at the lack of professionalism. I will continue to visit X-Golf for personal and scheduling Corporate Events, but I will scout other locations, Brookfield, Waukesha, etc. I've tried AmFam twice and will never be back. Lastly, Bar service and mixology was poor and slow; lack of selection, and bartenders who didn't know how to make a simple martini . . . but staffing is tough right now, I get it.

Location is a little sketchy, and this is definitely a dive bar at its finest, but the real star of the show is the duck pin bowling located in the back. For those not familiar, it's a much shorter, elevated lane than regular bowling. Select from different weighted, softball size balls and roll it down the lane. It's much easier than regular bowling and scores tend to be high, so it's a nice ego boost and tons of fun! And instead of a machine re-racking the pins, there are teenagers that sit back there to set them up. Tips: Cash only for the bowling which is $5 dollars a person. Make sure to tip your pin setters! Its best to call in advance to reserve a lane, but walk ins welcome. There are four lanes and you can rent one or more for an hour and a half each. They bowl super late, and is an awesome spot to hang out with a group and play a few rounds! Come knock some pins down at this legendary spot!

We also added some large games to our space as well. We then made it upstairs for our dinner program and the buffet was amazing! Delicious and tenor serving they have a very nice event space upstairs. The staff were very nice. Two notes would just be that they had our program run on a court back to back with another group so it was ackward since we needed all those large games set up, had preset beverages and appetizers. Plus a full check in table. The other court was empty so I'm not certain why we weren't just in the other space. Then they also only had the front bar open in the first hour versus the one right at the courts and bowling where we were and other guests enjoying their time. In the case of our group it also left us separated into two since as they waited for drinks then they just became comfortable in the front bar talking. They did open the upstairs bar once we moved up there. I would book an event here again I would just make sure to clearly note some of those details and/or even book the court an extra hour to ensure no crossover even though I was able to set up 15 minutes before our event start. Everyone had a really fun time and for many it was their first time experiencing it.
