After finishing a prior appointment, I went into the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg Il to pick up something nice for my 7mo granddaughter. I was sure I could find something at Janie & Jack that I'd like. Unfortunately I was VERY disappointed. There were some "cute" outfits, but the fabric was horrible. Very stiff and I will say most likely very uncomfortable for the one wearing. On top of that, they are selling these outfits for over $50.00 each. Personally, I will pay that if it's worth it To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Ended up at Nordstrom where I found something I was happy with and comfortable for baby. This store has beautiful baby and children's clothes. They are high-quality and top notch in workmanship but realistically, who can pay those high prices for clothes that a baby might wear only once or twice before he or she grows out of them? We received a gift that the baby had already grown out of before we could even take the tags off, so we decided to exchange it for something else. Wow, I was astounded at the high prices, but yes the clothes are so cute and stylish and well constructed. It took me 40' to drive to the store and I already checked on yelp to make sure that the store is open but they closed for lunch. They still have customers in there so I decided to wait outside to ask that if I can just do a quick return and come back another day to buy another things because it is the last day to exchange my items. Her interaction with Jesika was not at all as depicted in her review. I also shop at this location often and have been treated with nothing but a friendly, helpful, face. I've been here a few times, no doubt beautiful kids clothes. On the expensive side. Reminds me of Jacky Kennedy grandchildren style lol .. preppy conservative style. I found a tweed Chanel dress look alike last year for my girl. But I did not like what I heard inside the store from the person that works there. I think she's the manager with the glasses on. I've seen her before. She said something like "that stupid window washer guy didn't even clean the glass properly last time". Yes upon entering the store, I saw a guy was cleaning the display window. Usually, I get very basic (ok, cheap) baby stuff from H&M, Target and Carters. Hey, babies look cute in anything! But I had 1 adorable hand-me-down Janie and Jack dress, which makes me extra happy to see my daughter wear. So I know that the quality and design are awesome. But the price is a bit gahhh for me. Therefore, I never bothered to step into a Janie and Jack. Today, I had to exchange a gift that my daughter already outgrew. If there is a typical Janie and Jack customer, I do not look like it. (Across the street, Nespresso employees almost always turn their nose down at me, but that's a story I wrote another time lol). To my pleasant surprise, the salesperson by the name of Amparo* was truly professional and helpful, even when he had to juggle multiple customers. Yeah, so I was able to exchange 1 dress and cardigan for 5 dresses (on sale, duh). He signed me up for email coupons, which are very necessary for my future JJ purchases. *I just read some previous reviews. I really lucked out with Amparo. For struggling companies, brick and mortar stores need more employees who will attract new customers. read more

The two people barely showed me what I asked for and ignore me completely after that. My good friend is expecting a precious baby girl in November. After we had a girl's lunch at Cheesecake Factory we walked over to Janie and Jack to take a peek. They were having a sale and Oh! My! Goodness! My baby clock was ticking like a time bomb (don't tell my husband)! At any rate, we oohed and ahhed over the cute clothes and we were helped by the sweetest employee. She didn't have a name tag...so I didn't get her name! My friend really wanted some shorts in a certain size and the employee searched through some clothes on the counter and even went and opened up a box in the back to look for us. I had a very underwhelming experience shopping here today. I have a hard time grasping the concept that someone who is working retail feels they are better than their customer. Like... you're the one working while I am a stay at home mom spending money in your shop... So no greeting for me even though I smiled as I walked in. The sales gal was friendly with every customer in there, still no acknowledgment of my existence. I was paying close attention to what people were buying...a couple shirts here, an outfit there. I take about 12 outfits up to the front, she is still cold, not too happy to be helping someone like me. Over $700 dollars later she finally said, "so are you buying some nice outfits for the holidays?" In my head, "Yes bish...yes I am, now have fun at work while I go sip lemonade with my friends and enjoy my time not working retail." But NO! Today we went to the store in Walnut Creek to get a few birthday presents for upcoming birthday parties. The moms always love the Janie and Jack creations for their kids. Okay so I totally had my "pretty woman" moment yesterday at this store. At least in Pretty Woman they told her she wouldn't need anything from the store. I walk in and the sales lady is near the back of the store talking to another customer( the only other customer in the store). I make my way to the back browsing as I go. While the sales lady is still yapping to the other customer. No eye contact or an acknowledgement that I was there.So I get it you can't multi task! I continue browsing for another few minutes and the only other customer that was in the store leaves. Still no "HI" or "Hello" from the "I'm better than you" sales lady. I love this store! They have the cutest outfits & the tall girl with the curly hair is so sweet! The other girls are great too, super attentive and pleasant. The stuff is a little pricey but you get what you pay for and all the clothes I've ever gotten from here last a long time. My girls are growing up and the store only carries to size 6 but the girls in store always offer to help me find other sizes online with FREE shipping! I'm shopping at this store location for 4 years already and spend a lot of money every time at lease 400$ each time I shop today I went to store and store manager jesika was working which for the first time I seen her she had attitude and being so rude at the beginning and what ever I ask she gave me very no makes sense respond I ask for size of dress if she had the size 5 and she said we don't go to Livermore and the regular associate works there she search on Susan's said we have some and found it on the back for me and very sweet girl it was another customer which sweet girl start ringing them up and prich match 30% online very fast and this whole time which took 20 or 30 min and she seen I was waiting just bringing merchandise instead of helping me and when the girl finished with other customer and it was my turn she jump to ringing me and she ringing me just full price which I show her my email and ask for 30% off so she told me I go online and look for that item and give her the online price and said but your associate was doing it for customer one by one item , looking online price and match it in the store and she keep telling me you don't understand she repeated so many time and telling me you not let me finish what I'm saying and I told her I understand and I do speak English why you keep telling me you don't understand my point is you should adjust the price instead of asking me to do it even her associate told her and she's says aaa my Wi-Fi slow it will be faster by your phone why I do her job and just putting everything in the bag and no tissue which they usually wrap every thing so nicely I don't know who give her that position which not qualify even for retail with this attitude no recommend this person to any one but I love Janie and jack cloths and quality and my family have a lot memories and pictures which this brand I hope they hire more nice people and promote better people for store manager read more

I just love this store! It's definitely a go to for special occasions for my girls and I always end up finding something just for fun too. The staff here is always friendly and helpful, I had a great experience with Amanda who helped me find the perfect coordinating outfits for my girls for a wedding we were attending, she made it so easy and enjoyable to shop. Soooo happy I stopped by this store on my latest shopping spree (yes, Christmas is definitely on its way!). I was so happy to see the amazing, beautiful selection of high quality clothing for my adorable grandchildren. The store staff was very helpful and friendly, and I was very impressed with Jesika, the Store Manager. After babbling at length about what I needed, she was so patient and spent "a lot" of time helping me select just the right colors, styles, and sizes I needed for my little ones. I not only appreciated her patience and kindness, but she had the most wonderful sense of humor, which was a great way to end my day. She found me adorable coordinating outfits for my son and daughter that I just LOVE. She was so patient and friendly and even played with my little one while I was making decisions. My husband and in-laws bought my baby girl some clothes for her birthday. They were cute, but didn't fit. It took me a couple of months to find the time to return them, and I wasn't given a gift receipt. My husband had told me how expensive the clothes had been, so I was expecting to get their full price in return, and buy something I really liked. Surprise! Because they had gone on sale and been discounted multiple times, I only got $20 in return. And because I didn't have a gift receipt, I had to use store credit, then invest another $10 just to buy a simple shirt! My opinion? Their return policy sucks. Why can't it be like Nordstrom's or Macy's, where they put a little sticker on the tag making the return simple? Is it really that hard? There seems to be something inherently unfair about when the gift giver doesn't include the receipt, the gift receiver wants an exchange, and the seller doesn't honor the full price of the item. There are plenty of nice clothing shops for children with good return policies. I certainly won't be shopping at Janie and Jack's ever again! read more

Very cute clothes. Very pricey too but the quality is great. If I had a girl I'd be bankrupt for sure. I went in to purchase a gift for my niece who recently had a baby. I was greeted warmly and not hovered over which is nice especially in Walnut Creek where people can be a little snooty. I made my selection and was rung up and the girl behind the counter asked if I wanted her to wrap it for me. My experience made spending all that money not so bad! This is a company that could care less about customer care. (Example) they "outsource" customer care. When you call, you feel like you're speaking with someone in a foreign country, like some (cable co.) how could they possibly care? This company has strange policies even before your purchase, then gets worse afterwards. I will never spend another dime at these very "Corporate" establishments. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing Christy, the assistant manager at Walnut Creek, is. My daughter was trying to buy a dress online, but a note came up that said they couldn't ship the dress to her state (CA, really???). Calling customer service, she was told that it was a glitch in the system and to keep trying. In the meantime, I told her that I would go to the Janie and Jack in Walnut Creek to see what they could do, as I remember them being extremely helpful in the past. Christy immediately got on the phone, figured out it wasn't a glitch but out of stock online, called numerous stores and found the dress in Denver for me (which wasn't an easy task, since most stores had shipped the dress to the outlets, which don't ship to customers). Christy was persistent, efficient and overall amazing! The customer service she provided was at a level that I haven't experienced in most of the retail stores in Walnut Creek for a long time!
