Came in with two friends. We were warmly greeted. Our server spoke perfect English. My friends ordered the calamari, caprese salad, spinach and eggplant. They loved it all. I ordered the filet with garlic sauce and French fries. The steak was massive. Our server said you can order a smaller size and I would definitely do that next time. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Tons of food and the prices were extremely reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Javi's is THE place to dine in Buenos Aires!

This family does it right! Amazing food and atmosphere at an affordable price! The bife de lomo is worth every ounce at an inexpensive price. Don't pass up the opportunity to savor and enjoy the provoleta! They will be moving locations at some point in March 2023, so be sure to check out the new location! Only a few blocks away!

We were directed to our table for the wine tasting by friendly staff, it was nice because it was just my husband and I. Our sommelier Javier was answered all our questions about Argentinian wines, and patient since both my husband and I were semi new to wines, also it didn't help that my husband was a bit tipsy from being at a brewery before we went for the tasting. The pours for the tasting was more than expected and not sure if it's because it was only two of us but we got a second pour for each type of wine. I ended up tipsy since my husband didn't drink the second pour. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and we bought a bottle recommended by Javier, that we will open for a special occasion soon. Will definitely come back for a romantic dinner next time we're in town, because this restaurant would be a perfect place to have a date, loved the setting, and the numerous types of wines.

If you're wanting the traditional 'parrilla' experience, keep looking. I loved it though! The service is fantastic. It seemed we had our very own person who looked after us. We started with a foie gras that was out off this world! I couldn't put my finger on a certain taste, until I tried a little dab of the sprinklings on the top. I thought it was shaved truffles, but it was actually a bittersweet chocolate! Never had that combination before, but it totally worked!! The salad was a little random for a Cesar, but we were fairly warned. The steak ( only one on the menu I believe) was outstanding! Evidently, you don't need to dine at a noisy brightly lit parrilla to get a good steak! Ask to see their wine "cellar"! We enjoyed every minute and every bite!

The best part is that this is a locals restaurant, and it has such a great feel. The minute you walk inm you are welcomed by a friendly staff and led to a table, we chose upstairs and were quickly seated. Our waiter was friendly and jovial, and spoke great english. He recommended a Malbec, and then we ordered a bunch of food, which came quickly. As we dined, the placed filled up quickly, and looking around, there was not an empty table in the place- upstairs or down. The restaurnat has an Italian family feel, white table cloths and worn, but classy china. Plus the grill is amazing. Overall, this place is excellent, and a local friend who I dined with said he will be making this place one of his regular stops!

The portions here are massive. And that's coming from someone who can usually put away a pretty serious steak. Here, though It's a lot even for me. Was it good Absolutely. But a little heads-up if you're visiting: learn how Argentinians order their meat. If you ask for jugoso, it'll land somewhere between rare and medium rare. Al punto is closer to medium, sometimes even leaning toward medium well depending on the kitchen. And well done. Honestly... don't even think about it. Another tip: don't rush to order sides. Unless you're just getting a salad or you're sharing with more than two people, one plate is usually more than enough. Around here, they believe in feeding you properly and they definitely deliver.
