Dined in for lunch with a friend and our 2-year-old daughters. The service was excellent. Our toddlers are very excitable and active. They were welcomed here and we didn't feel rushed at all by the staff. The pricing is more than affordable and the portions are large! A kids meal is $3.99 and that includes a drink. I love Jason's deli! I always get the turkey club on croissant. I love the fruit as a side and the dipping sauce that comes with it. The best part is the free ice cream you get while you're there! The staff is friendly and I've never had a bad experience. They do deliver, but be warned the delivery fee is $7. I don't think it's worth it so I just drive there to get takeout. They're pretty fast with their takeout and even give you a container to take your ice cream to go. read more

While you're dining, chances are a manager will be by to check in on you to make sure everything is to your liking. Staff are always friendly. I usually get a soup and salad when I stop by for lunch on the weekend. The salad bar is always stocked with fresh lettuce, spinach, and salad toppings, and they have a good selection of dressings so if you're like me and get the same stuff on your salad every time, you can change it up by sampling one of the dozen or so dressings. This is a great restaurant for anyone looking to eat healthy. Their printed menu has calorie counts for every item from sandwich to soup to sides. I have a friend who swears by their cheesecake, but personally I go for the free soft serve icecream to end my meal. That's true but I did learn a thing and that is if you get you the salad bar you get unlimited nanner pudding chocolate pudding ice cream and crackers. That is some good stuff. Jason's Deli has probably one of the better salad bars in the city, and their sandwiches, especially the 'Reuben', is truly worth the $11 price. BUT, there are some management issues here that need addressing... I was served a Chicken Caesar salad with so much of the iceberg lettuce core and stem included, including the bottom part that is sliced away from the ground, much of the salad was inedible! ... To add insult to injury, I found many of the stacked small complimentary ice cream dishes to be completely unwashed from prior use. I was tempted to report this to the Health Dept., and should've but didn't... I DID report it to a young 20-something female 'manager' who appeared conscientious but wholly inexperienced and incompetent... Don't expect ordering via the Internet to have a take-out order ready in a reasonable amount of time either... GOOD food... POOR restaurant management! read more

I am not to satisfied with this place. My husband and I came one during lunch and they were packed. Which usually isnt a deal breaker for us. So we ordered Togo. The cashier was typical... Nice but when we asked her questions she didn't go into much detail. So ordered and paid for our food.. I had to be at work within the hour. We waited almost 30 mins for our TOGO food. Which both of us have worked in the food industry so we know what our food times should be. We didn't get too upset since we knew they were fairly new and would be busy with it being lunch time. But anyway when we ate our food, we were kind of surprised. I felt like I could the same thing at home but better. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the thing that upset us was that we paid close $25 for a sandwich and two drinks and the good was mediocre. Give everything a try once but I probably won't go back there unless I'm starving and it's the only Place open. read more

We came here based on the reviews, but it definitely didn't meet the expectations. Maybe we came too late in the day. The salad bar was fine, but the sandwiches were a dry, the garlic bread over saturated and the chicken salad tasted very funky. We asked the manager about the chicken salad using our "funky" description and she said, "yeah, it's always like that." Not impressed at all. If we were to return, it would only be to have a salad. Decent place. A lot here on the menu is not really my cup of tea, but I love a good salad bar and theirs is good. I like to make a Greek style salad and then go back and make a southwestern style one. It was a toss up...7 Spice or Jason's Deli. Since 7 Spice is already a fave the girl and I decided to try Jason's. It's a BIG place. Nice and welcoming. She picked up a menu, not everything is listed on the BIG board and we decided on the Reuben for her and the Ham & Salami Muffaletta for me. The ordering process was aggravating to say the least. One more asinine question from the three ladies in front of us and I would have walked out. I think someone heard me say that because another register opened up. I asked for the Blue chips which come with salsa..neither one of us saw Blue chips & salsa on the menu. There's an uncharge for those...Mine came with soup & chips so my daughter ordered the tomato basil soup. Off to the patio and wait about 6 minutes. The sandwiches were GREAT...the salsa was not made fresh...the soup...MEH. You do get FREE ice cream tho. It's nice and healthy and the salad bar is big but I don't think it's worthy of an $8.00 price tag. The salad bar as an add on is $4.95 more. Nah... It was $22.00 for both of us and it was OK. Look no further for the best gumbo in town!! I do not know where they got their recipe from, but I had assumed it was a regional addition for their restaurants on the gulf coast. I was quite surprised to find it is also on the menu of their restaurants in Indianapolis and Chicago! Go figure!! I was born & raised in Mobile, and as most of us locals know, it is getting harder and harder to find GOOD gumbo. Well, the gumbo at Jason's Deli IS GREAT! There is rice in the bowl--not mostly rice. The roux is rich, thick, and dark brown. As a coastie, I am pleased that it is not a sausage based gumbo, but seafood. The okra is cooked, but not cooked to pieces. The shrimp are not those disgusting salad shrimp, which cook away to nothing. I had seafood in every spoonful, until I got down to the last couple of ounces in a 16oz. bowl. Like everything else at Jason's Deli, there is no skimping on portions. Also, please do not add TABASCO sauce, or any other hot sauce, without tasting the gumbo. I like it spicy, and this is about as perfect as you can get. If I could give the gumbo 10 stars, I would!! read more

I'll start by saying that the food is always good at Jason's. Where they need improvement is in the mindset of the people working there. The last two visits I attempted to dine outside, employees were standing on the sidewalk about 20 feet apart talking very loudly about their personal issues (some of which was very personal) and smoking cigarettes very close to the customers outside. There were children present which made the situation even worse. I hope the management solves this problem as Jason's has always been a favorite of mine. read more

Service is always quick, prices are good, food is never compromised on taste or quality. They even sell cane sugar sweetened cream sodas for those who dislike the fountain drink. Place is always kept clean (including the rest room.) For me, best time I can go without hearing so much crowd noise is after 7pm, and especially after 8 when its peace and quiet and you can hear yourself think while enjoying the stomach stuffing menu they offer. And free ice cream...they surely do things good there unlike that dump next door! read more
