Being that I never had any business or appointments in the Queen's Physicians Office Building II it was a little tricky to find on my first time, it's located on 1329 Lusitana St on the closer to the freeway, Yup I got lost! .....With that being said on to my review.... I was referred by my other ear-nose-and throat doctor (Otolaryngologist) to see Dr.Liu for sinus surgery which I could have lived without doing, but who in their right mind likes take extra Meds for the rest of their life when you actually can do something about it,not me. Hey I rather suffer one week than be miserable the rest of my life! Before going to the office I had them fax over the forms because I hate trying to fill out those things when I don't have all information with me. It was easy enough and brought the forms with me when I went in for my appointment, that saved me a headache and so much time. Dr. Liu is a pretty nice mellow Doctor, he did an endoscopic sinus exam and explained in simple language when he played back the video, yes a video! It was like exploring some spooky cave..haha! Well I knew that I had some kind of blockage problem, after watching the video and listening to the Dr.Liu it was a no brainer on what I needed to do, schedule the surgery. There is some things you have to do a week prior before the scheduled surgery, get a Pre-op physical from your Doctor, Get a CT scan of the sinus cavities and take these nasty steroid pills, which weren't really bad at all, it may vary from person to person. On the day of the surgery I checked into Queen's Medical Center 1-1/2 hrs prior to the surgery procedure. Everything went smoothly with my operation, I awoke to smiling staff faces along with a tray filled with juice, ice chips and crackers to munch on.They explained the medication which they had ready for me and soon after I was on my way. Of course they don't let you drive home, so you do need to schedule a ride. There is a print out of instructions that is given to you that explains every you need to know and do, really simple to read and follow, also you have to make a follow up appointment two days after the operation with Dr.Liu. *Big Mahalo Dr.Liu for your surgical expertise and taking care of my sinus problems!

He must've retired & unable to locate him. He is not listed anywhere. He was an excellent ENT doctor.

However, one star too many for the office…read more Let's be clear from the start: Dr. John Cho was impeccable--professional, courteous, attentive, and outstanding in every aspect of care. If this review were only about him, it would be an easy five stars. Unfortunately, the experience at the front office of Straub Benioff Medical Center - Waterfront Plaza Clinic felt like an entirely different operation--marked by confusion, inefficiency, and an attitude that was at times dismissive and outright arrogant toward patients. One week before my appointment, I called for directions. After what seemed like an internal conference among the front desk staff, I was given incorrect information--including the wrong nearby street for a clinic located inside a large and confusing medical complex. They also failed to mention that the clinic entrance is hidden on the ground floor, on the opposite exterior side of the building from the main entrance. In practice, this turns arrival into a kind of unintended scavenger hunt through a maze-like structure. I eventually found it after about 10 minutes of circling and decoding their "hidden entrance logic." Parking and copay instructions were also not properly communicated in advance. I only learned upon arrival--not over the phone as should be standard--that my parking portion would be $5 or less. However, I was ultimately charged $5.50. While it is only a 50-cent difference, the issue is not the amount itself. Given that I spent barely 10 minutes with the doctor after nearly two hours of waiting, and after paying hundreds of dollars for the consultation, it would have been the bare minimum courtesy to fully validate the parking. Not for the financial value, but as a basic acknowledgment of the time lost due to poor communication, disorganization, and inefficiency. Several patients with flip phones also appeared frustrated with the smartphone-based validation system, only to be met with a dismissive and somewhat arrogant attitude rather than any effort to offer alternatives or assistance. Then came the scheduling experience. At 8:00 a.m., 90 minutes before my 9:30 appointment, I called to explain I had an urgent CT scan at 10:30 a.m. that Dr. Cho needed for my evaluation, and that I would need to leave by 10:15. I also asked--speculatively--whether I might be seen sooner if I arrived earlier. I made it clear that I would only come early if it would actually help me be seen sooner. I later learned from the nurse that arriving earlier would not have changed anything unless the doctor had been directly informed. The front desk nevertheless told me to come as soon as possible and said they would try to squeeze me in before 9:30 a.m. At around 8:20 a.m., while already in the parking lot, I called again to confirm Dr. Cho was on schedule and reiterated my time constraints. I was reassured everything would be fine. At around 8:30 a.m., after finally locating the hidden entrance, I was again told not to worry. After a short 95 min. wait, at 9:45 a.m., I was finally brought into the consultation room, only to learn from his nurse that Dr. Cho was still behind and had two patients ahead of me. Despite multiple calls and clear communication, neither the nurse nor Dr. Cho had been informed of my time-sensitive situation. Only when I made it clear I was preparing to leave without being seen did the situation suddenly become efficient enough to resolve. I was seen at approximately 10:10 a.m., (only 40 min. past my appointment time), and by 10:20 a.m. I was rushing out the door to make my CT scan appointment--an appointment I had waited six months for. Dr. John Cho deserves five stars without hesitation. The front office, however, at Straub Benioff Medical Center - Waterfront Plaza Clinic, deserves 1 star--generously--due to poor communication, organizational failure, and an overall dismissive and at times arrogant attitude toward patients navigating a very real logistical system they themselves created.

But no, this dude is a literal f****** asshole. He hovers by the door and you can tell he just wants to get out as soon as possible. FIRST VISIT: He seems to enjoy you being in pain. I just wanted to know if it was safe to use vaseline or another special ointment in my nose for a cut but he was like "i need to cauterize it". I was like that bad? Only for me to find out AFTER it was just large blood vessels he was not a fan of. The cauterization of the nose process was so painful but he just kept going and did not even warn me that it was going to be so painful. He didnt even tell me how to take care of it after! Guess why? Guy was standing by the door telling me to get out ASAP. He didnt even look at where the cut was or address it. SECOND VISIT: I went in for my throat but he takes out the equipment to check my ears and nose just to include it in my bill?? My dentist said he felt a hard lump in my throat and to get it checked out. I tell him this and he just looks inside and shrugs his shoulders saying he doesnt see anything. I HAD TO TELL HIM TO FEEL FOR IT. Only then is he like oh maybe get a CT scan. Like hello? You tell me, am i the doctor here? So dismissive and so unprofessional. There is an ENT shortage on the island, but that's not an excuse to be dismissive and too proud to listen and check again. This "doctor" is really really bad and also really rude. Well after about a couple of days, I tried to use one of those over the counter medications, but it didn't help like it used to in the past. I guess the problem was a little bit bigger than I had thought. So I decided one morning to make an appointment with an ENT doctor. My first inclination was to look up doctors in the area that had good ratings. After settling on a Dr. at Queens, I decided to call. But I was informed that the earliest appointment I could make was two weeks away. Who wants to hear out of only one ear for two weeks? I then called for doctors at Straub and the same thing happened. But I was told that Dr. Kaku could fit me into his schedule in about an hour. I was kinda hesitant because I found out that he was in his seventies and there were no reviews on him. But wanting to hear won me over. So I decided to take a chance. Boy was I wrong. Dr. Kaku was great. He had a great bedside manner and he took his time in removing wax from both ear canals. I was told that I had really small ear canals so that kinda made it a hassle, but he used every method to remove all the wax. It was like night and day when he finished. If you see this review and are looking for a ENT doctor, please don't hesitate on going to see him. He was very professional and attentive. Plus I got an appointment right away!
