Creamy spinach (5/5); The perfect spinach as it was equally creamy to the spinach flavor. Pam fried mash potato (5/5): The top part was crusty and the masked potatoes had great flavor. Definitely a place to check out if you want fine dining.

I visited here long ago for brunch, which lived in my mind rent free, and I finally had a chance to come back. We stopped in for some bites before a baseball game at national Park. Because of the early hour at 4 PM, the restaurant was pretty empty. It's actually ended up working out, though, because our servers were attentive, and the food and drinks came out very quickly. We shared the escargot, lamb kofta potstickers, crispy mushroom Arancini, and cauliflower. The cauliflower was so delicious and savory, definitely with Middle Eastern influences, and I could've eaten a whole bowl of it. I thought the lamb kofta dumplings were pretty interesting--I haven't ever had anything like it before, and they did a good job of allowing the flavor of the lamb to shine through without being overly gave me. The crispy mushroom Arancini was quite good, though I'm admittedly quite small. The escargot was very well seasoned, with that perfect garlicky sauce, though they're not anything new. We all thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails, and all agreed that we had an excellent meal.

The weight was super busy, but we were able to meet a couple on the way in who had a reservation. When we got up to the front, we noticed that the couple ran to the counter at the bar and got seats. When we asked the hostess, how long the wait for a party of two would be she said one hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. I had to catch my flight so we definitely could not wait that long. Right when we were about leave and walk away, the very kind and nice couple (Montez & Alayna) that we met walking up, told us that they had secured bar seats and that we could take their breakfast brunch dining reservation. THIS WAS A BLESSING! I purchased their first round of drinks because they were generous with their reservation. There are great people in this city, thanks! We were seated right away at a dining table, and the place was packed, as usual. Our server was wonderful. I believe her name was Alisha or Aisha, and she took care of us very well. We ordered: Naan Bread Appetizer, Blueberry Pancakes with Mascarpone, side of chicken sausage, Creme Brûlée French Toast, side of scrambled eggs, and side of Hash browns. For beverages we had coffee and apple juice plus water. Our food came out within 10 to 12 minutes and everything was delicious and amazing. We were so stuffed and really enjoyed our time here. At the end of our reservation the restaurant Manager approached us (named Derek or Ryan) with the gentleman from the couple who gave us his reservation. They surprised us each with a decadent dessert! This was in response to us buying their first round of drinks. The customer service of our server was AMAZING, the food was DELICIOUS, and the surprise desserts were FABULOUS! This is definitely our go-to restaurant in DC. Thank you for another AWESOME experience!! it's about to rain. I see it.

Etc. Fun and good quality. I'm not sure I need to go back and experience it again but I would happily if someone else wanted to go. It was a lovely dinner with very pleasant staff. Highly recommend the sweet potato parker house rolls and red-skin mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy. Chicken parm florentine was good (the pasta it came with was especially luscious and delicious). The vanilla milkshake we got to go was a perfect dessert, not too sweet but just sweet enough with sprinkles. Only thing that was just fine were the crabby deviled eggs. I just felt they needed more of the classic egg yolk/mayo mix on top of/in combination with the crab. Partner got a version of a manhattan that was smokey and very well made. Overall great dinner and I can't wait to eat the leftovers

I think that they do what they do really well and not in a lazy way, as other restaurants in this genre often do. The pizzas are really good as well as the salads. They also have a really cute mimosa bar on Sundays and I believe you get a bottle of champagne for the table for $25 and then you can build your own mimosa at the station in the front. Overall, a really good option for when you have friends or family in town and want to dine at a place where everyone can find something on the menu that they like.

The gluten-free (Vegan without modification) mushroom pizza was full of flavor. Many varieties of mushrooms and vegetables. Didn't get the combination of cheeses requested so some toppings fell off. Some also fell in my mouth, haha. The pork chop was brined and grilled. Very flavorful down to the bone. Also enjoyed especially the Rosé Grenache and beverages. No photographic evidence of this meal, alas, but I recommend this restaurant and location for gluten-free dining.

The menu offers a good selection of traditional French dishes, and there is a rotating list of specials - one for every night of the week. To start, I went with the L'Ombre Royal cocktail and some escargots, which of course came with some crusty French bread. For the main - there were a lot of good-looking choices, but I went with the steak au poivre - a dish I've been meaning to try. The steak was good, but cognac demi-glace was outstanding. Went perfectly with a glass of the Saint-Émilion and garlic spinach. The service was friendly and well-paced.

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food -- definitely a spot worth putting on your brunch list. My date made the reservation for us, which turned out to be a very good idea because the restaurant was hopping! Definitely recommend making one ahead of time. We were both in the mood for a cocktail, but decided to explore the mocktail drink menu. He initially considered going with another coffee since it was still early, but ultimately went with an espresso martini. I tried the French 86, and both were great choices. The espresso martini was smooth and well made, while the French 86 was beautifully fruit-forward. And I have to give my date credit -- a man who isn't afraid to try my fruity cocktail! For food, we decided to share the avocado toast to start and added an egg, asking for it to be cooked a little more rather than very runny. We were glad we did because the toast was loaded with greens! It was definitely a little messy to eat, but in the fun, "this is actually delicious" kind of way. Nothing embarrassing... thankfully. He ordered the chicken and waffles, which he completely demolished. The sweet-and-savory combination was a big hit. I went with the French omelette, and it was delicious -- rich, flavorful, and surprisingly filling. I could only manage about half of it along with the salad! Overall, a wonderful brunch experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service was attentive, and there were so many tempting dishes coming out of the kitchen that we kept noticing things we wanted to try. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

Because it's a popular underground spot, it can definitely get incredibly busy and cramped in there. I've been multiple times, and almost every single time it is tough to find a spot to sit. However, I did come once during an off-peak time, right in the middle of the week around 1:00 PM for lunch--and it wasn't to busy, so we were easily able to just sit right at the bar.  I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
