I thought long and hard before giving this review. I'll start by saying that Jay had been grooming one of my dogs for over a yr, maybe longer. He was ok, nothing special. Last month Jay groomed my small elderly dog and cut her tongue. He stated " she stuck her tongue out while he was clipping by her mouth". He never apologized, nor said he was sorry. I was fortunate enough to get into my Vet right away. They were surprised to see so much blood. She had to have 3 stitches, sedation and an antibiotic shot. Jay did text to see how she was doing that evening. He did refund the fee, obviously!! He never offered to help with the Vet bill of $500 and again, no apologies . I have raised 7 dogs and have never experienced any dog having their tongue cut! This experience has left me numb. read more

I Will not lie I normally never give negative reviews and never thought I would here. They ghosted me for an appointment last Saturday. I called and texted a couple days in advance to confirm our scheduled monthly service. No response Saturday came and went with no response or text to my many inquiries. What bothers me more than anything they did a great job, our dog loved to to them. He was actually excited to get in the van. I have begged for a response if we did something to offend them, but nothing. Again, want to be fair they did a great job with the Dog, just communication is not great. Although it wasn't my dog, I witnessed my neighbor having a very distraught experience using this grooming service. I came outside after hearing what sounded like someone screaming. Turns out it was my neighbors dog yelping in the grooming truck a house down! I was shocked at the noises coming from this dog and it sounded like something was seriously wrong. I talked to my extremely upset neighbor as she cried wanting her dog back but told me she felt very disrespected by the man grooming her dog. If you love your animal don't use this lunatic! He groomed my friends little dog and cut her chest ! He proceeds to tell her it was a small cut and not to worry. Well hundreds of dollars later as this "cut" which was deep and large needed surgery! This poor animal has stitches now because of this man and he will NOT except any responsibility ! Do not ever use this man. He is rudest person I have ever met. I warned him that my dog may nip a bit while he is grooming him and he informed me that I was a bad dog owner. I am not a bad dog owner. I have had several dogs over the years and I treat them with the most respect. I also asked to not cut his hair too short and he told me that he was a professional and knew what he was doing. He was mad that I wanted to know how short he would cut my dogs hair. I have never been treated so negatively in all my life. This guy came over to my house on Saturday to trim my 2 schnauzers. I thought the first one looked good but when I got close, I could see that the grooming was uneven. On my 2 schnauzer...poor dog. A small white femail schnauzer. He took off all of her hair and you can see pink skin. He shaved her so close that she has razor burn and rash by her vagina and her anus. She keeps licking it and she's shaking. I'm worried that it will get infected and I will have to take her to the vet. Going to PetsMart to see what they recommend. I work 6 days a week, so it's really hard for me to find time to take my two Yorkies to the groomer. I was looking for a mobile groomer and Jay was recommended to me. My dogs can be really rambunctious and loud around strangers, but Jay was gentle and patient with them, very professional. He did an excellent job and was very affordable. Jay provides mobile dog grooming. He also specializes in dog walking, training and physical training. My slightly crazy, rescue terrier took to him instantly and Jay has since become the only way we would groom him. I strongly suggest you look him up if you live in the Phoenix Metro area and prefer not to leave your dog at a groomer's for a full day (plus the quality is much better than what I've experienced in the past). read more

Jay is amazing.. i have a cocker that is very picky about groomers and normally i have always had to muzzle him while grooming. Jay came and before I could even muzzle Zorro - Jay and Zorro had an understnading it was like dog whisper in person I have never seen Zorro so calm and he went right with Jay - No Muzzle they jammed to Jay's music in the van and life has been great Zorro loves his time with Jay and honeslty Jay is the best dog whispher groomer I have ever know. I bought an online deal to try Jay the Groomer and had Jay come over to trim down my golden retriever cross. Jay is a really nice, upbeat guy and i felt really comfortable with leaving my dog with him. He said that he has 12 years of experience doing this and seemed to know what he was talking about. I explained that i wanted a close cut to help keep him cool, so I can't really complain about how short he got clipped, but like the other review, my dog was clipped so short as to see the pink of his skin and there was a slight rash by his head. However, overall i was not impressed. My biggest complaints are that 1) i had mentioned that my dog's been scratching a lot ( i thought it was a reaction to the shampoo i was using) and it turns out he has fleas... which I only noticed after my dog was clipped almost to the skin (a blessing in disguise it turned out). I figured it must have been obvious to Jay that my dog had fleas, but he didn't even mention it when he returned the dog. I only noticed the next day when i went to pick off what i thought was fluff. (eww. not a fluff!) 2) After discovering the fleas, i washed him in flea killing shampoo and the water was REALLY dirty. It was obvious that Jay didn't wash my dog at all. For the deal i got it was worth it if only to find out, due to a really close cut, that my dog did in fact have fleas so that i could fix the problem....... but i wouldn't pay regular price for this service. read more

I have a pit bull terrier mix 3 year old female who came to me as an abused rescue dog. Jay has provided me with his expertise on training techniques, before he helped me my dog would not walk outside and now has not problem - a huge step for her. Jay is an excellent groomer as he gives her direction and guidance she needs. I think some owners don't understand the value of this and that spoiling their dog will not help them to obey you. They are children and when they don't have boundaries set they misbehave when they seek them. When the guidance is there they will follow direction. This does not mean that we love them any less, quite the opposite. Sometimes we don't like when someone tells us something that is true and right on target. read more

I used Jay the Mobil Groomer about 4 times. At all four times it was the most stressful time I have ever experienced with my dogs being cut & groomed. I would hear my dogs loudly cry and yelp through out the process of being groomed by Jay. Jay kept saying to my dogs , " oh stop you cry babies" . Jay always kept telling It was my fault that they cried because I babied them to much when I was inside the house not even around the process. He was always argumentative , defensive and intrusive. He would come into my house without asking and or permission. Very strange. Jay would also open his Mobil van doors wide open so the pets hair would fly all over the street and made a mess of dog hair on the side street. Very unprofessional. Since then I have had another mobil groomer to the house and my dogs experience was once again a pleasant one. No crying or yelping. I believe he was using blades that where not lubricated or sharp . His blades would stick my pet coat every time he made a trim and injured them. I should of gotten rid of Jay the first time he came over and trusted my gut. Yes he is lower price , but it is not worth the pain for your pet. I would not recommend this person. This kind of person needs to be doing something else then to mess with innocent pets. read more
