I would go somewhere else for better food. Their chicken butter was little pieces that didn't some thing like chicken. This is a solid restaurant that features legitimate Indian staples like paneer, shak, naan, and curries. You'll find it mostly full of Indian families which is also a good sign. You pay after eating, so staff will tell you to queue, grab food, find a table, and pay afterwards. The chicken curry still has bones insides but it delicious. The paneer is wonderful. The naan is as good as any I've had. However, as a cultural practice, many/most Indians eat with their hands. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean that all the serving spoons you use will have been held by hands that have just been used to eat. One challenge during vacations, at least for me, is having leftovers after a meal. We have to adjust what we order sometimes to try to ensure that we won't have half of the dish to take 'home' (i.e., to the hotel, which may or may not have a refrigerator). One solution, which isn't usually available, is to go to a buffet place, where you just eat what you want and leftovers aren't an issue. There were 3 Indian restaurants in Jasper that we noticed. This one was the only buffet place. They appeared to have indoor seating in the back (maybe a lot?) but I didn't venture back as we opted to sit on the small patio out front. There were 7 - 8 tables there, adjacent to the sidewalk (but with a wall / fence in between). The buffet was set up at the front of the interior. There were probably 9 or 10 dishes from which to choose, not including rice and naan. I do not know whether they rotate choices day to day or week to week. The selection seemed a bit different than what I was used to (no saag-based dishes, for example) and the ingredients also seemed to vary a bit. However, given the geographic distance involved, that isn't surprising. I found 2 - 3 dishes that I wanted to try, and all of those were quite good. The spice levels were good too - not bland, but not overdone. Parking was on-street or in the large lot across the street - both of which require payment. 4 of us out of our party of 12 got sick after having the Indian buffet. We experienced bad cramping, fever and diarrhea. Not sure which it was... I should have been more cautious as the inside of the restaurant was extremely warm but the food kept inside the metal domes was more lukewarm. Such a gem in the town of jasper. Visited a month ago and we ate our hearts full. The buffet was excellent, so many vegetarian curries and so fresh. Best naan ever. Our stomachs were full but the heart wanted more. The ambiance is ok but it was compensated by the super quality of the food. Got excited to see a buffet place in Jasper and went there for lunch on a weekday. The prices were reasonable ($15) but the food was terrible. The only thing that was decent is pakodas. Raita was very diluted and the tadka in dal was overly done due to which the cumin seeds turned black. The chhole, paneer, aloo matar and kheer lacked taste and felt like were cooked in a rush. came here for lunch, restaurant looks very ugly and old. very small and pathetic selection for food. they reheat old leftovers from the day before and when questioned they claim it's "overcooked" but if so why put it up for eating? all of it tastes terrible anyway. not worth the price AT ALL. Popped in to take a look, and the lunch buffet looked quite good and for a fair price for Jasper. We thought about returning a few hours later for the dinner buffet which has a few more items including goat curry, however since we had been on the road since the morning, we thought we'd have an early afternoon supper instead. My wife and I were quite satisfied with the buffet, and though they had run out of the eggplant offering, they replaced it with a paneer dish which I suspect is offered for supper which was very good. Everything was reasonably spiced but not too spicy which is probably reasonable for those not used to the heat. Though we like it spicier, there are some condiments that can be added for those wishing for a bit more heat. The naan bread was lighter than what we've normally had, but was very good, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We were both impressed with the quality and price for Jasper, and will likely return on our next visit. read more

Hands down, the worst Indian restaurant I have been to after the one I visited in Switzerland. As an Indian who eats this stuff regularly, let me explain: We went during the dinner buffet time. So keep this in mind. The pakoras, were dry and NO CHUTNEY was provided at any location. Excuse me? This is unacceptable at even your local dhaba (roadside Indian food truck) in Mumbai, every Indian knows this. Furthermore, a buffet at an Indian restaurant should always have palak paneer at it. It's an unspoken yet accepted rule. However, this was completely absent from the selection. On top of that, the food was pretty salty throughout the item selection. This place is extremely expensive for the quality of the food (or lack thereof). The food is extremely oily, the taste is unbalanced- spices are in excess. The dal is very watered down. On top of this I experienced extremely mediocre service from this place. If you're looking for Indian food in Jasper, you shouldn't come here. To my Indian people- I understand that you might be craving Indian food being far away from home. But I promise you that you might not get the same quality here that you're used to. Sad! read more

First time here in town and craving for some warm food. Found an Indian restaurant in town. Everything was delicious!!! We went for the lunch buffet and the food was made fresh, frequently stocked, AND the waitress was very friendly as well. Prices for lunch and dinner are very well priced. The Naan was freshly made with a lot of love. Definitely will keep this restaurant as one of my favorites and I am planning on coming back again the next time we are in Jasper. read more

I had the pasta salad, onion pakora w/ tamarind chutney, butter chicken w/ fresh naan and seviyan for dessert. There was a lot more variety and the rest of my family had those other dishes and loved them as well! Wow. What a place. The food was incredible, but maybe even more astonishing were the people who work there. My partner and I smelled the place before we saw it. It smelled like delicious Indian food. I think the meat portions provided ordering from the menu are severely lacking ... there was a full container of gravy and very little meat in the butter chicken which was not tasty. The goat was also the same story with fatty bones and no meat. My kids only ate 1/4 of the butter chicken poutine. Quite pricey for what you get. read more

Not bad for an all you can eat curry place. I do wish that they tell you the spice level for each dish or label what's inside of each dish instead of getting surprised when you taste each dish. My two favorites were the butter chicken and paneer. The fish was good but wayyyy too spicy. Most of their dishes does have a kick so it won't be good for younger children. An Indian restaurant in remote inland Jasper? Makes as much sense as seafood, I suppose. This place has only been open one week but it is obvious that owner/chef, Gopal Shelke, knows what he's doing. The food, served as a buffet, is excellent, and there is the usual Indian variety. The interior decor is attractive but we ate outside on a balmy May evening. Didnt expect an Indian restaurant in a remote place like Jasper! Had my birthday dinner here. Buffet options are minimal especially if you are a vegetarian. Butter chicken was the best in the menu. Channa masala, paneer makhni and other chicken curry were just okay! Naan was soft and nice. They didnt have any variety of rice items. They only had plain rice. Even jeera rice vouldve been a better option. By the time we got to dessert, they were over. And these folks didnt refill them at all! We didnt wait for the rice kheer. read more

After traveling through Calgary, Banff and Lake Louise it was nice to find a place that was reasonable to eat not to mention it's an all you can eat buffet. There was plenty to pick from such as soups, chicken, fish, vegetarian, fresh naan and the dishes were constantly being replenished. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We went there with two other family. I have lot of reasons to give them just two stars. Firstly their service : they made us seat 8 people on a table of 6 seat, just so they can let more customers in. When we told them about our discomfort, she said that's best they could do! Secondly the food: just because there are not many Indian restaurants in Jasper city, customer like their food but I have tried Indian food in smaller cities like Banff and Whistler. They come nowhere near them. Most of their curries taste sweeter and same. Not up-to the reviews I saw on yelp! Third: It may not be regular thing but their kitchen and restroom is not hygienic compared to other Indian restaurant I have tried in other cities. We stopped by after a long drive from lake Louise and traveling last few days, wanting something warm, authentic and variety (other than pastas pizza which are common in this area), and we're very pleased. Dinner buffet was perfect. Many vegetarian dishes , curries/daals, paneer sabji, sukhi sabji! Well made. Kids ate really well too surprisingly! Service was superb.
