    Keto Kimbap Box
    Tae Kyung Y.

I already left a review on the original Johns Creek location, but they recently opened up their second location inside the Suwanee h-mart plaza so this is my review on that! They position this location as an "Express" store mainly because it's actually not a full store but more inside of a food court. Their menu offerings are pretty consistent with the John Creek location -- but I did find one thing that I didn't find at JC and maybe they offer it now -- but it's a kimbap box that comes with your choice of kimbap, mini portion of spicy rice cakes, 3 fried toppings (seaweed roll, sweet potato & dumpling) and spicy pork. The price is $11.99 but depending on what kind of kimbap you get, it goes up +$1 or +$2. I needed a quick dinner so I was able to order this -- I ordered online and they make it super easy to order online and I got the keto kimbap box, which was $13.99. I was able to pick up within 15 minutes and I was the only one picking up my order so I thought perhaps it is because it's a weekday. Anyways, I got home and unboxed the bento box and was pleasantly surprised to see how generous the portions are. It's really a little bit of everything so it's nice cute little lunch box that can get you very filled. The keto kimbap was pretty good - because it's keto, they use egg instead of rice and that cuts down on the carbs a lot. But the spicy rice cakes has carbs so it's not like you are completely zero-ing on carbs. It was a little cold though, so it makes me wonder if they pre-make these in advance. The spicy rice cakes were solid -- it tasted like your typical JAWS topokki. It's pretty spicy and it's just like Korea's -- I'm glad they didn't compromise on the flavor for that. The fried stuff was also good -- both the fried foods and the kimbap are perfect for dipping in the topokki sauce. The one thing I will say that I was pretty disappointed with was the spicy pork. It was straight up cold -- like I think they just got it out of the fridge. The taste wasn't bad -- it was actually pretty good, but I was taken aback that it was cold. Spicy pork is not this restaurant's main menu so I don't expect it to be all fancy or anything but I don't think anything that's supposed to be served hot should be served cold. I think if they can't maintain the temperature -- they should swap the spicy pork out with perhaps an odeng skewer or more fried sides instead. Overall though, it was a pretty filling dinner at a reasonable price. It's also right next to my house and they also have mobile ordering and knowing they have this kimbap box, I will probably be returning here more often. JAWS was legendary in Korea about a decade ago and while other spicy rice cake franchises have come in the race in Korea, I hope JAWS can do well in settling and making a presence here.

The food was delicious. The Rose Topokki was spot on. The Sikhye slush was a hit with my husband. He went back and got another to drink while we shopped. Definitely a place to come back for a quick eat while grocery shopping.

The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

Otherwise you'll end up in the gas station. First of all, this place is HUGE compared to the other locations. Super clean, new furniture, it's just pleasant to be there. Really generous with the banchan. I love the banchan there, it's 4 different kinds but all of them complement the food you eat. I was on a tear last night. Ordered the teokbokki as an appetizer. Then went with the soondubu ramen combination with beef bulgogi. First of all, the ramen is definitely a big portion, combined with the tofu it's a lot. Medium spicy is good enough unless you like sounding like you're a recovering drug addict. My goodness. I took the ramen noodles out so I could make sure I had broth left. Ate very slowly because the picked radishes were so good and the kimchi cucumbers were also killer. The teokbokki was tasty, but nothing special. Price is good, sharing is fine. But in the future I love the combo idea because you get a small skillet of beef, onions, and peppers. Sweet and savory, paired with the ramen soondubu it's a LOT. We took the rice cakes home. I can't speak any higher about the cleanliness and service here. They all pitch in, and I wonder if they knew I was going to write something because I took so many pics. Either way I believe this is the best place for tofu stew in the OTP area. Support small businesses! I'll be back!

Chicken was so crispy, not overly oily and perfectly done. Everything was well packaged, and they even cracked the chicken packaging so it stays crispy.
