I would highly recommend Dr. Stoddard! Very knowledgeable and he offers a lot of options rather than prescribe medication or insist on surgery. I had a stuck nose which I couldn't breathe out of for over a year due to a deviated septum- the first ENT I went to told me "surgery or nothing". Dr. Stoddard gave me options and soon after I was breathing normally again without the use of medicine or surgery! I have had two parotidectomy surgeries with Dr. Stoddard recently. While he has performed many other types of surgeries more frequently, he has now done quite as many parotidectomies. He didn't see the necessity of having a drainage system hanging from the back of my neck. I still agree with him today when he said the results would be the same, and self-care during recovery can be difficult and painful with the drainage system. I must also say he is very experienced; he performed my surgeries with minimally visible scarring, especially in front of my ears. More importantly, he preserved the functionality of my facial nerves in both surgeries, likely due to his excellent surgical techniques and skills. Dr. Stoddard was also very patient with me when I panicked after the first operation and needed to see him because water was trickling from the incision site. He saw me almost immediately, changed my dressing, and remedied the situation. He kindly explained all my post-op questions in layman's terms. His clinic staff are also caring and prompt in their services; the waiting time to see the doctor was never too long. I highly recommend Dr. Stoddard for parotidectomy or any other surgeries involving potential scarring or nerve dysfunction in the head area, as these can affect appearance and function. I can't thank Dr. Stoddard enough for the care he provided. May God bless him and his family for genuinely caring so much about his patients' fears and needs. I initially came to Dr. Stoddard for chronic post nasal drip....... After my first exam he informed me he could do a procedure to stop my post nasal drip but the procedure was not guaranteed and only had a 70% success rate or something like that. He also informed me I had a deviated septum of which he could correct at the same time as the other procedure....... He sounded pretty confident with the second procedure and I assumed it would be fixed 100% Boy was I wrong! After 4 months both procedures were a complete failure and the second procedure (fixing deviated septum) actually made my breathing worse! I never had a problem breathing through my right nostril but after his procedure I can barely breath through my right nostril! Follow up exam 4 mo later all I get is "sorry I did the best I could"! Great! Thanks! I didn't need to fix my deviated septum cuz I didn't have a problem breathing! I paid this Guy $2k out of my pocket to make my life worse:( I would not recommend coming to this guy for anything. read more

Would give no stars if possible. This Dr. has put my husband in a DANGEROUS situation! He had been receiving a medication to help keep the polyps in his nose under control. He needs it every other week. His refill didn't come so on July 25th, he reached out to pharmacy care and was advised his Dr. needed to update his authorization. Dr. Stoddard's office said it's too much work for them to provide the authorization and sent a referral for a different dr. My husband didn't receive a call so he reached out again on August 9th. He did not get a call from this new dr's office until August 25th! IF YOU KNEW YOU WERE NO LONGER GOING TO AUTHORIZE THIS MEDICATION, THEN YOU SHOULD'VE GIVEN ADVANCE NOTICE OR PROVIDED NOTICE THE LAST TIME HIS PRESCRIPTION WAS FILLED. I AM FURIOUS because my husband is now having a hard time breathing and his appointment with this new dr to provide the authorization is not available until NOVEMBER! If you depended on a medication to breath and your doctor didn't tell you they were no longer going to do it for you AFTER you needed it because it's "onerous", how would you feel? This isn't a Teapresso where you can refuse service, you are dealing with people's livelihood. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR OFFICE! Get out of business if you're not going to do the work! read more

A big part of being a good physician is actually seeing your patient. When one goes to the trouble of verifying with the insurance, calling the doctor's office to verify participation in the insurance, seeing a PCP for a referral, then following up to make the appointment, it is unconscionable to THEN tell the patient that they are NOT taking new patients from THAT insurance! read more

5 stars for the doc 3-4 stars for Straub, and I'll tell you why - I was nervous to make an appointment at Straub since I've never been to their hospital before. The scheduling system is a bit confusing. I called and got some kind of automated answering system that put me on hold. I was confused, am I calling the doctor's office? A lady answered and asked me who I wanted to see, I just needed an ENT because my ear hurt. She asked me a lot of info for their records and somehow knew I stayed at Pali Momi when I was 4 years old. What. I don't remember? They were booked MONTHS out but they just had a cancellation and she kindly put me in for the next week with Dr. Stoddard. The directions were a little confusing but I figured I'd figure it out there. I got a reminder call that I missed while I was at work and asked me to confirm. I tried to call back 3 times but I got the automated system again. When I finally got a person, they didn't know who I was and took a while to figure out it was a confirmation call. Everyone I ever spoke to was nice but the answering system is very time consuming. When I got to the hospital, it was confusing since I'd never been there. Walk right past the starbucks kiosk and into that far right corner hallway. Then up the elevator and all the way into the ENT area - it's like a MAZE IN HERE like a bombshelter, super old maze. Allow yourself time to figure it out. The waiting area leaves much to be desired but doctor was amazing, very kind, very smiley and nice. He looked in my ears, told me what he thought and actually interested in all my other weird medical history that I brought up incase they were related. He seemed to actually LISTEN to what I was saying even though i was bad at describing the feeling, and he did address everything I said. He even did one more test after we wrapped up and was leaving because it just popped into his head that it might be interesting to do. I appreciate that! Great doctor, great demanor, nice guy! We love Dr Stoddard. He knows our family well, he has a great bedside approach, and he makes an excellent effort to meet our unique needs. I always feel listened to and never rushed. I have faith that if he doesn't know a solution he will try his best to find one and he's willing to reach out to past dr's to see what went well or didn't work. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Stoddard yesterday for follow up on an abnormal thyroid test. He is an ENT that specializes in thyroid issues. His office is located on the second floor in the building behind the pharmacy adjacent to the main hospital. He is a USC alum and a fellow marathoner. He has a very gentle touch (the camera had to be placed up my nose and down my throat) and has a very easygoing demeanor. The procedure was done so gently, that it wasn't even uncomfortable. Went for my first apointment at 10am. Signed in at the front desk,his assistant called me in a couple of minutes. Doctor came in right after I gave some information to his assistanrt. Dr. Stoddard was easy to talk too and explained everything so that it made me feel comfortable. His approach in his practice is outstanding. He asnwered any questions or concerns I had in a very calm manner. You could just tell this doctor is the real deal. So professional and caring of his patients it suports his 5 star reviews. I went to 5 different doctors to find relief from my burning mouth syndrome and Dr. Stoddard was the only one to not only know what was wrong, but also was so warm and informative on all the questions I had. I have to say Dr. Stoddard's office exceeded my expectations. I arrived 20min early to my appointment because I am not familiar with the Strubb clinic in town. The front desk was pleasant and they seated me 15min early to my appointment. His medical assistant(sorry** I forgot her name) was very friendly and she was also very careful and professionalI administering the Flonase(nose spray) and Lidocaine for my nose. I went for a consultation for my all year problem with my sinusitis. She explained that there is a patient ahead of me and doctor will see me and when he is done I told her it's okay since I came to my appointment early and that I was thankful that she seated me early. I didnt have to wait longer because Dr. Stoddard walked in short after and during my consultation he explained it very well the causes and effects. He did not push to do more test because he already know I can't handle and I am greayful. He explained very well about problem. He went and showed me visually because I am a visual learner Little did I know I will now have a solution and hopefully I dont have to deal with this problem. read more
