Jamie's is a locally, veteran-owned restaurant in Clinton. They take pride in the service they provide and the food they put out. The space is a former entertainment center that they transformed into a nice restaurant. They have rooms for parties and there's plenty of space between the tables. Service is always good as I think Chic-fil-A trains the staff. For this visit, I ordered the pancake platter, with scrambled eggs and sausage. When I saw the sausage I was a little taken aback because they looked like the pre-cooked kind. But they had a kick to them and were really good. They use real eggs, which is rare these days. I spent over 40 dollars for hamburger steak and what I got was horrible. The hamburger steak was so dry and hard, it was like trying to swallow sand paper. You shouldn't have to cut hamburger steak with a knife. Jamie's used to serve good food but not anymore. I won't be eating there again. Service was good but their food sucks. The food is average, the buffet is normal canned and fried southern food. Nothing to brag about. I will not take my family there again. A 20% 'gratuity' is added onto the buffet (or any) order with 5 or more people. We have 3 children and most of the time a visiting friend with them. No one waits on us. No one gets our drinks. At the buffet, certainly no one is serving our food. Our bill quickly jumps from $80 to $100 ... for no service. Just like someone taking an order at the gas station and charging a gratuity because you are honored to be in their presence. Might as well to the gas station down the road if no one is waiting on you. It is average. Nothing special. The bathrooms should be cleaned daily. read more

First impressions are EVERYTHING with that said here is my impression of Jamie's in Clinton,MS. Me and my girlfriend arrived at 10:00a.m. and waited for someone to be seat us for about 5 mins. before Christoper Martinez came to the front to offer (insert identifying pronoun). As we proceeded to order Christopher Martinez explained that he was both the waiter and the hostess which at this time of morning as a consumer would be fine as long as customers expectations were met. My girlfriend and I both order the $11 sausage gravy plate hers being w/o eggs with a side of bacon and mine being tomato gravy with the eggs (scrambled light) and side of meat. She got a sweet tea and I received a coffee. The bill was $36.28 which I thought was high being the dishes were $11 and drinks should be around 2.50-3.00. Christoper Martinez did indeed give me a receipt but I had to walk back and get the itemized copy as I still felt something wasn't right. Well upon looking at the receipt I was charged $12 for each plate when the billboard states $11 per plate. I was charged 2.50 x 2 for (1) drink and 2.75 for my coffee. I only asked for and received (1) cup for the sweet tea but charged twice interesting. So I walked up to the counter where Christopher Martinez was and politely inquired about the extra charges. (Insert identifying pronoun) immediately got defensive and argumentative about the prices and extra charges as I explained my concern. I asked him why does the digital menu state $11 and you charged me $12. He pointed at the paper taped to the counter (0.50 upcharge per egg per order). Fine I don't have an issue with that I explained expect my girlfriend specified she didn't want eggs so her price should indeed be $11. I told (insert identifying pronoun) I understand that he doesn't make the prices and an employee of Jamie's where he quickly puffed up and stated it not an employee I'm the manager. I replied to him you may be the manager but your are still an employee as you do not own the restaurant. On to the extra 2.50 for the drink Christopher Martinez admitted the mistake and gave me money back in the form of cash front the register. As I was explaining to his about the egg price discrepancy (insert identifying pronoun) was getting more and more argumentative with me the customer. I explained I'm not here to argue even though the business has the memo on the counter price on the digital billboard needs to reflect the price as that memo is not in direct line of site for patron to see. (Insert identifying pronoun) response to the discrepancy is I'll let the owner know. Well I indeed know the owner was onsite as he served a group of ladies in his restaurant. In closing customers need to get an itemized receipt with their food as to make sure price paid is correct price. The digital billboard needs to be updated to reflect the cost of inflation as not to confuse patrons in price and avoid an issue between patrons and staff. Christoper Martinez needs to kept his feelings in check and realize without customers walking in the door (insert identifying pronoun) would not have a job where DEI still exists. It was obvious from my experience that customer service wasn't for Christoper Martinez. read more

Stopped here during a road trip. It wasn't far off the highway and we didn't want a fast food breakfast. On the inside, it is very clean and new looking. The color scheme is strange and reminded me of a kids party place. He got the pancakes with sausage. The pancakes are ginormous...diameter and thickness. There was a nice cinnamon flavor. For looking fluffy, they were a little dense but made for quite a meal. The sausage was fine..but the patties are a little thin but with a nice spice. I had the build a breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. Standard, and they did fine with mine. Waitress was a delight. Place was pretty empty, which was a little surprising because seemed like a great random find. read more

Went there for lunch on a Friday and had the fried catfish. I missed out on the blue plate catfish special but that was fine. The restaurant is spacious and inviting with a full bar and television for catching the "big game". The service and server were impeccable. I think her name was Latoya or Latonya from my sales check. One of my favorite places in Clinton. Their burgers are really big and delicious. The sour dough bun really seals the deal. I also enjoy their chicken strips tossed in the Garlic Parmesan sauce. I've never left hungry or dissatisfied. Highly recommend this place. read more

Excellent food with very attentive staff, small town vibes with affordable prices. This is a place you can't miss out on if you've never tried it. With breakfast all day, amazing blue plate lunches, and a variety to select from for dinner, you could eat here three times a day and not get tired of it! We've been here 4 times or so and it's been a poor experience each time. The first few times, we just assumed it was a new place and there were just some issues to get ironed out as they opened, but the place has only gotten worse, not better. Service is the absolute worst. And it's not because they are busy, there were maybe 4 tables when we got there. It took about 25 minutes just for them to bring me a beer. We waited another 40 for them to bring our food out. We ordered a burger and a salad. I actually had to get up and walk over to the bar area because we hadn't seen our waitress since before the beer was brought. Our food had been sitting at the bar for a while and no one had bothered to bring it to us. This wasn't our first experience with bad service here, every time we've been, the wait staff have been inattentive, and slow. And the place has never been packed. The food is decent, but its pretty clearly pre-packaged stuff. In all, this place isn't worth your time or your money. I personally would be shocked if this place is still open in 6 months. read more
