My husband and I ate brunch here on our last day in Nashville. It was highly recommended by our hotel co fierce and was right by the hotel. My husband ordered the breakfast pizza and I had two eggs over east with extra crispy bacon and potatoes. We also check in on the Yelp app and was able to try one shared plated. I was thrilled that this restaurant had that option as it was the only one we ate at with a perk in Nashville and Louisville. We both loved our meals. We went to Jaspar's for a pre wedding get together where a section had been reserved inside for the group. Seems like a pretty cool place, but it was very hot inside and only had bar service. We didn't stay long, only had an ice water, no food, so I can't say much about this place. We'll definitely go back another time and try them out on our own because it really looks like a place we'd enjoy. read more

Jasper's is a solid Americana-style local restaurant sitting on West End Ave that has become one of our favorite spots in the city for a chill brunch, casual dinner date and even a place to bring friends and family during visits! When you walk in you are greeted by a massive 30 seater bar with several TV's to ensure you catch the game...if that is what you came for. On the other side of the bar there is library looking nook that has some games including shuffleboard and finally near the front you have their market. The vibe of Jasper's is boat club/nautical for me with lots of white, blue and light browns from the floor to the chairs and light fixtures. The menu has a bit to offer for everyone and has some classic dishes that they have slightly elevated. Our absolute go-to on every visit is the Queso, Chips and Rinds! It is not your standard queso, as they toss in black beans, salsa and chorizo plus they give you pork rinds in addition to chips...and if you have never dipped a pork rind into some queso, you ain't living yet! Sometimes we swing by, belly up to the bar, grab a few cocktails and the queso for our night out. Simple and delicious perfection! In addition to stellar apps, the mains have always been decent. Not the best food in Nashville, but it hits the spot for sure! I have sampled across the menu from the Mexican Street Corn flatbread to the Patty Melt and even the Turkey Wrap. My favorite was the flatbread, followed by the patty melt with the turkey wrap being my least favorite. It was not bad, but it was lacking a sauce as it was super dry. I always get their sweet potato waffle fries as a side and get their house-made ranch dressing to dip them in! With that massive bar, you can imagine that they have a wide variety of beers, wines and cocktails! I always go basic with a Gin & Tonic, but my partner and friends usually go for the specialty cocktails. One of our favorites is adding bourbon to the Blackberry Beret, which is a mocktail on the menu. Service has always been solid here with our waitresses and bartenders always friendly and on point! We came here as a convenient spot to grab food with some friends. The menu was large and accommodated everyone's various food preferences. The cauliflower poppers were massive-the appetizer is really like a meal and a half! They weren't too greasy, which I like, and the Sunflower hummus & roasted red pepper dips it came with were very good. I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich for my meal. It came with pineapple, arugula, onion, & garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. Overall it was okay; the chicken is super generic, so relatively flavorless, but the other items on there helped. For my side I got the Bang Bang Brussels, which were charred as they should be. I'd get those again, but probably not the sandwich. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quick. Overall I'd describe Jaspers as a decent casual establishment with full bar, fun drinks and plenty of options for any palate. The prices are on the higher side for average food but you're also in Nashville close to downtown so it has the tourist trap market. I was there with a bachelorette party and the service was pretty good. The worst of the night was the bride's food took forever to come out. Everyone was basically done eating by the time they brought her food out. To make up for it, they just gave her a free dessert, that she didn't want. I had a massive platter of steak nachos. The nachos themselves were good but the steak was unevenly cooked. The rest of the party was fairly pleased with their meals. I would return but order something different; however given all the other options in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

Stopped by this place several weeks ago while on a business trip with some of my coworkers and it was definitely not the first type of place I would've chosen, but I was starving and happy to eat anywhere. Looks like the restaurant is centered around the bar which is not too surprising for Nashville I suppose. The menu was mainly American food, all the standard entrees were there. I decided to go a little fancy this time and ordered the Seared Salmon with ravioli. The salmon was cooked nicely, but was just soaked in so much butter, my stomach didn't feel so great afterward and you order salmon to be a little healthier! However, this is not too weird as restaurants love butter since it tastes so good. The part of the meal that was disappointing was the ravioli. The filling was simple and unbalanced. And the dough was far too thick. A good ravioli should have thin dough and we'll balanced filling so I was sad to see both lacking here. Brought down the quality of the meal unfortunately. I ordered the Prime Sirloin and when my entire arrived, steak was over cooked when asked Medium Well. They remade the steak and the second go-round it was Medium Rare. Ask the waiter for it to be a Slight Light Pink Center. Finally, the third time making corrections it was better and came out to my liking with the Slight Light Pink Center. Service could've been better, seemed so rushed barely asked if my table was okay. Ordered some cocktails as well and they were actually pretty good to our liking. Also, parking is free for 3 hours. We stopped in for an early dinner on NYE before getting ready to go out to a party later that night. Because it was on the early side, we got a table pretty easily and ordered some cocktails right away. We started with some apps and I loved the addition of pork rinds to the queso. I would eat a whole plate of those with queso. Our server mentioned he was new but you would have never known otherwise because he was on his game. Our only issue was a couple of us ordered the creole pasta and got part way through before realizing there was no sausage or chicken in the dish. Our server checked with the kitchen and they assured him that it was in there. Then a manager came by and confirmed that it was not. She brought us both a portion of chicken and sausage and the plates were so large we added it to our leftovers. Came here with a group of 8 and they accommodated us immediately. We were lucky to have Tianna as our server. This woman is incredible! Friendly, agile and just fabulous. I started with the cauli-poppers for my appetizer. They were so good! Fresh and full of flavor. For my dinner I had a BLT w/ French fries. This sandwich was perfectly constructed with all the ingredients fresh and delicious! Tianna went above and beyond constantly checking on our table. She even asked if we wanted the checks split and when we didn't want to inconvenience her she happily insisted that it wasn't a hassle and did it anyway. She was such a sweetheart! It's very nice that jaspers will validate parking for you so we were able to park here for dinner for free then park at the Preds game without having to pay to park twice! The restaurant is pretty quiet & has a nice atmosphere. The food and service were excellent! The burgers were great and the drinks were as well! The frozen rosé was lovely and we were early enough we were able to get happy hour prices on drinks! Jaspers was a great option & made pre-game dining easy! I went with a friend during March because we got a free shareable appetizer. We chose the caulipoppers. These were perfectly cooked. Not too crispy but not too mushy. It was served with 3 sauces, the feta one was the best. The waiter said if we wanted more we could just ask for more. We sat at the bar area, which is very spacious. It was nice that the menu had non alcoholic beverages that weren't just coke or sprite. We actually had the cbd drinks and they were good. The place was really clean and we had good service. The reason I give this 4 stars was because the bathroom was a bit messy and needed a little TLC. Just went to Jaspers for the first time in over a year and what a disappointment. Nobody at front to greet us. After almost 10 min a frowning worker seated us in the bar area. In town for the sports weekend and stayed at the University. Jaspers is just across the street on West End and very convenient to walk to. We did make a reservation and were seated a little early. The atmosphere is good and there is a large bar in the middle of the restaurant. They have a full bar selection and we had a bucket of beer for $25 which is reasonable for 6 beers. We shared two appetizers which were "The Big Cheese" sticks and the Caulipoppers. The cheese sticks are cooked into 2 long sticks. They come with marinara. The sticks were cooked good but the cheese didn't seem to "string" when you bit into them. The taste was ok. The Caulipoppers were good. They come with 3 sauces including roasted red pepper sauce, sunflower hummus, and feta cream. The feta cream was a table favorite. Our entrees included the crispy chicken sandwich (Hot) with wedge fries, the southern fried chicken wedge salad, the Power Bowl, the Lettuce Wraps and the Smash Burger. The chicken sandwich had a large piece of fried chicken that covered the whole bun. I wasn't a huge fan of the hot sauce but the coleslaw was very good and balanced the sandwich flavors. The fried chicken salad had 2 large breast fillets on it. The Lettuce Wraps had lots of flavor. It was a dish that was liked more with each bite as the flavors blended together. The Power Bowl was packed with flavors and the Smash Burger was good as any. Our server was very attentive and did a nice job taking care of us. Overall good experience at Jaspers. read more

My friends and I had a great time at Jasper's--the building has been so many restaurants over the years. I had never heard of Jasper's until my friend suggested we meet up there. The food was great. Our server was excellent. The food and drinks came out promptly and accurately. All plusses. We shared the Firecracker Wings, Redrum Roasted Wings, Summer Succotash, and Firecracker Brussels. The wings were good--I liked the Redrum Roasted Wings over the Firecracker Wings which were too sweet for me. The succotash was awesome, as were the Brussels. I ordered the Jasper Burger with a side of the Sweet Chili Charred Broccoli. The burger was juicy with a nice bun to meat ratio. The broccoli was really good--a little bitter to balance out the sweet chili and cooked so that it was not crunchy and not mushy. I will definitely go back to Jasper's. Besides the service, which was standard, this restaurant is beyond subpar. From the lighting/ambiance to the food it was awful. The light was trying to be warm but it seemed more hospital like, and felt very uncomfortable. The burgers we ordered were not worth ingesting- the meat had a strange taste to it that not even the mayo could mask, it was over salted, overcooked, and dry. The sweet potato fries were also overcooked and inedible. Two bites of each and throw the rest in the trash. Not to mention everything is extremely overpriced if you won't end up eating most of it- $16 for a burger that the twice daily down the road could beat, really? It is good for families though, and that's probably what keeps it in business- it's for sure not the food. read more

From out of town visiting Nashville, we ordered a pizza from here and it was delicious. Off the kids menu, the burger was blend and the bread was too hard for a 7 year old to bite into she was upset that there was no ketchup in her burger so we had to use the ketchup from our side of fries we ordered since the server was nowhere to be found. But I did like how for the kids menu they had a bit more options compared to the basic kids menu everywhere else where it's tenders and fries or a burger, even tho my 7 year old chose a burger. Why the low rating? Well the host wasn't really welcoming when we walked in and she wasn't even standing in the front when we got there. Her face and attitude was unpleasant, even as we walked out when we were done. I'm used to having drinks served before food is served. Food came out before my drink because our server forgot it. Barely even saw our server to begin with. This wasn't our first option but it was our last since everywhere else was so busy. I saw that they probably just had a party before we came in for lunch because a lot of the tables around us was really dirty and they told us it was a 10 minute wait even tho it didn't look busy at all. read more

i was surprised to see unique vegan options on the menu... not just your usual impossible burger. the tempura batter was surprisingly vegan which was amazing. i got the caulipoppers which were so good. the tempura batter was crispy and delicious. i was also excited to see they had a vegan eggplant parm. unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations but I was happy to have the option. the tempura batter didn't hold up well under the sauce. the vegan ricotta was very sparse and the vegan "parm" was just a few crushed up cashews. I've been to Jasper's a few times and have had great experiences. I've sat on the patio both times and my guests were so grateful that they had outdoor seating. The weather was gorgeous. Our waitress was friendly and grabbed our brunch drink orders. Everyone really liked their drink order. I had the delicious $5 mimosa! My friends got the $5 Bloody Mary and one got it extra spicy. Another friend got a screwdriver and the balance was excellent. For starters, we got the sweet potato bbq fries. There was plenty of ancho cherry pulled pork! The pickled onion was delicious. I honestly would have liked more pickled and green onion. I liked that the ginger cream was light.We were all able to take a nice portion that held us over before our entrees came. I had the Little Scamp flatbread. The flavors were delicious! Every piece had a gulf shrimp which I appreciated. It was topped with roasted garlic ricotta, mozzarella, broccoli, lemon oil, and red pepper jam. The standout was the red pepper jam! Yum! The broccoli is small and petite. I really liked the flat read and how crispy it was. My friends ordered the Pig & Hash which is a potato hash, slow-cooked pork shoulder, pig sauce, sunny eggs, and chive Hollandaise with greens. Another friend ordered off the brunch sides and had bacon and two eggs. We had a wonderful time. The staff was attentive while giving us our space. I came to this restaurant once on a weeknight. There is plenty of parking. The bar is the main focus and it was a pretty good crowd when we arrived. The staff were friendly and attentive. They didn't make any recommendations or share any seasonal selections if they offer any. My salad with grilled chicken was okay, but I quite loved my nieces chicken tenders and fries from the children's menu. It was a large portion and good price. Happened to visit Nashville on New Year's and all the places I wanted to try were closed. Lucked out and saw that Jasper's had some hot chicken so I was ecstatic. Hosts sat us quickly. There's a QR code inside to get your parking validated. Pretty big bar. Our server was amazing. Our Caulipoppers app was interesting, definitely a big portion so we couldn't finish. The sweet potato fries were probably the best thing I ordered... My bf and I both took one bite of the Mild Hot Chicken Sandwich and immediately placed it down because we truly believed that was XXXSpicy. It ruined our appetite. I love spicy foods and eat them all the time, but can confirm that it was not mild. The crispy outside parts of the chicken is considerably more spicy than the inner. Just be careful, I also read a little too late that you can ask for non spicy but that's no fun. Just wish it was less spicy so it would be edible. We were invited to attend the soft opening, and jumped at the chance. Any Deb Paquette resto is worthy of a first look. Jasper's is located in the space formerly occupied by Saltine; while we miss Saltine's oysters and seafood, we were intrigued by the Jasper's menu. If you haven't been there, the space is open and airy, with a large central bar, and dining rooms around it. There's also a dining room that can be enclosed for private events. We were seated near the "game room"; when Deb stopped by our table to chat, she mentioned that they planned to place a "bar shuffleboard" table in that space. Those seeking the "sports bar" experience won't be disappointed; the bar features television sets in all directions and a playful atmosphere. The menu was large, and filled with intriguing options. We started with pulled pork over sweet potato waffle fries; the portion was large, the fries were crisp and greaseless, and the pork was tender, succulent, and featured just the right amount of smoke. We also opted for the "Caulipoppers"; a riff on the iconic roasted cauliflower dish at Deb's fine dining establishment, Etch. I didn't think that the Etch dish could be improved upon ... but changing the prep method from roasting to tempura frying was pure genius. Do not miss this dish! For our main courses, we chose the "Yardbird" and the Steak and Egg. The Yardbird featured one of the most tender and juiciest airline breasts I've ever had, surrounded by light and crispy potatoes. The Steak and Egg was cooked as ordered (medium rare), and served over a crispy potato cake. Both hit the spot. We also enjoyed cocktails; the "Froze" and the "Mule". Deliciously dangerous. The pricing was perfect; I could see coming to Jasper's twice a week, and not spending more than $75-80 for two, with drinks, each time. There's also a small "general store" area that features local products, and, according to Deb, will also feature "grab and go" meals. Highly recommended for a fabulous, affordable meal in a fun atmosphere in Midtown Nashville. read more

I am generally a fan of Deb Paquette's ventures and co-ventures and this one can join the ranks! This place is more casual than her more fancy Etc. but top notch service and unique creative menu items are provided. On Day 2 that they were open I tried the turkey apple wrap to go and it was fabulous. Another time I knew I wanted the veggie dumpling salad and I thought it would probably be better to eat that on-site. I added some grilled shrimp and everything went together perfectly. For a full meal, I tried The Yardbird, and once again, all the flavors and textures went together really well I also really appreciated they had some unique non-alcoholic drinks on their menu and I tried their blackberry beret which was bubbly and flavorful but not too sweet. The cookie sampler sounds awesome but I have opted for the lemon cheesecake for dessert 2x. It's the sort of cheesecake where you eat it really slowly with little bites to make it last longer. As an aside for 2020: they were doing a great job wearing masks and having the tables socially distanced. One last thing!: They have a little market to the side where you can buy pre-made sandwiches and salads, cupcakes, cookies, homemade ice cream, souvenirs, and various shelf-stable treats. They seemed to be lacking in flavor so they were just kinda bland even with the dips. I got the Mexican Street corn pizza and was pretty disappointed. What happened to this place? It has sadly gone downhill and one has to wonder when they'll close. Went by on a weekend afternoon and it was dead. No receptionist. No staff walking around. And more empty tables than the eye could see. Finally some 7-10 minutes after waiting at an empty reception counter where it said wait to be seated, a disgruntled waiter that clearly looked unhappy to be at work with no service personality came out and saw us at the reception. He begrudgingly seated us at a table after trying to pass us off to sit at the bar so he wouldn't have to work. Some 5 minutes later he came with waters that he slammed down on the table. Since the restaurant business is about service and this restaurant stopped caring with no workers or workers with no interest being there except being rude, we left thereafter. No reason to patronize a place that totally didn't care enough to serve its customers. We found a different restaurant to go to. Just wondering when this restaurant will close.
