I have been trying to patronize local coffee shops and avoid the big chains so when we drove by, I pulled in to check out this shop. The staff was super friendly and our drinks came out crazy fast. Perhaps too fast? I ordered a Marvelous Mocha and it was really disappointing. With a name like Marvelous Mocha I expected something...marvelous. My partner and I moved here from New Orleans, and this is by far one of our most favorite stands in Seattle! The customer service is incredibly inviting, accommodating, and friendly. I am not a fan of super sweet drinks, and the baristas always cater to my needs, often times encouraging me to take a sip before driving off to ensure the drink is to my liking. I'm from Portland where Lotus drinks aren't as popular, I came and told them this is only the second time I've ever had it so make me whatever is good! We have since moved, but Java Jane and the gals that work there will always hold a special place in our caffeine addicted hearts. They are always busy, and there is good reason. The gals who work here make some pretty awesome drinks, some tend to lean sweeter but if that's not your thing let them know and they will adjust. My husband is a fan of any of their coffee drinks and they taste great hot or iced. I tend to be a more energy drink kinda gal and they know how to make a mean Lotus. Nothing is ever watered down or over saturated. I've worked 10 years+ in the coffee industry and this is the only stand in all of Seattle that offers such a wide variety of flavors and drink combinations. Their syrups are different brands, which is awesome because Torani almond is way better than Monin; but Monin has better vanilla. Maybe I'm the only person who really appreciates that cause I know the difference in taste haha so thank you!! Also the lotus energy....you gotta get some. As far as shack coffee places go, they do decently made lattes and friendly barista service. The barista that I always encounter is especially nice. And as the weather gets worse, I find myself seeking out drive-through coffee places so I can stay in the warm cocoon of my car! They have a loyalty punch card with double punches on Sundays. Do yourself a favour and donate those items to Goodwill then swing by here for a treat! read more

I always try to come here when I'm not in a hurry. They day that I went was on a sunday morning and the poor barista was working her butt off to serve all the cars in line. She must have been understaffed that day because she was trying to serve two windows, with a line of at least four cars on each side. Dear Java Jane, I have been going to this coffee shop for about eight months now because it's close to my house. I like their coffee (slightly overpriced) but it always tastes good. My issue is with the BARISTA (the blonde-possible manager-who works some mornings). If you are working in customer service you should have a great attitude. Every time I come through and she is working she barley makes eye contact, doesn't try to interact and comes off as short and cold (always an uncomfortable experience). Today was what pushed me over the edge and it is the LAST TIME I will ever go to Java Jane. The blonde was training a new barista and it was fairly busy. I ordered my drink from the trainee and when she was done with my drink she rang me up---while trying to figure out the system, the blonde mentioned to the trainee how she didn't like white coffee, made a crude remark as to how many shots I had asked for and had said it was basically shots and flavor. NEWS FLASH: NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR OPINION, EVERYONE LIKES THEIR COFFEE CERTAIN WAYS... it's not for you to judge!!!!!!!!!! The trainee was having difficulty running my card due to a system error and then the blonde tried but couldn't figure it out and said (without making eye contact with me or even in my direction) I could have the drink for free and the trainee gave me my cards back. I know what you're thinking...why is this lady complaining she got a free coffee??? Well, even if the coffee is good the BUSINESS IS CRAP WHEN YOU HAVE BAD EMPLOYEES. Java Jane has new ownership as of August 2018 and their changes have been much needed and amazing. All of the girls are so nice and friendly, and make a quality drink! They have DELICIOUS breakfast sandwiches and also serve Lotus which I love so much more than redbull. I'm constantly changing my drink and it always comes out amazing. I love that they use Dillano's, by far the smoothest and best tasting espresso I've had from a coffee stand. I'm currently really into just 4 shots of espresso over ice, and the shots they pull are great every time. They use Ghiradelli white chocolate powder which is really yummy too! This 'lil coffee stand is as cute as a bug in a rug. Or rather, the girls who work there are cute as bugs in rugs. Which explains my husband's affinity for going there versus the Starbucks right across the street. Java Jane is not unlike most parking lot, drive-thru coffee stands. They offer the typical fare - coffee, espresso, tea and treats. But the girls? They pretty much emulate the busty, '50s pinup girl on the stand's signage. Which explains the backup of cars every morning. It's not like the prices are so much cheaper than Starbucks. I'm guessing the regular patrons enjoy the titillating conversation from the blonde baristas. They do, however, offer some unique drink choices, like the Blonde Bombshell and the B-52, both super-sweet coffee concoctions. The few times we've driven through, we've never been disappointed in the coffee. But we've also never been blown away by it, either. And the girls always give our dog a little cookie. Which explains why she wags her tail a little more than usual upon driving up to the stand. All in all, there's a little something-something for everyone at Java Jane. read more

I love Java Jane's because the girls are friendly, they remember you, they always have a treat stashed away for Fido, and their espresso is DAMN good. They use Dillano's, which has a nice, earthy but smooth taste. Order the Blonde Bombshell and you won't be sorry - you just might wanna ask for less than the normal amount of white chocolate sauce unless you have a real sweet tooth. And their reader board offers a variety of flavor combinations, for those looking for something different. I also really appreciate that they don't JAM PACK the iced drinks with ice...they put in enough to make it an iced drink, but they don't use it as a way to save money by filling space with ice rather than coffee. (I worked at a movie theatre in high school. If you ordered a drink without ice we used the button for the next size up to fill the cup) The speed is perfect...and definitely faster than the drive-thru Starbucks across the street. If I'm really late I'll trudge up I-5 to make up some time and hit up Java Jane!
