We came here two days in a row while we were in Jasper because the foods were delicious. The restaurant is simple and clean. Prices are affordable (compared to other restaurant in Jasper), portion are generous. We tried house special curry goat (the meats were tender, some had bones), chicken korma (white and dark meats, some had bones), samosas, garlic naan. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. In Jasper, if you want to have Asian cuisine, you absolutely can't miss this place! Their chicken butter curry is incredibly delicious. We ordered two servings right away and paired them with garlic naans, which was extremely satisfying. Wow, this place was absolutely packed on a Sunday night! We saw this restaurant had high reviews on Google and we were all craving some Indian food after a long couple days of travel and hiking in Banff/Jasper. We arrived around 7PM as a group of 4 and were put on a wait-list for about 20 minutes. There was a huge party that took over after 8PM and the restaurant started playing music louder and there was a different vibe. The service was very hospitable and they gave us a lot of recommendations since we weren't familiar with some of the menu items and I can't tolerate too spicy of foods either. Andaaz Indian Cuisine serves some of the best Indo-Chinese food I've ever had. The Chili Paneer and Vegetable Hakka Noodles were both incredibly flavorful, with just the right balance of spice and texture. We also tried the Samosa Chaat, recommended by our friendly waiter--and I'm so glad we did. It was my first time trying this dish, and now I'm hooked. I honestly want to come back to this food truck every day for the rest of my stay in Jasper just to have it again. Our waiter also shared that the food truck is a temporary setup while their brick-and-mortar restaurant across the street undergoes renovations due to the 2024 Jasper fire. Even though it was a food truck it was the best indian food I have ever had. Being from India I have never seen good butter chicken, chai, chaat, and more until I found this place. We live in the US and come to Canada often and always look for indian food. This is the first indian restaurant that has amazed me. The look of the truck may not be so good but the food was 6 stars out of 5. They were so, so nice and didn't say no to anything. My daughter wanted chai and she wanted more milk and they gave it. They always answered our questions and accommodated our needs. The truck may not look nice but the mountains and the view are amazing where the tables are. TLDR - Andaaz deserves 5-star rating for food alone. When taking the affordability into consideration, it is near impossible not to give it a top rating unless you want a better ambiance. Jasper Alberta is a foodies' heaven. And Andaaz stands out with near perfect average ratings in both Yelp and Google for good reasons - the curries (we had Malabari Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken) tasted complex, rich, well balanced, bold and all and every good description you can think of. No small feat when creating these exotic flavours in the middle of the mountains. Andaaz's garlic naan was aromatic and fresh. The Murgh Pahadi Tikka had chicken so tender that my BF asked the servers how the chef did it. The Gobe didn't stand out but was easy to like. The cilantro-mint chutney enhanced the Tikka and the Gobe. If I had to be picky, the Basmati rice was over soaked thus less aromatic than it could be. But hey, 4.75 stars rounds up to 5 stars, so I cannot lower the published rating, can I? The casual ambiance was bland when compared to the competitors. The chairs didn't feel comfortable. So if you care about these things, which I don't, you might rate Andaaz lower. But for me, Andaaz's prices were like $10 lower than the competition, per dish; I would opt for the bold food and bland ambiance in a heartbeat. read more

Wow. We never expected to have the best Indian food of our lives in the small remote town of Jasper, AB. This was actually our favorite dinner of a very long family road trip across Alberta, British Columbia, and 8 states. At dinner time on a summer week night, every table was full, and there was about a 20-30 minute wait. So happy we stayed! We started with the Samosa Chaat which was so flavorful, and delicious enough to have made the wait worth every second. But it was the recommended Murgh Pahadi Tikka that blew our minds and taste buds. So good. We'd never tasted anything like it, and I wish I could have some right now as I write this. Top that off with excellent and friendly service from Veenu, supported by others constantly there filling our waters and checking on us. So happy to see the restaurant survived the fire. The KFC is fresher dried and super crunchy/juicy. It comes with a spicy and sour sauce that is perfectly balanced. I wish this restaurant is closer to home for me! We came to visit the new Indian restaurant at Jasper. There were only a few Yelp reviews and the restaurant looks very new. The place is a good size and has about 10 tables. We started out the dinner with Momos Chicken. The flavor was good. The spicy sauce on the side was good with it. It's not too spicy for people who like more mild flavors. For our main dish, we shared Malabari Chicken Korma which was different than I expected. I was expecting heavier spices like curry but the chicken was amazingly soft and tender. Their garlic naan is absolutely amazing! It's fluffy, soft, and melting in your month buttery! The garlic flavor was not overpowering. One of the best naans that I have ever had. I would go back just for their garlic naan. Overall, the service was amazing. Very attentive. The waiter (or owner?) apologized for the delay and gave us a sweet dessert for the long wait. Visiting here from California The Good: Some food was edible Ambiance: didn't dine in so can't comment on that The NOT so good: Called to place the order (yes it says call to order, no one picked), so went in and placed my order. I told the lady who took the order I'm waiting outside and even gave them my phone number in case. I Ordered 2 order of Samosa, 1 order each of Choley (chickpea curry), Daal, Paneer Makhni, Garlic naan and regular naan. 30 mins after waiting; I checked in on the order they told me that they can't do samosa BUT they can do samosa chat, which they conveniently missed telling me while ordering the food. (you can't make a samosa chat without a samosa). Also the fact they had my number and knew I'm waiting outside but no one bothered to call or tell me that they can't make a samosa but they can make a samosa chat. This is still a mystery unless they are sticking STALE samosas in the chat. Which BTW was waaaayy over spicy and not edible - had to throw. I specifically ordered mild food because of two little kids and health reasons, which I was told they could make at the time of order taking. Chola dish went directly into trash because even a regular adult would eat that much spice. Daal and Paneer was medium spicy which again my kids couldn't eat. So basically I had to feed them Plain naan and by the time I got my food (10pm) all other restaurants we're closed. It was a 1+ hour wait for a take out. There is no DoorDash or delivery. No one answers the phone. The lady taking the order does not listen or pay attention. Extremely Disappointed and absolutely do NOT recommend. I hope they spend a little more time in taking care of the order and deliver what's requested. The restaurant is easily accessible in the town center. The food is just ok, no matter how the menu describes the dishes, it is nothing special. The reason for the one star is the horrible wait times to be seated and then to get the food on to the table. If you wish to eat here, then delay the plans you had after the lunch or dinner, in fact cancel all those plans because you are sure to be late or simply uninterested after the ordeal at the restaurant. The staff is doing their best, but there is no leader in the restaurant, a few staff members are running around without any process or direction from the restaurant to serve the customers. I feel bad for the staff working so hard here and the customers who spend our hard earned money at this place. Do your self a big favor please and go somewhere else where staff and customers are treated with care. This was the first Upma I have had where they served no chutney and that had sev on it - amateur hour! The tea was full of milk and the bun maska was basic.
