James Lee, MD - This is the earwax my wife took out after these "ENTs" refused to clean because they saw no wax.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but sometimes it's a need to help others decide better…read more I had some hearing issues last year. After getting referred here by my pcp and was told my one ear was completely plugged. Dr Lee may or may not be the one seeing you as his PA Au does majority of the "simple" stuff while Dr Lee us doing the bigger and perhaps surgery etc. Let me say I been here Multiple times within a 7 month period and seen Dr Lee maybe twice. Not knowing anything and a little worried I agree to mostly whatever they recommend as I'm trusting them as professionals. 1st visit was consultation and send home to take antibiotic ear drops. 2nd visit, wax removal using micro vac. PA au and another apprentice did work on me. After I felt better but later that night loud ringing and bad bad vertigo symptoms. Went really bad for months with constant spinning feeling, nausea even when laying down. 3rd visit issues I'm having with the vertigo (my research indicated my sensitivity to the noise from the vac sucking). Get sent to do a MRI. 4th visit, results and get send scheduled for more testing. 5th visit, balance and heading test 6th visit, only getting told results from previous visit. 7th visit check up and cleaning again. BTW each visit is a "specialist" copay charge. They make you come in for a appt to tell you your results! Yeah with my constant visits i didn't know about and the huge bill afterwards. Balance test was a joke that cost couple hundred almost a grand all to tell me I have balance issues, yes I know that's what you're there to help me figure out. But only said you got balance issues from the test and to try these at home maneuvers.

This came out of my ear after James Lee and another doctor at this group both told me I had zero…read moreearwax. They looked in my ear for a few seconds, said you have nothing to take out, ordered a hearing test. I knew they were wrong but they are proud yet inept. I pushed back to James Lee saying I feel earwax in there when I push on my side and I can't hear. He said verbatim "why would I lie to you?". I didn't have an answer because I didn't think he was lying. I just thought he missed it. And he did. Big time. There is an ENT shortage on the island, but that's not an excuse to be dismissive and too proud to listen and check again. This "doctor" is really really bad and also really rude. Only go here as a last resort.

Mixed review because Dr. McLaughlin is GREAT, but his staff, not so much. Seeing the reviews, I bet…read moremost of the negative experiences are due to his staff and their ineptness. Not all of them are bad, but enough to make it seem that way. But again, I liked Dr. McLaughlin's manner, thorough explanations, and professionalism. Hope he can weed out the losers.

He looked in my ear and throat and saw post nasal drip. He prescribed an antihistamine and said that might fix it. Then he scheduled a hearing test. The antihistamine didn't help and I came in for a hearing test. When I saw Dr McLaughlin again, the first thing he said was 'you need a hearing aid'. I said 'OK, I'll look into that but what about my clogged ear'. He looked at the hearing results and in my ears for 5 seconds and told me 'your ears are fine'. And then stood up as if that was the end of the consultation. I felt that It was a waste of my time, that he had no inclination to try to solve my hearing issue. I positively would not recommend Dr McLaughlin BTW. I had my PCP refer me to another ENT. They looked at my hearing test results, asked me a lot of questions (did I swim underwater a lot. does the clogged feeling go away if I bend down or lay down. Have I lost a lot of weight recently), examined me more thoroughly and offered a possibility that I had Patulous Eustachian Tube. That's what it turned out to be.

I didnt wait long before being called in to see Dr. Murakami. After sitting down and being in there for about 30 seconds I was already getting rushed vibes from him. He asked very few questions and the information I did provide him he didnt seem to be listening and almost felt like he was "brushing" me off. At first he wasnt writing anything I was saying down and then almost out of force he started writing down my symptoms. I went in for tonsil stones that have been causing irritation for quite some time, and a chronic sinus issue - I even told him about my lymph nodes always being swollen. He did not do any type of physical exam to my throat or nose for the issues brought to his attention. After a 3 minute visit he ushered me out with a recommendation to use mouthwash. I felt very rushed, ignored and like he wasnt listening to anything I was saying. He made me feel foolish for coming in and the my concerns were invalid. I would not recommend this doctor, go to someone who still cares about their patients concerns.

Interrupted my husband multiple times while he was trying to ask questions or explain symptoms. Scraped his ear painfully while apparently digging out ear wax. The doctor looked bored to death to be there. I think it may be time he retire. I've never met a doctor who seemed to care less about a patient than him. And what's up with the $29 copay? We will not be visiting again.
