Pancake side of egg breakfast - Two large, fluffy pancakes with a golden-brown surface are stacked on a white plate. The top pancake is sprinkled with powdered sugar. In the background, there is a second plate with toast slices, and the setting appears to be a casual dining environment, likely a breakfast restaurant.

This place is solid. Had the steak and eggs. High quality skirt steak. Center cut. Cooked perfectly with 4 sunny side up eggs. And pancakes.

Photo taken from inside Jasper's Cafe, showing the outdoor patio with a red umbrella, garden plants, and a sign that states the cafe is open Friday and Saturday until 7:30 pm. The patio has tables and chairs, and the scene includes a street with cars and buildings in the background. The sky is partly cloudy with blue sky visible.

Stopped by to get lunch while pup is getting groomed at PetSmart because I haven't been to a diner in a while... and had about 1.5 hours to spend It's a typical older Glenview building, and I am guessing early 1980s, that had been remodeled from what I am guessing used to be an IHOP or Dennys. It has ample parking, so that's a plus, and almost Dennys level prices at avg $15. The menu is otherwise fairly extensive but lacks added protein options aside from occasional chicken for $4 on SOME of the salads. Annoyingly, their salmon is only offered on a bed of basic greens, and they'll only add it for $8 (not on the menu) on another salad. WTF The salmon on a bed of greens is $11.99 Per Tavo (the manager), this is to discourage customer customization. Offering a reasonable upcharge on a protein seems to be a foreign concept. What a questionable business practice. Setting a single price for the addition of protein to a salad is a huge ask? It's really interesting. I'll stick to normal places from now on. I ordered the Mediterranean with Chicken for $15.99 and the grilling seems like it was done last night. The waiter insists it was warm when he brought it over, another freaking liar. Wow

Urinals. Close together - The image shows three white urinals mounted on a tiled bathroom wall, each with a metal flush valve above. The wall tiles are light-colored with a decorative border running horizontally. The floor is tiled with larger, darker tiles, and a partition is visible on the right side of the image, indicating a bathroom setting.

Jasper the friendly cafe. I came here with the gang and the food was good. I ordered the Meaty skillet, which had Ham, Sausage and Bacon. It was topped with melted Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese. I also ordered the matzo ball soup and the broth was somewhat too salty for my taste, but the matzo ball soaked up the sodium well. Overall, OK meal. BATHROOM REVIEW: Decent bathroom, with plenty of urinals and a decently hung toilet. There were double-sinks and overall, decent. Sit or squat? Squat.

Decent old school diner for breakfast and lunch. Best selling point is the huge portions. Huge and slightly overcooked feta, spinach, and ham omelette with hashbrowns and toast and 4 large gluten free pancakes per serving were both good and what you expect from this type of diner. Not fancy, but filling.

Ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and pancakes. - A breakfast meal served on a white plate at Jasper's Cafe features a folded omelette, crispy hash browns, and a stack of pancakes. In the background, there are glasses of iced tea, water, and condiments including ketchup and butter. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment with a wooden table and additional breakfast items nearby.

At least they are consistent. Compared to my last review of Jaspers, nothing has really changed. There are big plastic covered holes in the ceiling over the register, the service was consistently good, and the atmosphere overall is open diner. The food is unfortunately also consistent. The omelette had a chunk of American cheese shoved in the fold of it but not across the entire omelette, the hash browns were cold and flavorless still, and the pancakes were still the highlight. The price has gone up since the last time but that is expected. Maybe I will try it again in 6 more months. I really want this place to be good.

The team is constantly circling the restaurant to make sure tables are cleared and food comes in a timely manner. We had people with allergies at the table and the team was accommodating and our food had the allergy labels in them. The team was very professional and kind! Food was so good! Everything over all was delivery but some highlights from the shared dinner were the eggplant spread, the brussel sprouts, and date cake. Warmed pitas were seasoned well and texture was fluffy but not too soft where it wasn't able to hold its shape. I could have the sweet potatoes latkes everyday! The lamb ragu hummus and short rib were good but we found the actual protein was a bit dry and flavor subdue compared to their accompaniments. The spicy brisket kabobs were good but we were stuff so we had to slow our roll. The Date cake was delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness for those both sweet lovers and non lovers! 10/10 recommend. We'll be back for brunch sometime!

The greenhouse theme and twinkly lights were pretty. Now the service.... The server was kind, great attitude but poor service. Drinks were left empty, condiment requests were ignored or forgotten about, food and drinks items that were ordered were not told they were unavailable until after they were ordered (ie. Tea and lamb shashuka). Additionally, I was also charged for tea even though I I never had any but thankfully, they removed it. I had ordered tea and was initially told that they would be looking for the canister of loose leaf teas and then we were told that they didn't have enough canisters and too many canisters were broken. Um....ooookaaaay. We ordered two chicken kabob plates, grilled haloumi kebab and Moroccan onion dip. Their specialty drinks we got were: chocolate honey Carajillo, passion fruit spritz and then the say less. The drinks were delicious but a tad steep. Overall, food was delicious, they did skimp on the rice, I wish they added more. Their harissa was very good, spicy with a kick..would have loved it more if our waiter didn't forget the first time we asked for it. Chicken was well portioned, well seasoned and good flavor but it needed more rice to eat it with. The cheese was really good as well. Oh yeah, we also got the strawberry ricotta toast and that was....interesting. The cost to quality ratio needs work. The prices here are pretty steep and you get what you pay for here. Unfortunately, if the service is like what we received today then totally not worth it. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'm Glad I got to share with my family but doubtful we'll be back again with the exception to celebrate a special occasion, if that. Lastly, their take out container bag is super cute but that's not either here or there. Disappointing experience for a special bday.

My family is fully a savory meal crowd, so we loved having options that weren't just two eggs with toast. There were assortments of skillets to choose from, frittatas, stuffed potato pancakes, chicken fried steak -- they really had it all. The food came out fast and had so much flavor, for the price you really can't beat it. Though I'm more of a fan of savory I couldn't help but be intrigued by their sweet offerings -- the Dubai chocolate waffle? Churro waffle coated in cinnamon sugar? Banana bread French toast? The list goes on and on, these flavors are so unique and I can't believe that I can find them all under one roof. I had to try the carrot cake pancakes, and they truly tasted like carrot cake. No syrup was needed, every bite had flavor and sweetness. I love that Brunch Cafe has gluten free options as well, and though I didn't try them I know they would be just as amazing as everything else. There's truly an option for every kind of eater in your family, and it proves they aren't a typical breakfast eatery. Walker Brothers had special hours on Thanksgiving, from 8:00 am to noon. We arrived at 10:40 am, the line was pretty long, extending to the front door. This was expected, this was a great choice for breakfast or brunch for friends and families, especially on a holiday. There were about 6 tables ahead of us. Our wait was only 15 minutes. We were happy to be seated at a cozy but comfy booth in the middle of the dining room at 10:55 am. As soon as we got in, we already enjoyed the aroma of good coffee, butter, and delicious food! The vibe was warm, festive, and happy. As always, we were greeted by friendly staff. Maria, our server, was very friendly. She and her whole team were very efficient without rushing us. We were amazed that she constantly had a nice smile, and was attentive and pleasant the whole time, even though the restaurant was packed with families. We got one order of French Toast (my favorite), two orders of Strawberry crepes, one order of Farm-Style Sausages, and an order of Canadian Bacon. All three of us got coffee, that's always so good. The food and coffee came out quickly; everything was prepared to perfection. I dare to say that no one could beat their French Toast, something so simple but so delectable and satisfying. The portions were generous, we were happy to have leftovers. We are thankful that this Walker Brothers is doing so well and is close by. We will never get tired dining in there!

While there is an "in" and an "out" door, it seems that the host stand and cashier station are one and the same, resulting in a bunch of people queuing. Thankfully, one of the hosts/cashiers noticed, asked if I was waiting for a table, and I was promptly seated. It is perhaps a blessing that the menu lists calorie counts, for I would have ordered the Apple Cinnamon Pancake without a second thought. Only it is 1,880 calories, and that's before the ice cream upgrade that's still tempting me as I read their menu. I ordered the Blueberry instead. What I liked about these is that they weren't overly sweet, and had a hearty amount of blueberries within. I'd also like to recognize that biting into them, I didn't encounter a spray of blueberry-gut-lava that's burned me when I attempted blueberry pancakes at home. However, while not bad, I found them in no way remarkable. Neither the textures nor flavors were anything to write home about. Rather than a gently crisp exterior and fluffy interior, they were instead similar to something between custard and cake. In terms of the service: I thought it was friendly, polite, and once the order was placed, the food came out in no time. Otherwise, the service felt a little inattentive. For example, after I said I needed just a minute to decide, the server did not stop by in longer than expected. Also, towards the end of the meal, it didn't click that I was to pay the cashier rather than the waiter... a little "D'oh" on my part, but a reminder would have been appropriate and welcome. As for the vibe: there is so much wood, if you dumped the restaurant into the lake, it would float! Adding to the vibe are some lighting fixtures with stained glass, and others are decorative, but mismatched, if not outright missing. Staff wore uniforms reminiscent of those seen in old movies. Final verdict: While I appreciate what Walker Brothers is trying to do, and their prices are reasonable, I do not feel the experience was enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit. Okay pancakes, and service that could use some polish are not enough, especially with many fantastic breakfast spots in Chicagoland.

I've never been a huge fan of the indoor dining area either, and I usually opt to sit at the bar if I can. The staff is very kind. They have an excellent burger. It's always cooked right and I love the bun. I add avocado to mine. The fries are great too, and always the perfect amount of crispy. I consistently used to order their Turkey Club, but at some point in the past few years, they switched from fresh cut turkey to deli turkey. It's not nearly as good anymore for that reason, and not worth ordering. The only Glenview restaurants I know of that still use fresh turkey in their sandwiches are Hackney's and Meier's Tavern. Also, their Guinness pours can be questionable depending on who's pouring. Nowadays, when I go to Grandpa's, I only ever order the Chicken Kabobs. They are absolutely delicious! If you like medium spice, I advise you to ask for them cajun-style. They are best this way! The kabobs come served over rice with the most juicy oven roasted tomatoes, and this addicting peanut sauce on the side. I pour it over the whole thing. It is a must-try and no doubt the best thing on their menu. Highly recommend Grandpa's food, as most things on the menu are enjoyable. They also have Merkt's Cheese!
