We've been going there for years. I usually pleased with the results. Over the years, it took longer and longer to get my three dogs groomed. The last time they were there for four hours and I called to ask when they would be finished and they said it would be another hour. I picked my dogs up mid groom and finished them myself. You can't keep my dogs all day and do other people's dogs in between them. It's not acceptable. I won't be back. read more

We have a very resistant dog when it comes to getting her nails done and the staff here was able to wrestle her and get all her nails trimmed. It was not a pretty site but they handled it with grace and were very calm. I couldn't be more thankful for their efforts. read more

This place hurt my dog. Cut her multiple times on her belly and legs and didn't have the nerve to tell me when I picked her up. I found her multiple cuts when I arrived home. Called back and spoke to the groomer. He was indifferent. Said she was tough to groom because she wouldn't sit still. She is a 10 month old puppy. Called the next day to speak with a manager. She said my puppy was awful. My wife explained then you should have stopped and called us. Manager hung up on her. Are you kidding me? AVOID this place like that plague!! read more

I have used Shampooch many times over the years for grooming my dogs. In all fairness I must say that this is my first serious complaint. I'm sharing my experience by review mainly because of three failed attempts to reach the owner, West, to discuss it. The staff refused to give me access to the owner by email or text or by phone. I left messages for a callback from West but she did not respond. My Problem: In early August, I brought my dog Molly in for a grooming. I was greeted by a male groomer to whom I gave instructions for the cut. He asked if I would also like Molly's ears trimmed and I responded by saying; "Yes, you can trim the ears a bit". When I picked her up I was shocked because she looked so different. It wasn't until I got her home that I realized that HER EARS WERE GONE! Not literally, but all the hair was removed from her previously long ears which gave her an entirely different look (unfortunately for the worse). My wife and I were both pretty upset but rationalized thinking it will grow back. Well, it's been a month and there is no sign of those beautiful ears growing back. I know that nothing can be done after the fact but I wanted the owner to know it was done without my request or desire. The haircut was also not the normal quality I expected. Since I was not able to communicate directly, perhaps this review will get to the proper people so as to avoid this happening to anyone else. I have been taking my fur-kids to West for many years, even before she opened Shampooch 1/2. Now that I have a Bernedoodle, Isaiah grooms her usually. He does a fantastic job on her. I would not trust anyone else to take such amazing care of my girls. West, Isaiah, and Shampooch has my business. read more

Had an appointment for Monday and they called that morning to reschedule for Tuesday...ok things happen...I like many am working from home so I rearrange my schedule to get my dog there on Tuesday. Gracie, like most dogs does not like the groomers so the stress she goes through when I get there is heartbreaking. I take her in and I am told that they can't do it today either.......and "didn't you get our message?" No one called me or my wife to cancel. I had to deal with the dog freak out for no reason and my schedule now was all screwed up. I get it you don't want our business.......we have been going here for several years but I will be forced to find a reliable professional to groom Gracie. read more

Do NOT trust your dog's grooming to this establishment. I dropped off my 10 month old puppy for grooming and picked her up, with no consult from the groomer. As can be seen in the pictures, she was cut several times in her leg and groin area to the point of bleeding. She seemed absolutely traumatized and would not eat or drink for several hours after taking her home. I was NOT ONCE told that there were ANY issues with my puppy and not warned of the cuts she had received. I called back and spoke with both the groomer and supervisor only to be told my dog was awful, and the manager proceeded to hang up on me (yes, I was upset). She's a PUPPY and this was her first time at Shampooch. If I were cut that many times I would protest too. How incredibly mean. In addition, if a groomer cannot handle a dog for whatever reason, stop the grooming process and have the client pick up their dog. I was never called nor notified of her "behavior" until I called to complain. Why continue to harm the animal? Our puppy is now being treated for cuts and possible infection. STAY AWAY! read more

I use to love coming here to bring my Pomeranians to Wes but my last experience I took my jackrussel to get groomed and when I went to pick him up I saw one of the other groomers (tall skinny lady with glasses) hurt another dog while grooming it and pull the hairs on its face and call the doggie names. I absolutely love Shampooch 2 on 40th St and Bell. Their prices are pretty good and their groomers do an excellent job. I've been taking my Puggle and Beagle there on a monthly basis for over a year now. Even on their busy days, both of my dogs are done in an hour. One time I kept forgetting to call them to schedule an appointment and they actually called me. It was a nice gesture/reminder. Their blueberry facials are a must! read more

We have used Shampooch for years. Very good service. We have a Yorkie and a Malti-Poo.

This was our first experience with a groomer (as we usually maintain this grooming care on our own with two large breed dogs) and I have to say it was a very positive experience! Our large energetic Doberman enjoyed her visit and came out smelling fresh as can be with nails on fleek. The staff were sweet as can be and warm and welcoming to us all. We brought our other dog in when we pick up our dobey to see how he would do in there. He is normal skittish and timid around new people. He is never comfortable outside the house, but the owner, West, was very patient with him and knew all the right approaches to take with him. We hope to bring him back in for grooming next time! I feel comfortable with the staff and the owner and know that they will make him feel safe. I look forward to our future relationship with this excellent groomer and staff! read more

This review is a couple of weeks late. My dog, Indy, is a senior and super sketchy about going to the groomer, especially having his nails done. He screams and sometimes poops and pees all over the table when he is scared. Whenever we move I have to pour through the reviews and websites to find someone who seems like they have experience and patience to bathe and cut his nails. Then we both stress out each time we try a new place and sometimes it works out, most of the time it takes a few tries. I am so happy that we found West and Shampooch 2. She was great with my sketchy senior and I was immediately impressed by her patience with him and knowledge of dogs. When I picked up my dog he looked all shiny and clean and most of all happy, so I just had to book his next appointment right then. Thank you West, I am so happy to have found you. read more

I literally almost am in tears writing this bc I'm so mad. It just kept getting worse. My usual groomer is booked out far so I found this place on here and had good reviews. Called to make an appointment and told them my dog had to be done by 3 or we could find another day. That gave them 4 hours for my small dog, they said should be two. Well it was getting close to 3 and I called, another 45 min. Then they call to say he's done but can only take cash. Why didn't you tell me prior when I called? This is all annoying but I could get past it. I can't get last I told them prior he's a runner. So I get there and door is locked. Groomer left him on table, he jumps off big table and runs to door. Luckily I pointed and yelled so groomer picked him up. He could have hurt himself jumping off table in so many ways. Luckily he seems ok. And if he ran out I don't want to think about it being so close to a busy road. I'm so upset. But I paid, tipped and left bc I was afraid I'd get mad. I shouldn't have tipped bit whatever. Not to mention cost was way more than my normal. He doesn't look bad but omg! read more

I have taken my dog to Shampooch and the same groomer for the last year. The last groom was not up to the standard it had been prior, so I took my dog to the vet to get his ears done and to check the razor burn on his groin. I called to let Shampooch know and was told, "All groomers have off days. You should have just come back to have us fix it." Knowing that my groomer usually did a good job (so much that I have referred all of my dog owner friends to her), I decided to keep my April appointment. Shampooch just called to say I can no longer go with that groomer because I had made a complaint. The catch was that the other groomer only works M-F, and my appointments are on Saturday because of work. I told them I would have to find a new groomer and the receptionist said, "OK." This was a disappointing interaction and a poor way to run a business. And I am sad for my dog because he now has to get used to another groomer, space, etc. read more

My poor pup looks ridiculous thanks to Elena. I specifically asked her to tighten the face and NOT cut the top short. She did the exact opposite... Along with giving him a dent in and devil horns on his head. Oh, and aside from some terrible chopped up hair on the top of his nose, his face is still long. He's been groomed five times since being with us and never has his former groomer (who unfortunately left his shop and hasn't landed elsewhere yet) complained about him whining, being antsy, or having a cowlick that magically left a dent in his head (as opposed to overzealous and poorly trained scissors). Never in my life have I not tipped well or asked for my tip back (!). After being argued with and hearing so many lame excuses, I did that today. I'm just sorry I didn't ask for my money back completely. The one star is for the ease of getting an appointment and receptionist who was pleasant. EDIT: I took him to another groomer next day to trim his nails and attempt to fix him (true fix will be his hair growing back). The groomers were appalled at his cut. Pointed out so many things gone wrong. Also commented on his easy demeanor. Nice to hear validation from professionals after being argued with and hearing excuses at Shampooch 2. read more

We brought our 2 small dogs in today and have been looking for a good groomer since we moved to this side of town 1.5 years ago. I could not be happier with this place. I was able to make a weekend appointment 3 days in advance instead of 3 weeks like our last place. The shop is so adorable and clean. The staff is friendly and quick. Most of all though, both my pug and terrier look amazing. The last place butchered their hair. It was uneven and looked terrible, but not this place. They were only there for 2 hours so not locked in a cage all day. They look and smell great! We will definitely be back. A good groomer is hard to find. Thanks you so much. read more

We have 3 dogs that we bring here and our middle one is always so scared to go to the groomers. Not now! Molly just marches right in so we know she is treated well and loved here. I had a pretty good experience here. The young guy that checked us in approached my dog a bit like a novice, so he growled a little because he wasn't sure but they did a great job and we got a bath and nails for 35. The set up is a little odd because it's half store, with a makeshift counter and an area behind for grooming. New client special adds in a doggy blueberry facial and tooth brushing for free. Incredible service!!! I brought in my 1 year old Carin Terrier rescue, for a haircut and the works. I was very apprehensive at first, since I had never taken a pet to a groomer before. Turbo, our pup, can be easily excited, and has lots of energy. West and her staff were amazing with him. The service was quick, and they helped make me feel very comfortable. I also would like to note her level of education and expertise, with all types of dogs. We left happier than we could have imagined, and will DEFINITELY be returning. read more

We had a disappointing experience with Shampooch 2. We asked for a basic bath and nail trim for our large breed short-haired puppy. She was still dirty (dried bits of poo all around her rear end) after the bath. Our main concern, however, was that the groomer was very impatient with the puppy during the nail trim. I advised her that she is skittish about having her nails trimmed, hoping that the groomer would show extra patience and try to comfort my puppy through the scary experience. Instead she was very rough with her, grabbed her, yelling at her and telling her she was "bad" (she's a scared puppy) and cut her nails past the quick, causing her to bleed. Our puppy was squirming and whining throughout the nail trim, which made the groomer more aggressive. I would have preferred to see a more calming approach that would help ensure that the puppy won't be as fearful of nail trims going forward. This isn't the right groomer for our dog and we won't be back. read more
