[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a fun far/dancing/karaoke spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by as the decor piqued my interest and it didn't disappoint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had some drinks at the front bar, and a good time taking pics and chatting with the staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Later that night we returned to check out the DJ and were pleasantly surprised with the back-hidden door bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So fun listening to the live music and DJ and fun time with the live music karaoke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Def recommend to check out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor and vibe are super fun and colorful with friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restrooms located before the back-bar door entrance and a single in the back bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Walking distance from so many restaurants and river walk.

Stopped in at the Pink Shark before a downtown event and glad I did. They have one of the best happy hours downtown and is located conveniently in the middle of Market and Commerce streets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bartender was welcoming and friendly and the vibe of the spot was very chill and relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm planning to come back and also make this my pre/post NIOSA meeting spot for me and my friends. You should also come check it out.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place but PACKED! I'm not sure if it was just the day I went but it was hard to even walk in there with the amount of people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got their house shots with spicy pineapple tequila and they were really good! Coming from someone who doesn't drink at all essentially. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not sure if it was the day (Friday?) but a lot of people went on the older side maybe 40+ year olds and the music matched it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The best green apple martini I've ever had in my life! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is awesome I love how it feels like a back room speakeasy' ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I loved it so much and service is good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only gripe I would say is stop cleaning the floors while guest are inside, maybe it's cuz the don't want anyone to slip but it was getting. Little ridiculous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music is good and it's very cute decor and fun to take pictures here[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I cant even begin to describe how necessary of an experience this place is for anyone visiting downtown San Antonio. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the modern vibe, to the friendly staff, to the good food and drinks, it was an amazing experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a mango spicy margarita, Moscow mule and margarita flight to start and a little hottie pizza and charcuterie board afterwards. COMPLETELY worth it!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The drinks are overpiced but it makes up for it in the ambiance which is honestly a vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]DJ was great as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The reason for my review was the service at the bar (in the back) they would look over me to serve those behind me even though I waited in line. I ended up having one of my friends order for me instead since they would serve her quicker... we are opposites in looks. I really wanted to like this place especially for my girls night out. Pic just to prove i did go and i was up in the front waiting for a long while didnt capture the bartender to respect his privacy. I hope maybe they just didnt see me or idk I just do not want to assume.

This is an amazing bar downtown. We stopped here before a show at the majestic. It's a great central location downtown. They had happy hour until 8 and included some great deals. The decor was really cute, good drinks, snacks, location... we definitely will be back when we go downtown.

Fun place. I met my friend here before a show downtown. It was dead at 6 pm, but we had a good time anyway. Happy hour charcuterie and a frozen margarita set me back $24, but it was enough to serve as dinner. This place is very instagrammable. The staff was quite nice. We didn't get to see the back room, because it was closed on a Tuesday.

What can I say about this place? In short: tons of photo ops, super cute decor, good drinks, and some amazingly delicious French onion dip! I visited for their happy hour. Not a huge selection of cocktails/alcoholic beverages, but I made do. I really enjoyed their spicy pineapple tequila shot. The food options were even more limited, because they had ran out of everything except the pizzas and oysters. Complete bummer! Service and everything I ordered was good tho. Nonetheless, it's a nice spot to relax and have a few drinks by yourself or with friends.

I was in town for the weekend and was looking for a place to have a night cap Friday night. I saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in I noticed all the decorations, which helped set a cool, funky vibe! I sat at the bar and got service right away. The drinks were great and the crowd was friendly. The DJ was spinning some great tunes which literally had me dancing in my seat! If you are looking for a cool spot, with a good DJ, to have some drinks, Pink Shark is for you!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is super girly and cute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the drinks were really good. I went for happy hour.

Light dish. Tc double cheese burger: very strong flavors, somewhat sweet. Dense/heavy dish . Our waiter was quick and friendly. The restaurant lighting was dimmed and gave a more intimate /bar environment. I think the ac was broken here because it was very warm and they had fans going on around the room. I think this place would be good for someone who is prefers an American fusion cuisine that leans heavily on the western style dishes. The fusion elements were cute but I still left unsatisfied but still full. We did not park. We walked here right from the river walk. Not a bad place to go if you arrive in town after 9 pm.

For her second drink, she told the bartender to surprise her. He gave her a look and asked more than once if she was sure she wanted him to surprise her. Instead of making her an actual cocktail, he poured her what seemed to be a straight, extremely bitter liqueur. The whole interaction felt sarcastic and like he was intentionally messing with her rather than trying to make her something she would enjoy. What bothered me most was the attitude behind it. We weren't being rude, demanding, or causing problems. We were there to have a good time and experience the whole "tell us what you like and we'll make you something" concept. I did call the number listed for the business afterward trying to speak to someone about it. The person who answered said I had the wrong number and didn't know what I was talking about. I got angry during that call and said some things I shouldn't have, and I can admit that. But that doesn't change how disappointing the experience at the bar was. We expected a creative and welcoming experience and instead left feeling like my wife had been mocked. I hope management sees this and addresses it, because the concept of the place is great, but the way we were treated completely ruined it for us

On that occasion, the…read morevenue was exceptionally busy, and the sole bartender on duty informed us he was covering for an absent colleague. Despite the staff shortage, we placed a significant order for at least ten drinks. My husband had made a reservation for 6:00 PM. However, at approximately 7:30 PM, after we had already placed our drink order, a staff member informed my husband that our table reservation was only valid for two hours. Concerned about the impending two-hour limit and the delay in receiving our drinks, which had still not arrived by 7:45 PM, we inquired with our bartender about potentially canceling our order. He reassured us, stating that other tables were available should additional patrons arrive. Our subsequent visit, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, was solely with my husband. We arrived punctually, approximately five minutes before our 7:30 PM reservation. A female bartender directed us to a small, two-person table, despite the presence of two larger, seemingly more comfortable, unoccupied tables nearby. While initially assuming these larger tables might be reserved for a bigger party, the selection felt somewhat restrictive given the availability. Our seating unfortunately placed us adjacent to another patron who was using an additional chair to prop up her footwear, which contributed to an unpleasant atmosphere. The bartender then approached our table and asked if it was our first time, to which we replied it was not. She then asked if we knew what we wanted to order. We requested a brief moment to review the menu. However, we then waited for approximately fifteen minutes for her to return. Eventually, my husband had to actively call her over to place our order. Our initial drinks arrived after another ten to fifteen minutes. Subsequently, my husband attempted to catch the bartender's attention to order another round and request water. However, she was engaged in a lengthy conversation, estimated at ten minutes, with the neighboring patron and proceeded to walk past our table without acknowledging us. This extended period of being overlooked led to considerable frustration for my husband, who then felt compelled to approach the main bar directly to place our order and obtain water from a different bartender. It was only after this that the initial female bartender finally approached our table, asking if we needed anything. Considering the relatively small size of the establishment and the fact that there were only three occupied tables at the time, the level of inattentive and delayed service was particularly disappointing and, frankly, perplexing.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

We enjoy eating quails, but it's usually bittersweet relationship because of all the small bones however their appetizer for fried quail legs is super user-friendly. If you are scared of choking on small bones, these will not give you that kind of worry at all. We were impressed on how well-made and easily eaten they were.
