I love this little coffee shop tucked away inside HSS. I always get my coffee and tea here, and never at Starbucks when I am on Main Street. I support the home town businesses whenever possible. There is a little hidden away place to sit among surfing memorabilia, and you can people watch as the people walk around Main Street down below. Also, there is outdoor seating. This is where locals grab beverages and snacks, and I have never been disappointed. I love HSS as a retailer, but I don't want Java Point to go unnoticed. read more

Nice little spot located in the HSS Surf shop, near the corner of PCH on Main Street. We had just finished our training for the upcoming 1/2 marathon and were in desperate need of calories. Stopped in ordered 1 honey/raisin bagel, 2 cups of coffee, and 2 bananas... All for $8, I call that a deal. Super reasonably priced, good selection of bagels & bagel/breakfast type sandwiches, delicious coffee, and super sweet employees. Had the Funky Monkey for breakfast. Wheat toast generously slathered with peanut butter and a yummy perfectly ripe banana, topped with honey. Had a cup of coffee to accompany and their little nook upstairs is perfect to perch and freelance from! Wifi is available and it's just an overall lovely atmosphere. The iced mocha is so amazing! Much better than most places. Chocolate flavor deeper, richer, but still balanced. Definitely not your standard Hershey's syrup flavor. I haven't had a mocha this good in like 30 years! Fyi, I had it with whole milk. I was there on a very busy Memorial Day holiday & yet I found service very friendly & got my drink pretty quick. It is true, there's a dog friendly vibe, but fine by me. Not a ton of seating, but I asked an older couple at an outside table which had an extra chair if I could please take that chair, they were so friendly & said sure, so I pulled it over and made my own spot! Note: Java Point is inside of longstanding locals' iconic surf shop, Huntington Surf & Sport, so vibe is very beachy, but kind of in an old guy surfer-y laid-back way. PS: it not a place to bring a laptop & study/work; more to hang out with friends/ family and/or people watch (or car watch -- this is Main St/PCH, HB!). Java point is, admittedly a little difficult to find. It is located inside a surf shop, but once you find it you've made a good decision. We found it on yelp when we were looking for a quick breakfast snack at about 11 o'clock in the morning. They had a great selection of fresh donuts and pastries and bagels and really good coffee. The prices are reasonable. We got a large coffee, an espresso & steamed milk drink, a massive doughnut, an everything bagel with a schmear and a bottle of kombucha. It was just over $17!! For all of that! Just steps from the sands of Huntington Beach! Amazing. Not sure why they don't have higher ratings. ‍ good food, good coffee, great prices, great location. Located inside Huntington Surf and Sport, it's a good option to corporate coffee--this is good coffee--a light roast with good nutty flavor and a thin body. It's always been hot and fresh every time I've come in. There's a nice little patio outside with locals and trippers around, and a little loft above the cafe inside the store is cool to hang out in. I like to go up here, read and get on the internet, which they supply free. Note to HSS staff: indoor voices would be nice if you're up here on your lunch break with food from other establishments. Customers first, right? I can just digest the 'likes' after every other word, but the volume is a bit much. Probably don't want to take the best table either, since customers would like to sit there. Other than the occasional distractions like that, this is a cool place. The used surfboards are up here, and a wall of photo memorabilia, which is all atmospheric and cool to take in. Back to the food--the pastries are fresh, I think they clear it out at the end of the shift, so I've never had a dried out, week-old pastry. The bagels are good, the breakfast bagels are an awesome bite--a good amount of ham and cheese, the croissants, too. Best place if you've just finished surfing, going on a beach run, or just want a good, fresh bite and you're on Main Street. And tourists...don't be so touristy, ok? read more

I work downtown so I've always been a regular at Java. Their works bagel is to die for and I'm in love with their soup. Every sunday I come to Java on my lunch break to get the broccoli cheddar soup. SO SO SO YUMMY. I honestly look forward to it. The only down side is that their large soup used to be 3.75 but they raised it to $5. If the portions were bigger it'd be okay but they don't even fill up your cup all the way to the top. Also the girls working are nice but get distracted easily and are slow. One girl scooped one scoop of my soup and then set it down to check her phone and reply to a couple texts, THEN got me my soup. Overall Great food!! read more

This is a small coffee counter inside a surf shop. We were looking for a place to grab a quick coffee and something to eat at 7am. Not a lot of options near the beach at this hour. We ordered a cappuccino and a egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The coffee was fine but the breakfast sandwich was a little weak. The egg was microwaved scrambled or something. Like something a college kid would make in their dorm room with a toaster and microwave. A bagel with cream cheese or a muffin would have been a better option. Can't complain though, I was happy that they were open early on a sunday. read more

I was craving hot chocolate, until I found this hidden little store in between surfboards. To my surprise not only they sold regular hot chocolate but also white chocolate. The lady assisting me was very warm and courteous; she even let me tried the got white chocolate since she saw that I was definitely going to end up having some. If you are craving some creamy and tasty hot chocolate, don't think it twice. This is your place! read more

The food is good but I can't get over the condition its in. It's dirty and needs a makeover.

The food is ok when your on the go the problem for me is it seems a little dirty in there. As I waited for my bagels I noticed dogs were in and out of this place and they prep food literally feet from were the dogs hang out. One guy came in with 2 German shepards and they basically were behind the counter plus they looked pretty gross. My bagel was prepared 5 feet away and I didn't even want to eat it. My favorite coffee place in HB. I love the location, right on the beach and you can check out the surfboards while waiting. Also, I love that they have some of the Hall of Fame sidewalk squares in there. Loved checking out the used boards, merchandise, and old pictures of Kelly Slater and company surfing some awesome waves back in the day. White mocha was delicious, my wife loved her drip coffee, and both of us had bagels with cream cheese. Took those to the beach and watched the waves and volleyball players which equaled the perfect morning. read more

Really awesome food and drinks at this little place but the service in Java Point absolutely sucks. One of the employees is so straight up rude every time I go in there. They have daily soups that they usually sell out of by 4 pm.... and they don't make more. I used to love this place before the change. I guess with interior redesign came poor and overpriced food and coffee. Mocha now tastes like a gas station hot chocolate priced like a top of the line hippster coffee. The view and ambiance is still there but if you are looking for a decent coffee go somewhere else. read more

The place looked cute, located inside a surf shop. Unfortunately I was wrong. They asked for the name for my order however never said anything when the drink came out. The second drink came out 5 minutes later. By the time my croissant came out my one drink was getting cold. While I was waiting for my bagel they acted as if I was a new customer and when I said I was waiting for a bagel they realized they hadn't put it in. There were three girls working and not a large crowd. By the time my bagel came out, someone else took it before I could grab it. I live in Orange County about 16 miles from tis location. We frequently go to HB especially when we have friends visiting from other states. We are about supporting local businesses. So yesterday we were looking for some coffee, the store was nice a mix between a coffee shop and clothing store, hence the one star rating. As we ordered our coffee and asked for a restroom, the cashier stated they didn't have one. Seriously, I thought to myself, what does staff do? Anyway, the coffee was horrible, and over priced. Save yourself, spend the extra and go to Starbucks, the prices are not that much different and you will get a great cup of coffee with a restroom available for paying customers . read more

This was our regular Saturday morning stop for our group of about six. The coffee was always good and you could even get a dollar cup if you brought your own cup in. All the treats were good and the help was very friendly, so you did mind a little wait sometimes. But now they changed everything, gone to Stump Coffee, which all of us coffee drinker feel it tastes real bad. The dollar cup deal also went away, sadly only a 0.15 cent discount if you supply the cup and if could stomach another cup of Stump coffee it would be a dollar refill. Sadly none of us could even finish the first cup. We have been back 3 times and the coffee is still bac. The old saying "if its not broken don't fix it" hold true here. Sorry Java Point, we were faithful customer but sadly we will be moving on to find a good tasting cup at a reasonable price. Rusty read more
