Great jazz spot
Yadhira L.

I had no idea this place existed, but I was invited by my friend who was in town on tour. Even passing by there's a hyper colorful food truck park next-door so we were confused trying to find this location. Once we arrived, we went inside, but were quickly greeted by staff and asked to go back outside. We were confused and embarrassed. The staff was apologetic and nice enough, but at least have somebody at the door or a sign that says don't come in. They explained to us the next set would be happening soon, and the first set of guest should be leaving. They charged us $16 each to be able to sit at the table and being 50+ yes we need to sit down. We proceeded to order our drinks and alas, they did not have the brands we enjoy. How do you not have Bacardi? I settled for the Paloma with random tequila. The alternate gin brand did not measure up to Bombay. When the second set began we had a lovely time. The musicians are top-notch and my friend got to sit in on bass. All the musicians gelled amazingly well together. It was uplifting and inspiring. Up until they pass the jar for the band. So out the gate we paid for subpar drinks, we paid for the seats, and now we're also paying for the band? The room had emptied out for the second set so anyone that was standing probably sat down and didn't pay, but I'm just guessing. We do plan to go back when they have these spectacular musicians again, but they really need to think about the customers point of view and who their clients are.

I first visited River Sun when they had only recently opened their doors. I loved the fact that they brought something different to the area. A place that was more intimate and relaxed. Visiting again, almost a year later, they have made so many changes and I'm loving it even more. Still that same intimate, relaxed vibe, but changes like: better cocktail options, more seating, decor...things of that nature. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about their craft. You literally can just tell them what flavors you like and what type of liquor you want, and they can whip you up something that tastes amazing. I highly recommend this place. Go check them out!

River Sun is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots. They have a good rotation of bands that come through playing a wide variety of jazz styles. But the cocktails are the star of the show. Their mixologists have created an amazing array of cocktails for every palate. And sometimes that make masterpieces straight off the dome. If you haven't stopped by you are missing out!

Sunday night Jazz !

River Sun melts down any anxiety when you enter the space. Beautiful murals, ambient lighting and warm smiles let you know ; you are in the right place.

Great new cocktail bar and a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. They also have a great natural wine and beer menu. Highly recommend you check out this place! They also have a vegan and vegetarian kitchen open until 9pm for now but are expanding it soon. 10/10.

Had a work meeting here this morning and I was amazed by this little gem ! The outside does not match the inside! The art and the vibe of this place is chill. Great place to sit and get some work done. Austin was serving up the coffee and I took his recommendation and tried the Shaman and it hit perfectly! After that I tried a Chai Latte (never had one) but it was legit! Austin was quick and very chatty which is nice when visiting a new place.

First time here and may I say, seems like a hotspot with how many people were there. Very intimate lighting which is very good to go on a date with or just come a random Saturday to hear some Jazz. Their specialty drinks are good as well as service. I would say come early to get a seat, as closer to 10 the place starts getting packed. Would def recommend to experience.

Lilac Sonnets and and Old Fashioned

This spot is an absolute gem. Very intimate, semi-psychedelic lighting and wall design (which correlates with the overall theme of the menu). One of the most exciting drink menus I have ever seen (and I've lived in NYC and North NJ for a very long time so I've been lucky to have had some superb gustatory and olfactive experiences). Very friendly staff who pretty much run the place. The price points may be on the higher side but 100% worth it and deserved considering the level of creativity, presentation, and innovation that has clearly gone into writing and executing their exciting drink menu. Awesome caffeine options you most likely won't find anywhere else if you're not into alcohol. Live music once a month. No food. Happy hour is WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY & SUNDAY 7PM - 11PM FRIDAY & SATURDAY 11PM - 1AM They have unusual hours of operation so definitely look before heading over. They open at 7am if you want to start your day with some gourmet sips of coffee or tea. I'm really looking forward to going back! Seriously want to try every single item on their menu.

Great little bar that is going to be having a coffee bar in the morning!! I love this concept and the drinks are fabulous!! Austin the barista is so friendly and very educated with coffee. He also has his own creamer called Crema Materia that are in the coffee drinks. So yummy!! The environment is also very warm and relaxing!! Definitely recommend trying this place out!!

Someone in our group had heard this was the place, so we walked over and hoped for the best. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately impressed by the vibe. The space is very cool and feels like a beautifully repurposed old factory. It has a lot of character and energy without feeling overwhelming. Our group of eight easily found a great spot near the fireplace, with some of us on the sectional and others in chairs, and we were comfortable right away. Despite being very busy, the service was quite good. Drinks came out promptly and the staff was friendly and attentive. We stayed for a few rounds and really enjoyed ourselves. This place turned the night around completely. Great space, great drinks, and great service. I will definitely be back the next time I am in San Antonio, and would even consider staying at the hotel just to be close to this bar. 5 stars.

Service was quick and attentive, even when we switched it up on her and jumped from a table (where we had ordered) to a spot on the couch that had opened up. I wasn't feeling like drinking alcohol, so I ordered a mocktail called the Prohibition Punch and enjoyed it. It was very citrusy/sour, but was refreshing. I'd probably try something else on the menu next time, but still had a great experience overall!

They had a bunch of different cocktails inside lots of unique options and some not so much but where it was all about was the specials one in particular the Dunkle Sandwich as it tasted like Peanut butter and jelly like it was soo good up there with one of the best shots I've ever had soo flavorful and just good like this was by far my favorite thing I drank this night! Our other drinks were yummy too don't get me wrong as each of them has key components that made them taste amazing while I did forget the names just know that each one of them was yummy! On this particular night they had a mentalist wondering around doing magic he was fun and added to our evening here so that was a nice touch! Our bartender was awesome and quick to get us our drinks and I must say everything was mixed very well! Overall awesome spot for date night we both enjoyed our time here and hopefully we get to make it here again at some point because you can't go wrong with a chill speakeasy!

There is a drink for every drinker here that includes non-alcoholic (NA) drinks as well so don't be shy. If you see something on the menu that calls you get it. Your drinks will be carefully created right in front of you and with the freshest herbs (like lavender and dry fruits) and juices you can find on this side of 281. My friend and I ended up getting a couple of drinks off their seasonal menu. I got a lavender lemonade and she opted for an Aperol spritz cocktail that we took outside to enjoy the sunshine while daydreaming about living inside The Pearl. The amount of history in this building where the Park Bar is located is remarkable and fascinating. It was super cool to be drinking in such a historic building that used to be a bottling department that would bottle the beers back in the day.

We always see this restaurant but have never tried it . They have two different menus and two different seating areas based on the menu you choose. We went for the Tex Mex cantina menu as I have a picky 15 year old and the other menu is for more mature palates. For the Catina style menu you can openly sit at tables near the bar and scan a QR code to Order food and drinks . My oldest daughter had the carne asada tacos, my youngest had the OG barrito, my wife and I both got the Pollo Asada rice bowl. The Asada tacos were served with a salsa that was semi spicy. The meat was very flavorful and is garnished with cilantro . She enjoyed them a lot. The OG barrito is filled with beans, guacamole, and carne asada. It looks more like a large flauta on flour . Upon her first bite she was like "this is good ", she wished it had the Spanish rice inside too. The Rice bowls my wife and I had were very flavorful, the chicken was seasoned well and the rice was cooked just right with an excellent flavor. It also came with avocado on top, beans, and pico. We all enjoyed our meal immensely! Only downside was how long it took to get the food .

What hampered the taste experience was the incredibly poor service and the unapologetic way it was corrected. How can one truly savor the main plates when fresh tortillas haven't been served, which were supposed come before the main dishes. It took us talking to three different people before getting fresh tortillas. By the time we received them, we were done with the main dishes. For this chica ... it IS a big deal. The service, or lack thereof, hurt this rating. Mezquite .... If you want to show off, then service counts too.

Everything came out quickly, the service was smooth, and the whole menu felt approachable. I enjoyed the crawfish roll, which is a really nice alternative to the crab roll. The fries were especially good, and dessert really surprised us. The carrot cake is very mild on the spice side, which actually let the textures shine, especially the brittle on top. It was incredibly light, crunchy, and honestly the best part of the dessert. We also appreciated how efficient everything was.
