I've patronized Jasper's a few times with mo issues. Usually during the week when I drop my car off for service. It's usually very good as is the service. But the last time I went was on a weekend for breakfast and it was jammed. I ordered a short stack of pancakes and sausage links. The food wasn't bad but I could tell it was pre-made and came from a warming pan. One of the give aways was that the time from putting in my order to receiving it was about 5 minutes. With the crowd they had at that time it was virtually impossible to fresh make an order that quickly. For the prices they charge here that's not acceptable. So if you order something make sure it's fresh made by asking your server. And if you don't feel that it is send it back. read more

Amazing apple pancake! This is one of those huge fluffy ones that takes 30 minutes... although in our case it took longer. There was no one else there on a weekday at 6pm so we expected it wouldn't take so long but it did and everyone's food was brought out before us so they were finished eating before my mom and I even got our meal. Stopped by to get lunch while pup is getting groomed at PetSmart because I haven't been to a diner in a while... and had about 1.5 hours to spend It's a typical older Glenview building, and I am guessing early 1980s, that had been remodeled from what I am guessing used to be an IHOP or Dennys. It has ample parking, so that's a plus, and almost Dennys level prices at avg $15. The menu is otherwise fairly extensive but lacks added protein options aside from occasional chicken for $4 on SOME of the salads. Annoyingly, their salmon is only offered on a bed of basic greens, and they'll only add it for $8 (not on the menu) on another salad. WTF The salmon on a bed of greens is $11.99 Per Tavo (the manager), this is to discourage customer customization. Offering a reasonable upcharge on a protein seems to be a foreign concept. What a questionable business practice. Setting a single price for the addition of protein to a salad is a huge ask? It's really interesting. I'll stick to normal places from now on. I ordered the Mediterranean with Chicken for $15.99 and the grilling seems like it was done last night. The waiter insists it was warm when he brought it over, another freaking liar. Wow read more

We visited the restaurant during a peak period, but if compromising standards is acceptable under such conditions, then significant improvements are necessary. Our server brought hot coffee drinks despite our order specifying iced coffee. When I politely pointed out the mistake, the server's demeanor became somewhat abrupt, claiming not to have heard our order. Furthermore, when offering to take the drinks back to rectify the situation, the server mentioned the restaurant's busy state as a reason for not remaking the drinks. Notably, my coffee was served in a cardboard cup, and neither of us received any refills throughout our meal. The entire experience felt rushed, which unfortunately contrasted sharply with our previous visit. I'd like to bring this to your attention: another Hispanic family also expressed dissatisfaction with the service. Notably, the server attended to other patrons more promptly and professionally. It's unfortunate that the server's behavior towards individuals of similar background was subpar. read more

TERRIBLE. When I got there. The hostess started a list and I was the first name on it. She then proceeded to seat others in front of me. When she did finally get to us she walked me half way to the table and then pointed and turned away. Food was tasteless. Ordered matzoh ball soup. Was literally yellow water. When the waiter took the bowl he said I left the best part as I had eaten the ball (also tasteless) and I replied because it was awful. He said nothing but definitely heard me. My chicken club was dry and tasteless. Mayo on 1 of the 3 slices of bread. Chicken lacked all flavor unless dry is considered a flavor. Pick up a salt shaker or something and take some pride in what you are serving because your service isn't winning anyone over either. read more

I also ordered the matzo ball soup and the broth was somewhat too salty for my taste, but the matzo ball soaked up the sodium well. Overall, OK meal. The three stars are for the matzo ball itself. The broth was not great. The matzo ball itself was massive and delicious. The potato pancakes were flavorless but the size was nice. My wife had the corned beef hash. They were either Housemade and grated to small or it was no good. The service did not feel welcoming at all my wife and I felt like we were an inconvenience. The man at the front im assuming the boss was very welcoming and had a pleasant attitude. The deco was very cute. Maybe we came on a bad day. We might give this place another shot. read more

Decent old school diner for breakfast and lunch. Best selling point is the huge portions. Huge and slightly overcooked feta, spinach, and ham omelette with hashbrowns and toast and 4 large gluten free pancakes per serving were both good and what you expect from this type of diner. At least they are consistent. Compared to my last review of Jaspers, nothing has really changed. There are big plastic covered holes in the ceiling over the register, the service was consistently good, and the atmosphere overall is open diner. The food is unfortunately also consistent. The omelette had a chunk of American cheese shoved in the fold of it but not across the entire omelette, the hash browns were cold and flavorless still, and the pancakes were still the highlight. The price has gone up since the last time but that is expected. Maybe I will try it again in 6 more months. I really want this place to be good. read more

Great breakfast, service lacking...We arrived and decided to eat outside. A server came over threw a saucer if butter and syrup on the table while juggling a coffee pot. He asked if we wanted coffee. My guest responded " yes ", and I said no thank you tea please. He quickly poured my guest coffee, ran off for a few, then rushed back to get our order. Another server or bus person dropped off the tea which he threw on the table causing the hot water to spill over onto the tea bag which began steeping in the paper on the saucer. Our table only had a ketchup bottle with sticky sauce all over the lid. I asked for hot sauce and someone was nice enough to bring it over, although he appeared annoyed. I noticed we didn't have salt and pepper but didn't want to flag down the server again who was running around and looking stressed. He did come back several times to refresh my guest's coffee; however, when I asked for more tea, he threw me a look, didn't respond, but came back with hot water and quickly ran off before I could ask for another tea bag. Yes, the restaurant was busy, but that's no excuse for rushed, unfriendly and sloppy service. I enjoyed the food so I may give Jasper's one more try. Terrible service! Was in the area with family and decided to stop here for a late breakfast/ early lunch. Place was not terribly busy and we were sat right away. That's about the only positive. Our service here was beyond terrible. Our server Maribel seemed as though she did not want to be there, rolled her eyes when we asked for a refill. Once we got our food she never came back to ask about any refills until she brought us our check. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Take your money elsewhere. read more

I arrive there at about 7:15 in the morning and order eggs. hash browns and pancakes. Eggs come along with hash browns but no pancakes. When I finished, the pancakes arrive which by then I didn't want. The waiter asked if I still wanted them and I replied that I would have eaten them if they had come along with the eggs. He said that I came there too early and they were still prepping even though the restaurant was open at 7:00. I asked why they couldn't delay the eggs until the pancake mixture was ready and told in a condescending tone. that," they don't do that. Do you want them or not?" Horrible management who actually laughed in my face when I requested to be seated in a quiet side room to have a family conversation regarding an emergency situation. The 4 star is based on the food and service. This is my first dining out experience since Covid 19 madness started in March. My friend insisted on meeting somewhere with outdoor seating. And here we are. It was a windy day and leaves are starting to fall. I am fully aware one can never control mother nature. I was never a dining outdoor kind of person and this experience furthered my rationale. In addition to the leaves and dust, there were flies I have to fight off. It was not pleasant. I took a bite of my meaty skillet before cover it up due to the wind and flies. It was very tasty and I can hear the crunchiness whenever my friend' cut into her waffle. I used to work at the Hyundai dealer down the road. I used to always grab lunch here. Always loved their skillets specifically the hash browns. Thing is, it's not special. Yet, they make their hash browns sooo good with no complaints. My friend got the original benedict's. Props to Jaspers, my friend is a very very picky eater. Her first time ever trying egg benedict's was at Lake Geneva. Since then, we've tried many other places. She really enjoyed Jaspers, also commented on the hash browns. Her only complaint was the Canadian bacon was a little on the thicker side, if it was just a little thinner, no complaints. The place was packed on a Sunday morning, yet our server got to us right away and food came out pretty quick. Parking lot was way bigger than I expected, I've never drove all the way into the lot before. Everyone seemed well mannered, we were always addressed from when we first entered to paying out at the front desk. They were busy!! Jasper's is a phenomenal restaurant located in Glenview. They have an expansive breakfast menu along with options for lunch. The portions here are large, and the menu is well priced overall. Most of the breakfast items also include a side of hash-browns/fruit and pancakes. My favorite dishes are the Spanish Omelette and North Shore Skillet. Moreover, the service here is also always great. The waiters are friendly and come to the table often. The food also comes out fairly quickly. Jaspers is truly the hidden gem in Glenview. Fantastic breakfast with a wide variety menu and for those who aren't big breakfast fans, you can also get lunch. Atmosphere is at 10/10 services at 10/10 and the food is also 10/10. Went there with my family. We were treated fantastic and seated quickly even on a busy day. The owner was walking around from table to table checking up on everybody, which is a great thing to see. I highly recommend checking it out if you have not gone yet. read more

We used to really love the variety and food quality here. It is a good location on Waukegan Rd. However, lately the entrees we've ordered haven't been as good as in the past. For example, the blackened chicken sandwich used to be one of my favs. Since then, the flavor of the sandwich and remoulade has completely changed and not for the better. Fries not hot or fresh like in the past. I hope things go back to being better sometime soon. But until then, we are holding off for awhile. read more
