Chicken Biryani
Komal R.

Extremely slow service and lines are LONG. We waited for about 20 minutes before we got served water and 40 minutes before any food was served. The food itself was good especially the curry chicken and chicken biryani. We came here twice on consecutive days and both times they were out of chai. I really don't understand how can you be out of chai, it just needs some basic ingredients. The manager was nice but it just doesn't make the experience any better. The other servers were extremely inefficient. Anyway, only come here if you are not too hungry and have time to kill.

Fine Indian cuisine indeed. We always order butter chicken and it is spectacular here - wonderful rich yogurt sauce, soft chicken. The malai kofta is great too - soft cheese balls, and I loved the sauce. The garlic naan and roti were crispy and great, though maybe it could have had a touch more garlic flavor. I personally loved the veggie biryani. Nutty, great flavour and texture. Of course this is the only Indian place here in the winter but it's awesome to have so much ethnic food in Jasper!

Food in general is fantastic! Be sure to choose a spice level that matches your tolerance. Everything was served on time, nice and hot.

Chicken Curry and Lamb Mansala
Tulsa H.

One of the best Indian food I've had in years. We ordered the Chicken Curry and Lamb Mansala, and both were very tasty. Service was as good as any could get for a fast food/quick restaurant when you're on the go. They in fact asked you a few times how did you enjoy the meal. We highly recommend this place a try. Also a plus, the credit card payment at the end did not bug you with additional tipping as many other restaurants tend to do--where you're forced to tip 15 or 18 percent minimum. Here, they skipped that in the credit card payment, which was a welcomed surprise.

Food was decent. There were other Indian restaurants around the area but this one was open late. The servers were attentive and the ambience was of a traditional Indian restaurant. Large portions, we ended up packing up the left overs and eating the next day :)

We walked in, took a whiff of the overwhelming smell and walked out. Not the kind of place we eat at.

Excellent Indian restaurant. Great food with outdoor seating. Can be very busy. Recommend the malai kofta.

Yelp HQ recently sent me a message saying that my observations reinforced a stereotype and had…read morecrossed a line. It's time for me to document my observations once again. Luckily, this is Alberta where everyone uses Google reviews instead of Yelp. There are lots of Indians in Hinton. When checking menus at local restaurants, I saw that many Canadian restaurants had Indian food on their menu. When I asked the Indian staff at my hotel what Indian restaurant had the best food, both of them told me Tandoori Kona. With the training that I've had with my Indian coworker back in the USA in Indian food, I felt good coming here for my takeout Indian food. I ordered a chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and a garlic naan. The food was good. The chicken tikka masala was tasty. It was not too spicy for my wife. I ordered the tandoori chicken since I realized that tandoori was in their name. The tandoori chicken was nice and moist. It was flavorful. Not dry like at some of the Indian buffets I've been to. Garlic Naan was good. It was a nice buttery and garlicky piece of flatbread. The prices here surprised me. I thought they were expensive. We were served a good pricey meal here. No stereotypes were made here in my observations.

Clean restaurant next to a hotel and DQ. The food was mild (as ordered). We had the butter chicken…read moreand chicken tandoori. We preferred the tandoori and would recommend that to others. They were out of samosas as apparently make them in house only once per week. Meal for three was $65
