I highly recommend Tami for pet sitting…read more I travel pretty often; 1-3 times a quarter and Tami has watched my house for almost three years now. I schedule daily visits and live in services. I noticed a significant difference in my cats behavior when she is visiting verses when I would leave them to 'fend for themselves'. The updates she writes are thorough, well detailed and always include a picture. Each visit includes an invoice in advance with time for you to make changes if needed. She's dynamically handled several pet type situations, 2 cats, 2 cats indoors with one cat outdoors, hamsters, toads and even cared for a litter of 7 kittens I am fostering most recently for a week. She will feed fish and water plants too. She also handles my large dog 80+lbs with ease. She genuinely likes the animals and I've already got another visit scheduled. :) She's awesome.

I…read morecalled three times within two hours after she was originally supposed to show up and she never answered nor returned my messages. Thank god I was able to get one of my students to pet-sit at the last minute, or else I would have had to cancel my trip. Pretty ghastly unprofessionalism. I guess she doesn't need the business. UPDATE: I added a star because Rachel did eventually call- three hours after our scheduled appointment. She said she had a sick dog and "literally lost track of time." Now, I am not a heartless grinch. I understand being occupied with an ill animal. But for christ's sake- have a damn cell phone with you. It would "literally" have taken one minute to call me back and prevent me from becoming unglued.

We've used Arcadia Pet Sitting more than once, and unfortunately, we've had concerns on multiple…read moreoccasions. During our most recent experience, we returned home to several large urine spots on two Moroccan rugs, a litter box so full that our cat had gone to the bathroom outside it, and our dog Luna covered in urine. The house smelled like a kennel. I had to drag the rugs outside, clean the floors, and bathe Luna. I also had to pay for repairs to a plaster wall where the cat had urinated and defecated outside the litter box. Luna takes medication for urinary incontinence. Only one accident was reported, and when I specifically asked whether it was on the rug, I was assured the rug was safe. I wasn't told she was having multiple accidents. Had I known, I could have asked for the rugs to be removed and contacted her vet about her medication. On a previous booking with Don through the same service, we also had concerns about him leaving for extended periods. Luna had accidents during that stay as well, which made us question whether her medication was being given as instructed. What made the situation even more frustrating was the owner's response. Rather than showing concern or remorse about the poor care provided by Maddie, or by Don during the previous visit, she seemed primarily focused on making sure I paid the invoice so she could pay Maddie for her work. That left me responsible for even more expenses, including damage to two Moroccan rugs, repairs to the plaster wall, and the time and effort required to clean the house and care for our animals after we returned. It was upsetting to find our animals and home in this condition after paying for in-home care. I understand that accidents happen, but I expect them to be addressed promptly and reported honestly. Wendy provided a $125 discount, which I appreciate. However, when I raised the rug-cleaning costs, she responded that they weren't responsible for damage caused by our animals. My concerns were about basic care, cleanup, accurate communication, and the lack of accountability afterward. Given our repeated concerns and the way this situation was handled, we will not use this service again.

We were preparing for our first vacation without our dogs and I was stressed about finding somebody we could trust with our "kids". Gail was suggested by a local dog trainer and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. When she came for a meet and greet, our dogs are a little stand offish and Gail didn't mind and was willing to take them on. We got pictures and texts regularly and everything went great. The best part is I didn't worry about the dogs during our trip, missed them but didn't worry about them. And everything at home looked great when we returned. Now that we know Gail we won't hesitate to take more trips without the kids. I recommend Gail highly for home and pet sitting, and I can't imagine using anyone else.

A few hours after when she should of arrived I texted her why hadn't she been there and she said she'd been there for a couple hours. Seemed odd but I blew it off. Then we used her for a week vacation and we had a security camera in the kitchen. I had asked to never let pups go more than 6 hrs at most without going out. At 10 hours when she hadn't been there I texted and she said she had been there 3 hrs before. We confronted her and she admitted she lied. We said we are watching closely so if it will be more than 6 hours let us know. Throughout the week she was late several times because truck broke down, raining too hard to drive, couldn't get a friend to drive her, and then she acquired a car and It too broke down. I could of been understanding about all this but seeing in video she didn't pet or talk to our animals was so upsetting. We have two small lap dogs that she we never saw her pet she just pushed them away and said calm down, same for cats. It broke my heart. I only write this so other pet parents don't go through the same ordeal.
