I would rate this a 3.5 if I could. Came here for the brunch lobster buffet. Pro-tip: If you're coming from the casino side, it's a bit confusing to find because it's tucked away in the hotel lobby. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. Everyone was incredibly welcoming. The seafood options were good with raw oysters, cocktail shrimps, snow crab clusters, crab claws, and lobsters tail cooked two ways. However, the rest of the buffet options were very limited. The highlight for me was the omelet station, which features chilaquiles and eggs made any way you like. The food consistency just wasn't there for the price point. My first plate was delicious, but by round two, the food tasted overly salty and a bit off. I also found the dessert station pretty disappointing due to the limited selection. Curiously, a nearby table celebrating a birthday was given complimentary cheesecake and ice cream, which looked much better than anything offered on the actual buffet line. We still had a nice time and would consider coming back to try their dinner buffet since I hear they have sushi, but hoping the kitchen finds its footing with consistency.

Just spent our anniversary weekend at the Jamul Resort and had the Lobster Brunch at the new Jamul 23 restaurant. Jamul 23 is not located in the actual casino. It is located in the hotel lobby area. The restaurant it's self is pretty small compared to most casino buffets, but it does the job. Lobster Brunch was $59 a person when we went. A little pricey for the food selection...but it was mostly seafood (lobster, crab, oysters) so it was to be expected. This is a brunch, but like I said, the selection was heavier on the seafood than the breakfast items. They did have white rice, which was a plus for me! The service is top-notch. The staff is friendly and very attentive to your needs. As great as this place is, the view is nothing to look at. The windows face the employee parking lot and the main road to the resort, with houses on the hill, which really takes away from the high class ambiance. The opposite side of the building would have been a prime view in my opinion. Overall, the food is delicious and I definitely had my share of lobster and shrimp!

Pricey. $80 per person. Our party had 7 people so the total initially was $560. Thankfully player card points came into play and took a chunk off the bill. The buffet itself is decent. Main items like lobster, prime rib, lamb meat, were some of the things I saw. There is a focus on seafood here so they also have king crab, sushi, oysters, shrimp. The dessert bar did have finger food type desserts. A mini crème brulee stood out. The aesthetics of this restaurant: crammed tables and a lot of weaving in and out to get around. Service was decent. Any party of 6 or more will be subject to an 18 percent gratuity.

Jamul 23 is inside the newer hotel wing at Jamul Casino. The space itself is modern, clean, and has great views of the surrounding hills, but the buffet area is small with a fairly limited selection. Their seafood selection of lobster, crab legs, scallops, shrimp, and oysters is fresh and tasty, with multiple lobster options to choose from. There's also carving stations with prime rib and steak, though the steak was a bit dry during our visit. A small Asian section offers rice and noodles, but overall variety is limited. Jamul 23 is a pricey buffet with solid seafood options, but the rest of the menu feels pretty limited. It's worth checking out if you're mainly there for lobster and crab, but don't expect much variety or standout service.

We went for the VVIP on a Wed. $80 per person. (Players discounts available) Seafood was good. Cooked food was just ok. I feel like it was worth it for me because I love a raw bar. My husband not so much. Service was great. The set up was nice.

Usually not a fan of buffet food but Jamul 23 had lots of good food options that were well prepared. Lobsters were a major plus. Servers were also very kind and attentive.

Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 I truly miss the classic San Diego casino buffets, so I was really glad to see that Jamul casino has one. It's always nice finding a spot that keeps that buffet experience alive. Jamul 23 Buffet is located on the hotel side of the casino, so be sure to park over there. I didn't realize that at first and ended up walking through the casino. It wasn't too bad, but it's always nicer to park closer to where you're actually going. We went during a weekday brunch and it was very calm. There was a good number of people dining, but it wasn't crowded or chaotic at all. I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. The selection isn't as massive as a typical Las Vegas buffet, but you can absolutely tell that the quality is there. And yes, it's all you can eat lobster. I definitely filled myself to my lobster's delight! There was sautéed lobster, fried lobster, crab legs, a seafood station, a carving stations, and even a chilaquiles station. They also had an omelette station, along with freshly squeezed juice and tea available. The dessert selection wasn't as extravagant as I usually prefer, but again, the quality was solid. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. The food was delicious, it wasn't overly crowded, the service was good, and it felt like a calm, enjoyable meal with great seafood options. I came with a friend and was treated, so I can't really speak on the price. But if you're craving lobster and seafood in a relaxed setting, this is definitely a spot to check out.

Jamul 23's Lobster Buffet is absolutely worth it. The food is delicious, consistently fresh, and an excellent value for what you get. If you're a seafood lover, this place delivers every time. What really sets Jamul 23 apart though is the service, especially Elise. She has been our server on a few occasions, and her warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness are truly outstanding. On one visit in particular, I watched her handle some extremely rude and disrespectful customers with incredible grace. She remained calm, kind, and genuinely pleasant throughout the entire interaction, never once letting it affect her service or demeanor. Seeing that level of class and professionalism speaks volumes about both Elise and the establishment. Buffets are often judged only on food, but the experience here is elevated because of people like her. Outstanding service like that makes Jamul 23 stand out well above the typical buffet experience. Great food, great value, and exceptional service. Highly recommend... and if you get a chance, ask to sit in Elise's section.

Came to check out the new buffet located on the hotel side of the casino. Pretty spacious but limited buffet choices. Great for seafood lovers. Lobsters, snow crabs, king crabs, Dungeness crab, fresh scallops and salmon! A few hot items like stir fry veggies, fried rice, they have some cuts of meat too. Steak and lamb chops, also a pasta station. Looks like they change the meats and pasta station up since it wasn't the same item as my last visit. They also have some desserts and charcuterie station. Overall, worth it if you're a seafood lover, great service throughout my whole dining experience. Walk in is welcome if you couldn't snag a reservation.

This buffet is located through the hotel. You have to take the elevators from the casino to the hotel. You go through a security check and walk down the hallway. The buffet is pretty new. It only opened about 2 months ago. Its really beautiful inside. It looks like there isn't much food, but there is a lot! If you like seafood, this is your buffet! My only disappointment is that the dessert section is very limited. The service is absolutely stellar. From the hosts to my server, they were excellent! My server Alexa was wonderful and kind and had a great smile. The meat carvers and bussers were so welcoming and just so nice! I was treated so well and taken care of! Love it! I love the deep fried lobster and pretty much all the crab. Its 80$ for dinner and 60$ for brunch 8am - 2pm. For brunch you get lobster also but not Alaskan king crib. The quality is superb. I've been to all buffets that claim to have good lobster and crab, but was disappointed bc the quality was just abysmal. Not at jamul 23! Its great seafood and an awesome experience. I like the eggplant and the butter they give you with the complimentary bread! Soooo good! I stayed for about 2 hours and had a lovely time. They have a bar there you can order all the drinks you want. My chardonnay was only 8-9$. My husband loved the clam chowder. They didn't have a big selection of salad and the meats didn't fair very well with me. The duck is too dry and the stir fry chicken was also dry. For what they had in desserts, it was all yummy. I will definitely be coming again. Not to gamble though bc i lost 400$ lmao, but i had a great time! The casino is also very nice, clean, and looks pleasing. Everyone here is wonderful and helpful. Highly recommend!

Jamul 23 located at Jamul Casino, is now the new brunch spot located near the hotel side of the casino. This brunch used to only be available on Sundays at PrimeCut but, now it is available 7days a week. Customer service was amazing and the food selection is better at this new location than before. The only difference I noticed is that you pay ahead of time rather than after your meal. They offer an omelet station, 3 styles of lobster tails, crab legs, shrimp, oysters in the half shell, skirt steak, a variety of Asian cuisine, some pastries, and regular breakfast items such as potatoes, sausage, bacon, etc. A full bar is also available for those who drink starting in the am hours as well as some machines to play while enjoying your brunch meal. It costs about $69 per person to dine. Which can be worth it as long as you enjoy seafood.

Had a solid experience at Jamul 23's buffet, it's definitely not a Vegas-level buffet, but what they do have is pretty good. There's a nice focus on seafood: lobster and crab legs were the stars of the show, and the omelette bar added a fun, made-to-order touch that's great for brunch. I did find the overall selection a bit limited compared to what you might expect from a classic all-you-can-eat buffet, but the items that are offered did have good variety. The beef rib roast was a overcooked, unfortunately, still edible, but not as juicy as I hoped. And while they had dessert options that were genuinely good, I really missed having a proper salad bar or more vegetable choices to balance out all the rich options. Service and atmosphere were pleasant, and the whole setup feels a bit more elevated and scenic than your typical buffet, which makes it a nice place to go for a weekend brunch or special meal. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area and craving seafood, but go in with realistic expectations about variety.

This review is mostly for the Viejas hotel as they have two on the property. I was offered a early check in which I was happy about and the gal in the front asked if I wanted the tower that faced the outlets or the tower that faced the parking garage. Naturally I picked not looking at the parking garage but as I settled in and put my bathing suit on I realized I had to walk through the casino with all my stuff and not too many clothes on that I asked if they would move me. They gladly did and again a room was available, thank you for that. The first thing I noticed when I entered was that there wasnt enough light and nothing was automatic. The curtains were hard to open and close because chairs and tables were in front of it and all the lights had to be switched on and off which was a little annoying for me. The elevators were slow but there was always housekeeping in the hallway if I needed any extra coffee or water and they were all really nice. You also couldnt log into your netflix or other streaming services which was a bummer. They did even have a cucumber lemon water in the lobby which was really refreshing as well. The pool was nice and had a DJ on the weekend but there was no service and no food as well. Just a walk up bar that was closed on Monday when I went, On sunday I did come down in my regular clothes to sit in a "cabana" for a moment when I was rudley asked to move as it was for reservations. I did see a reservation sign on the same bed the day before and it wasnt on there on Sunday so I thought it was ok to sit but the guy working there who didnt seem to like his job let me know he cant have me sitting there. I think next time they should just leave the reserved signs on there so there is no confusion and or just let someone sit if the pool is not even busy anyway. I did need the light to work so the lighting part cut my work time and they had robes and no slippers. Hopefully next time I stay it will be more available. I did win at bingo so overall I left pretty satisfied :)
