Pink Shark has been on my radar since it opened a couple years ago, and I'll admit I came in with some hesitation. I'm always drawn to cocktail bars with a strong theme, and places like this usually live or die by how well they commit to the experience. Right away, the space is visually striking. The pink-forward aesthetic isn't totally my lane, but I can appreciate how fresh and easy on the eyes it feels. That said, it leans more high-energy lounge than intimate cocktail bar. For me, it's missing a bit of that dim, red-lit, date-night allure that makes a true cocktail spot feel seductive and immersive. At times, it feels closer to a club atmosphere than a tucked-away lounge. What really pulled me in, though, was the speakeasy concept and this is where Pink Shark starts to shine. The hidden entrance in the back delivers exactly the kind of exclusivity I was hoping for. Inside, the vibe shifts: loungy, modern, and just the right amount of sexy. The minimalist design works, and the lighting and décor pop without feeling overdone. Music can make or break a place like this, and on Saturday (4/25), the DJ nailed it. A smooth mix of EDM with reworked classics kept the energy up without overwhelming the space. Paired with a solid sound system, it elevated the entire experience. On the drinks side, there's a bit of a split. The signature cocktail menu is solid and clearly the focus, but for a speakeasy-style bar, the overall selection feels a little limited. I did appreciate seeing El Tesoro Reposado and Blanco on hand; always a good sign. I went with an Old Fashioned using the reposado, and my date had a Paloma with the blanco (based on a prep recommendation). Both were well-executed, and the bartender was accommodating and easygoing, which goes a long way. Service was smooth and quick, and we lucked out with seats at the bar at least for a while. Fair warning: around 11pm, they clear out the bar seating as the crowd builds. It shifts the energy again toward more of a standing-room, nightlife feel, but if you can snag one of the couches, you're in a good spot. Overall, Pink Shark has a lot going for it and even more potential. The speakeasy element is easily its strongest feature, and I'd love to see that identity pushed further especially with a deeper, more classic-leaning cocktail list (think Black Manhattan or a proper Boulevardier). Yay! After seeing Pink Shark on social media for a minute I finally made it there to check it out! It was on a Tuesday after a work event downtown. Perfect day/time for me, able to enjoy the place without all the crowd. The atmosphere is good. The decor is fun, the drinks are ! We were there during happy hour. The bartender, introduced himself, Omar, was friendly and attentive. I had the martini flight. The BEST one was the cucumber one. SOOOOO GOOOD! I'd go back just for that!! The back room was closed that day. More of a reason to go back to check it out! Heading out we were a few buildings down and Omar called out to catch us to let us know that we forgot the credit card! Such a fun far/dancing/karaoke spot! Stopped by as the decor piqued my interest and it didn't disappoint. Had some drinks at the front bar, and a good time taking pics and chatting with the staff. Later that night we returned to check out the DJ and were pleasantly surprised with the back-hidden door bar. So fun listening to the live music and DJ and fun time with the live music karaoke. Def recommend to check out. The decor and vibe are super fun and colorful with friendly staff. Restrooms located before the back-bar door entrance and a single in the back bar. Stopped in at the Pink Shark before a downtown event and glad I did. They have one of the best happy hours downtown and is located conveniently in the middle of Market and Commerce streets. The bartender was welcoming and friendly and the vibe of the spot was very chill and relaxed. I'm planning to come back and also make this my pre/post NIOSA meeting spot for me and my friends. Cute place but PACKED! I'm not sure if it was just the day I went but it was hard to even walk in there with the amount of people. I got their house shots with spicy pineapple tequila and they were really good! Coming from someone who doesn't drink at all essentially. The drinks are overpiced but it makes up for it in the ambiance which is honestly a vibe. DJ was great as well. The reason for my review was the service at the bar (in the back) they would look over me to serve those behind me even though I waited in line. I ended up having one of my friends order for me instead since they would serve her quicker... we are opposites in looks. I really wanted to like this place especially for my girls night out. I am obsessed with everything about this place! Super cute interior, it really is true to its name. Lots of pink, lots of sharks! Plenty of places for a photo op inside. Our bartender was incredible. She is amazing at her job, very attentive and friendly. The prices are awesome here too. Great happy hour that lasts for a long time! I got a martini flight ($9) and a mojito ($5). My husband got a beer ($2) and an old fashioned ($5). Lots of fun drinks and different stuff you would not see on a typical menu. What can I say about this place? In short: tons of photo ops, super cute decor, good drinks, and some amazingly delicious French onion dip! I visited for their happy hour. Not a huge selection of cocktails/alcoholic beverages, but I made do. I really enjoyed their spicy pineapple tequila shot. The food options were even more limited, because they had ran out of everything except the pizzas and oysters. Complete bummer! Service and everything I ordered was good tho. Felt like I fell right into a tourist trap after coming all the way here for their "$1 oysters from 3-6 pm every day" and finding out at 4:30 that they were all out of oysters. Maybe they need to start limiting the number of oysters consumed per party, or otherwise estimating the demand better since according to the bartender they always go fast. I'm sure if you're local you know that, but if you just go by what's advertised, that's not clear at all. Anyway, we did stay for drinks and apps since we were already there and the place is cute, but my husband said his margarita was all mix and barely any alcohol. Absolutely loved Pink Shark Bar! The vibes were great both in the main bar & the speakeasy. The owners really outdid themselves with all the decor and furniture as well. Bar service was great as well. I will note that on the day we went, it was pretty crowded and they did not have table service at the main bar which meant we had to wait a bit to get a drink from the bartender. Not sure if this is a normal occurrence but just something to be aware of. 10/10 recommend the margarita and daiquiri on the happy hour menu. Amber and Juan make a great team, they were friendly, engaging and insightful as first timers to SA. They have happy hour DAILY from 1-7 and each drink is a quality drink! We went to check out the hh specials. The instagram ad was a little confusing they have a hh for oysters then shark hour for drinks and then a social which is a different menu. But overall it was a nice experience. The food is a little slow but it seemed like they had a very small kitchen and only one person back there so it wasn't too bad.
