Jasper's in previous visits has been great. This time not so much, we were seated relatively fast considering how busy they are on the weekends. The wait staff was great and responsive. Unfortunately that's the end of the good part of the review, especially after spending $20+ for one burger and a small sweet potato fries. The potato fries were good (kinda hard to mess up), as for the burger we wanted to try something different so I opted for the moab. I appreciate the effort to create something different, this was just all around bad. It had one slice of bacon, maybe a tablespoon of shredded pork, the camel meat which is always great, too much slaw, some soggy jalapeno crisps and what appeared to be 1/3 cup of a runny syrup like barbecue sauce? The sauce was so sickening sweet that you couldn't even taste anything else, not even a hint of barbecue-esque flavor. Just sweet syrup, just to make sure the earlier point comes across the jalapeno crisp were soft and mushy from the poured on syrup. There was so much it was in a puddle when I lifted the burger up, and it ran out while trying to eat it. If you like some burger with your syrup then this one is for you. I don't normally leave this long of a review, I just felt Jasper's should rethink this one. read more

At Jaspers you can enjoy good burgers, great onion rings or even a good salad with your dog! We sat outside and the first offer from the waiter was if he could give Moke (our dog) a special doggie ice cream. Once Moke was taken care of he brought our beverages and took our order. Truly some of the best burgers we've ever had! They were juicy, delicious, huge portions....Wow! Jaspers has beef as well as exotic meat burgers. A head's up: everyone loves this place so it's always crowded. Be ready to wait and good luck finding a place to sit. But, the people here are super nice and work hard to get you fed as soon as possible. The other drawback is that it sits beside 99. So, if you choose to sit outside you have to deal with the noise and traffic (not a great view!) And, it isn't fancy looking by a long shot. But, if you can put all that aside, go enjoy a burger that will have you coming back again and again.! read more

Stopped in for dinner on our 8.5 hr college tour drive. Picked it looking for good burgers in a town we needed to get gas. Reviews looked good so we stopped in. Once again, yelp reviewers got it right. Service was great and so was the food! I got the Pearl Hart for the grass fed beef. After driving up seeing all of those wonderful happy cows it was what I had to have. Also got the sweet potato fries. Both were perfect. Don't think I'd ever had a huckleberry before but it was an all around good burger. My daughter just got a basic cheeseburger with added avocado and regular fries but said hers was delicious too. It was an adorable little place. Would've loved to have sat outside but it was a bit too cold for us. read more

Not sure if I would ever stop in Medford by choice again but if I do Jaspers will be the excuse. I don't ever go to burger places per se unless they serve game burgers and Jaspers does. Dog friendly with a nice large area to eat outside. And everyone working there that I encountered during my visit was friendly and helpful. I ordered one jackaroo on a bun and one prepared "Joey" style which is basically the same ingredients but entirely encased in bread. A Jackaroo is similiar to "A Burger with the Lot" in Australia without the beetroot and made with kangaroo meat. Actually when I have been in Australia I remember burgers made of beef and/or buffalo meat. With all that said "The Jackaroo" is a great substitute and I enjoyed it. I would pass on the "Joey" style next time though and stick with the basic. The order of fries was pretty good and a decent size. Been coming to Jaspers since I was little. Even my auntie worked there 20 years ago. It is the best burger place I have ever been to. I love the variety of meats and different specials they make to keep offering something new. Then again if you simply want a cheese burger its still my favorite place to go. I had the Pearl Heart and just loved the flavors. The C2 meat is as good as beef gets. My wife had very tame bacon burger. Tame but still a very very tasty C2 Ranch burger. Burger ideas looked great at first but terrible execution the meat was flavorless, took a long time even though there's only 7 tables in the restaurant they also messed up our orders. We ordered shakes to go, as a family of 5 it took them 15 minutes to make the shakes and upon arrival the shakes were in paper cups with lids with no labels on them and we went inside to ask which shake is which they had no idea and told us we have to figure it out which is awesome. The milkshake is not worth $5 and it was like drinking sugar with milk in it it was not thick at all. read more

Love the place. Great menu, decent prices. I would give them 5 stars, but I noticed a slight decrease in quality over the past year. To them I say this: people *do* notice quality, and will pay a slightly higher price for it, especially at a place like this. Jaspers has pretty good not so fast food, and as far as burgers go, they have a lot of variety. But can I say one very true thing here... They are WAY overpriced for what you get! You need over $10 to get one burger and a soda. If you order anything else you'll easily pay $15 or more per person. If it's wintertime then you're lucky to get a seat in their very small dining room which leaves you freezing outside at a picnic table, or eating your expensive burger in your car. If I'm gonna spend this kind of money for a burger I'd rather go to Porters or the Jacksonville Inn. read more

Their food is amazing. If our service had been better it would have been 4 or maybe 5 stars but our server forgot about us for the longest time after we'd eaten. We weren't checked on or offered refills on drinks or anything and we had to wait a very long time after our table was cleared by someone else for the check to come. Man, I hate hype. Hype is the worst. So many people have told me "go to Jaspers, best burgers ever." so today, with boyfriend in tow, we head out early before the huge lunch rush. I don't know what to say. The place was full, save for one small table in the corner. The menu was overwhelming to say the least. I didn't know what to order so I ordered a swiss mushroom burger. My boyfriend got a veggie burger. We sat down and waited an expected amount of time. During that time the owner, I presume, brought out orders and chatted with each table for an uncomfortable amount of time about the food they're eating. Our food came. The burgers were huge. The fries on the side were absolutely huge portions. I think I've mentioned in my reviews before that I don't necessarily care for huge portions, but as long as the quality matches the quantity, who am I to complain? The fries were just normal, run of the mill, greasy fries. I ate maybe 4 and left the entire basket full. The burger. Oh the burger. Such potential. Such a let down. The burger was big and so so so greasy. So greasy in fact, that for the first time in my life, I had to pat my burger down with a paper-towel. The mushrooms were pretty much raw. Starchy and flavorless. I took them off my burger, along with the thin and watery piece of tomato. I planned on finishing the burger, or as much as I could, because it tasted much better without the mushrooms on it so I was stoked. BUT THEN... The owner comes to our table to harass. First he starts badgering my boyfriend about eating a veggie burger because another customer in the store was. No, you don't understand, he said something about the veggie burger 3 times. Before turning to me and asking if I wasn't happy with my food. I made the mistake of being honest by saying I thought the mushrooms would be cooked. WHOOOO BOY. I got the spiel of a century about how he wants his chefs to cook his mushrooms. I started to apologize and say that it's ok. And he KEPT INSISTING on cooking the mushrooms. NO DUDE JUST LEAVE ME THE SHIT ALONE. He then started pulling these "bucks" out of his pocket for our next visit, making a scene so the small and full restaurant was all now looking at me. It was so embarrassing that I began to shake and just pushed my food away. I waited for my boyfriend to finish his last bites, left my almost entire burger and entire basket of french fries and the "bucks" on the table and left. HUMILIATING! No thanks. I'll stick with the little burger shop downtown that is always quiet and quick. My boyfriend sorta disagreed with me and called it "good customer service" but I think good customer service has to do with being able to read your customers. SOME customers don't like to be harassed while they eat. SOME customers become easily upset and don't like confrontation so instead of complaining and sending food back, they eat the parts they like. Had they just left us alone, I think we might have become customers. No chance now. read more

I had never been here before tonight. I have to travel to medford once a month for work and this was my first trip. I used yelp to find something close to my hotel and found Jaspers. They had some very interesting burgers and only 2 miles away, so I gave it a try. I tried the jiffy because I like weird stuff. it easy definitely weird, but totally awesome. the staff was very friendly awesome very fast. The amount that of food for the price was astonishing. I got a huge deluxe burger, a giant side of tots and a craft beer for maybe a couple of bucks more than a soggy combo meal at a fast food joint. I will definitely be back next month! read more

We really wanted to love the place but the lack of service ruined it. We sat outside and were not served water or acknowledged for over twenty minutes. Every time we tried to flag the waitress down she would look away. It was extremely odd. Finally my husband got up and got the water himself. The owner was great and apologized. We came by at 10:55am (Yelp states 10:30am open) and wandered into the restaurant. We noticed the "support local" sign, so we wanted to try a hometown burger. We took a step in the unlocked door and was rudely told that we won't be served until 11:00am. We were told, "you'll know when we're open and to wait outside." Thanks for "hometown" hospitality. As I'm typing this, we roll through In N Out and we have a young man waving to us as we go through the drive thru. Is the quality the same? I couldn't tell you. Every single time I have been there, I have received top notch customer service, and the food is excellent. I was able to get my ultra-conservative dad from the Midwest to try some exotic meat here once (honestly do not remember if it was ostrich or kangaroo or something else, this was a few years ago, mind you) and he enjoyed it.
