Great spot to come and hang whether for a date or with a small group(3 max per table). They have a wide array as food as well. We went just before December and had a great time. Doc is a great guy and has some jokes. We had a table directly right of the stage and the view of the saxophonists was worth it. Could see doc on opposite side of the stage work his magic. They have a great system of seating you when you reserve so you're not crowding the entrance which is hidden as you have to take a set of stairs down to the basement. Overall a great experience and a must if you love jazz. They have other nights with different genres as well. read more

Tucked away under the Bottleing Department at The Pearl, is Jazz TX a dinner and show club with a speakeasy feel; walk down the steps behind the curtain to a dimly lit room. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted with warmth friendliness. The service was good, the food was great, the drinks were terrific and the music was fabulous! Intimate setting, good crowd. Every one should visit and recommend. Every thing about this place was top notch will definitely be returning and brining others. Plan early as the they do get close to selling out (nightly) even in the ice storm I think there were maybe 2 tables open. And respect the reservation time. Its worh the money. Full bar menu wide verity of whiskey and Bourbon. They offer 2 mock tails on the menu but I'm sure with the full bar they could make any, no non alcohol beer. read more

This was a charming and wonderful experience! This place is hidden in plain sight being located beneath the food hall at the pearl. You take the set of stairs on the side of the building down into a hidden speak easy-esque bar and dining room with a stage where the band plays. I attended a New Orleans themed night which was absolutely amazing. The band was phenomenal and routinely plays at jazz, TX. The drink I had was so delicious that I ordered three! The drink menu is unique and very very good, as is the food menu! I ordered the calamari, risotto, and tried my friend's ravioli which was also delicious. The service was also outstanding. This is such a fun place for a romantic date night and a great excuse to dress up. You need to buy tickets in advance and it does sell out. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

We got very lucky getting a table the night we went. It's a full jazz show after the meal and that is the reason to go. The band was amazing. I think I had my jaw hanging open for most of the show. A nice place for date night. Romantic and dark ambiance with warm lighting and nice Jazz. It seems like they have a variety of shows with varying energy levels and prices. You can check their calendar for more info. I sat at the bar and paid around $25-$30 for my bar seat. The musicians were very talented and i especially enjoyed the piano solos. It is a little pricey and you can find places with lower fees and talented musicians, but you're paying for the ambiance and "bigger" names here. The bar staff was friendly but the space was cramped. Hard to get in and out of the bar seats you were so close to your neighbor and narrow paths for the waiters to walk around you. read more

We loved it so much that we returned for **The Music of Walt Disney - Volume II** to celebrate our nephew's birthday. Both shows were fun trips down memory lane for any Disney fan. We went to the Mardi Gras Party at Jazz TX on Friday, March 21 -- and wow, what a night! Brandon Guerra, Adam Carrillo, and friends absolutely lit up the stage. They were in such a great mood the entire time, smiling, laughing, and hyping each other up! Very attentive & accommodating, but not overstepping. They hit it out of the park with food & cocktails! I ordered the Jazz Burger- my bad, it was a bit messy to eat when dressed nice but it was fabulous. My husband got the filet and loved it. Several cocktails- Old Fashioned, an Here & Now drink, Espresso martini & a Hibiscus Spritz Now Doc Watkins & band was outstanding! I expected a little "concert", but we got an evening of amazing jazz (new & classics) with his entertaining bits between songs. What a guy! What a band! We loved our entire evening! Have been to Jazz Tx many times, the latest was Naama , a singer from NYC. The music is always first rate, service is excellent, and prices fair. In addition, they have created an atmosphere that recalls the jazz clubs I used to frequent in Houston in the 70's, where I saw Dizzy Gillespie , Miles Davis and others. While the musicians they have are not of that caliber, they are very, very good. In addition to all of that, they are in a location that offer many great pre show options for dining if you choose an option other than their menu. Something was off with the meatballs--they did taste a little off, like there was way too much bread in them. 2 stars due to that. Ticket prices is fair. And there is no service fee or minimum order for tables. I would highly recommend booking online sooner than later if you see a show you're interested in. They book fast! I am already deciding what show to go to next! I just had dessert there. But the pecan pie that was one of the BEST pecan pies I've ever had!! Maaaaaaaaan. It was amazing. I was so disappointed with their crème brûlée. I know weird to start off that way. However, I am a huge fan of crème brûlée so this was disappointing. It was bland and grainy, the caramelized sugar was way overly thick. It's supposed to be a thin layer. The drinks weren't strong I could hardly detect alcohol. The food was good. Nothing over the top but it did have a good taste. We had a table that was near the restroom, avoid getting that table, it was the last available for a reason. Folks kept bumping into our table. The show was good. The performers were fun and entertaining. It's a fun experience. Parking is available on the side but it's limited. It's not a far walk to the public parking under the bridge. All in all I would go for a date for the show and dinner. Then grab dessert and drinks elsewhere :-/ however I always give spots another chance (we'll I try if I have time) to report if this is the norm or an off day. read more

I absolutely love this spot. I've been coming to this place since 2017. And it's always the best show ever. I was just there with friends to take in Mariachi las Coronelas. This is a Collection of the most amazingly talented and beautiful female performers I've ever had the privilege of being in the same room with. Such a variety of strong voices everyone with a unique sound each their own playing a different instrument and loving what they do. Not only did they sing the traditional Mexican Ranchera classics, they sang Johnny Cash, Devil Went Down to Georgia, a few classics from the 50s, the list goes on. They danced and were very playful and interactive with the audience. I would definitely stop at nothing to see them perform again. And as always Doc Watkins was in the house charming as ever.
