Such a great experience here. The manager was very nice, super welcoming and made us feel comfortable right away. We didn't originally want to sit at the bar, but we ended up doing it and it actually turned out great. The place is cozy and beautiful, and the live music was such a nice touch. It really added to the whole experience. The food was excellent everything we had was on point. The only thing I'd suggest is offering small sides of tzatziki or hummus with dishes. The service was on point, and the servers were friendly and very attentive. JASS kitchen deserves a five star update! I stopped by for dinner last night, in what has become an unofficial tradition of Middle Eastern delicacies on Fridays. I was able to get cozy seating with a view of the stage where my regular dinner evolved into enjoying the concert of a Turkish rock band. The evening started with a bottle of Angora Wine, similarly to a light Chardonnay in taste and Proceeded to enjoy some of their delicacies like artichoke hearts (my first time trying the, shhh don't tell :) , dolma (grape leaves) and a very delicious Muhamarra chuck full of walnuts and cranberries for a tart yet mildly dessert taste. Speaking of dessert, their baklava à la mode is perfection. It has just the right amount of pistachio and is not overwhelmingly sweet. Roberto was very attentive with recommendations, pleasant and informed about the music at nine pm. As far as logistics, they charge about $40 as a music fee if you stay past nine for entertainment. Also, there is free parking both on the street as well as the lot across from the restaurant. Speaking of the entertainment, which was five star as well, this particular group, though obviously a rock band, Inc. traditional belly, dance music and what seemed like the Bolivian pan flute. Our friends highly recommended this spot for Turkish breakfast, so we decided to check it out. It's located near the Design District in Miami, and as soon as we walked in, the atmosphere gave off warm, cozy vibes with dim lighting and vintage furniture which created a unique setting that felt different from other places. This place was absolutely amazing. Came for an anniversary dinner and the service was out of this world. The amount of staff that came up to ask us how the meal was going was insane! They really make you feel at home and cared for. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday with a reservation and it was perfect timing. Live music started around 8pm. The hostess even asked if we would like to sit closer to the music or far enough to be able to talk. Efstathios our Server was 100000/10! And the FOOD! Out of this world! Can't say enough about his place. Second time going. Reservations are highly recommended, although we were lucky to have found a table for 2 by arriving early on. Service and ambiance are top notch. Turkish food is at its best here. We had the skirt steak and the Ali Nazik steak, both cooked to perfection with vegetables and the latter dipped in eggplant yogurt. Fantastic food! Cool place. I've never had a Turkish breakfast before. Service was very good. We came for brunch. I would be very interested in trying their dinner menu and enjoying the live music. The thing that really kills this place is parking. The neighborhoods all around it are resident-only, 24 hours a day. The street parking on the main drag, in front of them is also extremely limited. So finding a place to land can be challenging unless you Uber in and Uber out. The city is really doing this area's merchants a huge disservice without taking one of the many empty lots and turning it into some decent parking garage for the area that maybe has some electric car transit that moves people back-and-forth along that several mile strip. read more

Jass Kitchen is a true Turkish delight nestled within the charming Buena Vista neighborhood. The food is artfully presented and delicious with every bite, bringing Old World charm to a modern culinary aesthetic. Our server for the evening informed us it was her first night and we were her first table. The service was on point and we never needed to ask for a thing. Water? Always filled. Clean plates and cutlery between courses? You bet. She did a great job! We started with the Shepherd salad which was reminiscent of traditional tabouli, the garlic shrimp (excellent!), and the kopoglu, a medley of delicate eggplant, peppers, potato and tomato topped with yogurt, which was perfection with every bite. My man had the chicken soup of the day as well, which he said was quite good. The accompanying pita was never asked for (hello low carb life) but devoured as the perfect sponge to sop up the sauces from our appetizers. Oops. If I was at home I would have licked the plates. For the entree we opted to split the branzino. It was very delicious with lovely seasoned crispy skin, although was cooked a hair more than I would usually prefer. The lemony potatoes cooked in tomatoes gave a balanced creaminess to the fish that sealed the deal. One thing I've always loved about Mandolin down the street is you feel like you've been whisked away from Miami to a far away land. Jass Kitchen has managed to achieve a similar feeling, particularly with Vincent Raffard and The French Horn Collective providing the soundtrack of the night. If you had told me we had been transported to an intimate bistro in the heart of Europe, it wouldn't have taken much to convince me. A wonderful gem of a spot. Went for a friends bday dinner, just two of us, on a Sunday night. The space feels very intimate regardless of how many patrons are there. The outdoor patio is so lovely. The wait staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered the hummus to start and then the branzino and clay lamb as entree and food was so good. I still think this spot is underrated and I can confirm it's still SO good! If you're looking for an intimate restaurant with a cozy vibe look no further this is the spot. I've been back and tried a few new dishes and they never disappoint. The lamb chops were so good and tender cooked to perfection. The watermelon feta salad was super refreshing with the perfct balance of sweet and salty and the zucchini pancake was a delicious surprise crispy on the outside soft on the inside and full of flavor. One of the things I love most about this place is how you can truly feel the chef's passion in every dish. You can tell there's so much love and care put into the food which makes the experience even more special. As for parking there's plenty of street parking in the area but be careful some spots are residential and could get you a ticket if you're not paying attention. Just double check the signs before leaving your car. Still highly recommend this gem! read more

I made an 8:30 PM Valentine's Day reservation at Jass Kitchen and paid a $40 reservation fee in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We waited outside for about 20 minutes past our reservation time before being seated. Once inside, the dining room was severely overcrowded. Tables were placed so close together that servers repeatedly bumped into my girlfriend throughout the short time we were seated. It was obvious additional tables had been added for the holiday, and the atmosphere felt chaotic and cramped rather than romantic. I specifically chose this restaurant for what I believed would be an intimate Valentine's setting, and that expectation was completely undermined. Service was equally disappointing. Our server appeared to be handling far too many tables. We did not receive water for approximately 15 minutes after sitting down, and by 9:15 PM -- 45 minutes after our reservation time -- we had still not been able to order drinks. At that point, we decided to leave and find dinner elsewhere. We ultimately paid $40 for a reservation where we were never properly served and did not dine at the restaurant. I reached out privately to give them an opportunity to address the issue but did not receive a response. Valentine's Day is a special occasion, and this was not the evening I had planned. read more

Absolutely fabulous. The ambiance is wonderful and the food is bomb. The inside feels both cozy and chic. It feels true to itself in a way that not all restaurants here do. The live music is so fun and I love that they would take intermissions so you can chat with your table then tune back in. There were many vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options which were both filling and delicious. We tried pretty much all of the vegetarian mezze and they were lovely. Also tried some of the cheeses. My personal favorites from the evening were the watermelon salad and the feta cheese, but truly everything we ate was fabulous. We randomly found this location while in the area and looking for dinner. Since they are located in a neighborhood, parking was challenging. We ended up parking in the garage and walked over. So I was surprised that we initially could not be seated as they were fully booked at 6pm. No one was seated outside and we were confused. Another young lady approached the hostess table and informed us that we can sit but need to be out by 8:30 when their reservations were due to arrive. Since we went through the hassle of finding parking for 30 minutes we decided to stay. I was shocked to walk into a mostly empty restaurant. We ordered for the table a shared appetizer, entree and cocktails. The chorizo was small circular pieces that did not seem to fit the price point. Both entrees were delicious as were our drinks. Nearing the 8pm mark we found it challenging to locate any server to get the check and be out before the required 8:30. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was well decorated and felt homely. The band and singer were setting up and the place was picking up guests. I came here for HH and it did not disappoint! Every single item I tried was 10/10 delicious!! The ambiance was very cozy and cute. It was a small place with a L-shaped bar. The music was good, the service was fantastic, and everyone there just very kind. For Happy Hour they have BOGO drinks and I ordered the Rosé Watermelon Lemonade, delicious! For HH snacks, I got the hummus with ground beef, muhamra, the eggplant, and the garlic shrimp. I'd say my favorite items were the hummus with ground beef and the garlic shrimp. This Turkish restaurant is exceptional. We started with a spicy hummus dip and garlic shrimp. The dip was velvety smooth with a real kick. The garlic shrimp were enveloped in a sauce that you will want to keep for dipping. The special that night was a ravioli stuffed with beef - sounds simple but was nothing short of excellence. Small hand made ravioli with a delicate beef served in a yogurt sauce. I would go back any time just for this. The chef owner is on site and is creating some of the best new flavors of Miami. Very unfortunate experience. We didn't have a reservation and were walk-in. Server at the entrance told us there's absolutely no way we can seat inside. She said they were all booked for inside. So we sit down. Outside area is not nice at all. The outside is nowhere near living out to the level of restaurant they pretend to be. La Carreta outside is 100% nicer. And it has a TON of insects. There are only QR code menus. The waitress comes up to us and goes "oh you already scanned it nice" and doesn't even offer a paper menu. Not like I can't scan a QR code, but it's another instance of this place cutting corners: first with shitty outdoor area, then with menus. As we sit, I check whether they actually fully booked, because indoor area seemed very empty. Guess what? There are reservations available for our time as we sat there. Horrid service where they lie to your face. We weren't even dressed bad, both guys were dressed nice. Maybe bc we are young they thought they can't profit off of us that we don't deserve inside seating. Which is not true. Absolute disappointment. I had brunch here last Sunday with some friends, one of whom is Turkish. Coincidentally, the manager or server happened to be from the same area of Ankara that she is from, so we had a great connection! I'll get the negative out of the way first... PARKING! There isn't any, and Jass is on a residential block with residential zoned parking. We were there on Sunday, so there was limited free parking in a lot across the street, but I don't think that's available on weeknights (not sure; YMMV). I actually drove around a bunch and then gave up and parked five blocks away in front of a rental property I own nearby. We had a reservation but it wasn't needed - the restaurant was only about half full. We got great attention and service... friends brought a bottle of bubbly and I don't know what the corkage was, but the restaurant put it in an ice bucket for us and kept the glasses filled. We ordered the scallion pancake, the Turkish breakfast and some simit (Turkish "bagel"). A savory pastry filled with something was also brought to the table, although we didn't order it and weren't charged for it. The verdict on the food: The scallion pancake was "just like in Turkey" - I've never been to Turkey, but I absolutely will take the native's word for it, and it was DELICIOUS! The simit was perfect, warm, crusty on the outside, chewy on the inside. Just delightful; I ate WAY too much of it! The Turkish breakfast was good... we had to ask for the hardboiled eggs, which were seasoned perfectly. It came with a lot of small bites of things, such as feta, apricots in honey, nutella, sweet and savory pastries. It was a good overview; the Turk in our group thought it was average as far as Turkish breakfasts go. I would probably order one dedicated thing next time after previewing the options! The service was attentive although not overly friendly. The interior was lovely; there was plenty of room between tables so it didn't feel crowded. She is a keeper on dozens of levels. $32 for an Adana Kebap is easily $5 more than it should be, but since there is free live music -- I can live with it. The thing that will keep me from coming back is the jammed in tables. I have been working from Turkey and Japan most of the past 11 months. Sometime since my last visit to Jass Kitchen, the stage was shrunk, moved to the front and a half dozen tables were jammed in. I get it. It feels like revenue. More tables with more people ordering more food and drink = profit enough to pay rent + staff + supplies. I consider your experience -- service + food + music + ambiance to be high end. High end places NEVER jam in people cheek to jowl. Servers that were not anorexic were struggling to move between tables. I bumped a person the table next to me -- who I do not know -- with my elbow when simply getting my phone out of my pocket. Jamming in tables to the point of making customers uncomfortable is extremely foolish and short sighted. I will not be returning until someone tells me at least 4, 4-person tables have been removed. I don't run up a check close to $200 for a pair of people -- to be more crowded than an army basic training mess hall. You are being pennywise and pound foolish. read more

This neighborhood restaurant could be a 4/5 star if it just tightened up the service. There were only 5 tables and at least 5 servers when we arrived for dinner but the service was very slow and unprofessional. 1. When a table is being used for fewer people than the number of settings, the server should clear the extra plates and cups. Even as they brought the food and there was clearly not enough room they still didn't think to remove the plates. 2. Servers should clean the table in between appetizer, mains and dessert. We cleaned it ourselves and then handed them the plates. 3. Asked for silverware when they brought our dishes out but after asking 2 times and waiting 10 mins by which time the appetizers were cold, decided to grab silverware from another table. 4. Asked for dessert and after waiting for 30 mins we asked for the check. After another 30 mins and asking several different servers we finally got the check (with additional charges, which took another 10 mins to remove). 5. Asked for condiments which arrived when we finished our meal. Food was overall good other than the portion of the lamb chops being too small for a main course. Consists of 3 very small lamb chops which means 3 bites of lamb. The rice also didn't taste fresh. Some staff training would get it to a 4. Quite sad that bad service can make an otherwise mostly tasty meal a disappointment. read more

Stumbled into a beautiful hidden gem today at Jass kitchen. Somehow ended up right in front of the beautiful live music jazz duo for a front row experience. Inside was very charming. A lot of great care went into curating the unique and warm vibe. They took risks with the real candle light and fresh flowers, and it paid off and was appreciated. I even liked the ceiling style and the hanging artwork. Service was excellent. Everyone was working very hard and supporting each other. Dishes were clearly explained. Water re poured constantly. Food came out at good pacing and never once did I feel rushed. Food was superb. I will be back for the clay lamb pot and then back again for the same. In between, I will probably dream about it. It was incredibly fresh and tender. The brioche bread hit the spot. Fantastic. Great flavoring and quality. The muhammara was very fresh... you could taste the natural red pepper. Likewise on the baklava! To be really honest, the food was outstanding and reminded me of the food quality I got at a nice restaurant in Turkey. That alone is a hard feat to pull off and yet they knocked it out of the park with the ambiance, live music, and service to exceed expectations as well. This was a very easy five star review. Haven't been to Turkey yet, but from a far I Love the people and the food! We accidentally found this place while walking to another popular place close by, and it is a gem. The food is essentially "Mediterranean" which we Love in all forms, but for us it is the variation in the seasonings.
