I was shocked at how long the line was (at 2 PM!) but I guess people love their Brecotea :) The array of pastries, both savory and sweet, was impressive. My wife and I got savory options this time around and they were decent, but everything was pretty unhealthy and my chicken curry roll was definitely cold in the middle. We also got lattes and they were really tasty. There's a good amount of seating throughout the restaurant and it's reasonably comfy. By the time we left around 5 PM, it was much less busy, so maybe hit up Brecotea around then if you're interested in a more chill experience. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back, although I may stick to the sweet pastries next time.

An Annelore's employee helped me with selecting about six cake slices and 2-3 different bars, plus some German cookies. The inside of the store is very clean, and there are some places to sit if you'd like to eat there. The employees were kind and helpful (and patient, in my case, trying to decide what to buy for a Book Club group I'd never met in person). Annelore's German Bakery is a wonderful way to take care of your dessert needs and support a local business at the same time. They asked me if I wanted my bread sliced, and when I replied in the affirmative, gave me a helpful chart with a lot of different options for how thick I wanted each slice :) I took the bread home, stuck it in the oven, and ate it with some butter and jam. So my 13 year old son and I rode our bikes to Java Jive this afternoon. It was 5:30 when we got into the shop. We rang the bell twice the guy came out of the bathroom not happy to see us since he was about to close I asked for a water my son asked for a mango smoothie. We don't usually go to places before closing but only time we had to spend sometime together with my health issues. Anyway the guy got pissed off started swearing shit throwing cups and dishes in the back..... I said woah not a big deal, don't worry about it, we can just go. We left didn't get water or smoothie and felt horrible like I wanted to cry.... Only time I get with my son lately and have to run into someone that has no time.... So disappointed . Also kinda disgusted. He could have just said he was just about to close I can only serve cold drinks.... I get it must have had a rough day. PLEASE label which items on your menu have common allergens. I am deathly allergic to nuts, so I always ask if something contains nuts. I genuinely did not expect a blueberry smoothie to contain nuts. Had I not asked before I ordered, I would have gone into anaphylactic shock. The cashier acted like nuts in a smoothie are a totally normal, common thing and I was crazy for asking. read more
