My name is Anela Ochoa. The Referral lady there discriminate people like me. I'm Bi-polar, have Congestive Heart Failure, and bone to bone knees on both sides. I wanted a electrical wheel chair. Instead they recommended me a walker. I just got threw talking to Nicole and we ended up arguing on the phone and on her other end she was yelling at me. She is so unprofessional. I take the bus and I go to all of my doctor's appointments but there is one thing I'm walking half way to my doctor's appointment but I end up sleeping on the side walk. I just can't make it to any of my doctor's appointments. The Handi Van is not going to work because there always late or don't have a van for me. On top of that i don't have any money. I blew my whole Social Security money on the first week. I'm an terrible money spender who can't save up money. Thank you. I saw Dr. Miscovich once, nearly a year ago, for 15 minutes. I was supposedly scheduled for labs and a GI consult--then heard nothing for months. When I followed up, the receptionist told me I could just walk in for labs and she'd follow up on the referral. That turned into 3 separate trips due to an insurance error--Dr. Miscovich's office had sent over my dental insurance. I had to go back and forth between offices just to get basic labs completed. Still no word on the GI consult. Two months later, I messaged through their portal asking about my lab results. The response: "If you have any questions please call and schedule a lab follow up visit over the phone or in person." No explanation, no summary--that was it. As for the GI consult? After leaving multiple voicemails and hearing nothing, I called the GI office directly. They told me they had rejected the referral 6 months ago due to the same insurance error. I left another message with Dr. Miscovich's office... and then another - no response. Finally, I left 1 last message : "Ok, you win. I give up." Hopefully I'm not dying, but I can't count on this doctor to let me know either way. read more

I've been seeing PA Edwards and I can't imagine how I would have gotten through it all without him. The admin staff is super efficient and friendly, the medical assistants are emphatic and knowledgeable, the clinic is spacious, clean and in a great location. PA Edwards' expertise, listening skill and how he communicates with a patient along with his approach to treatments helped me tremendously while dealing with some difficult medical issues. read more

Avoid this practice at all costs. You will never see an actual MD only whatever PA they have on staff that day. What you will also never get is any actual care, referrals or due diligence from the staff. My last encounter with one of the PA's was him trying to convince me that in the medical field it's normal to wait 8 weeks of back and forth between offices to actually get a call back from a referral. The reason you won't get a call back from the physicians office that you are being referred to is because this office has failed to send the referral. The over all care from the office is non existing. It's the responsibility of your primary care provider to follow thru with referrals and make sure you as their patient is getting the treatment you need. This office will not accomplish that and will only give you the run around. They care more about the dogs they have in the office than the patient. read more

Our family has been with Dr. Miscovich when he actually use to be there at his clinic! His name is there but u be lucky to ever meet him at the clinic! He is a great Dr... but I'm doing this review based upon his business. He has been our family physician for over 12 yrs... but have never seen him for 10 of those 12! This last appointment kids needed a physical for school sports so took them there and they were checked by a NP... they were finished then informed us that they don't take UHA insurance that if I want the paper for there school I would have to pay 600-800$ out of pocket. No call to say they stopped taking our insurance but just dumped! No recommendations for another dr who takes uha! Just bad business! Called every dr to see if they would take a family and after 8 months finally met and got a primary! Very happy we were dumped! We found an awesome family Dr that actually is at his clinic! read more

If I could get Dr Miscovich as my primary, I would do it in a heart beat. Cause of covid I came to realize this is not happening. My last appointment was so bad, 1.5 hour wait in the waiting room and 44 minutes in exam room. Just to be seen by "Dr Can't look at charts for second to see whom she's speaking too" was the sign to leave this practice. Having been to the old office I didn't mind the packed rooms long waits, I even remember doctor green in the office before politics. Want to blame office for inconsistencies but I've come to like them alot over the years. He just stretched thin so if you can make a appointment with him great but just be prepared for long waits. Dr. Scott Miscovich is never at his clinic. In the 6 years I been going there I have never seen him, only his nurses. The last time I was there his nurse tested my right arm and damaged the muscles in my arm. I ended up getting an operation on my arm from Dr. Darry Kan. Dr. Kan did a new job fixing my arm and I'm almost 100% better. Besides that, they don't return your phone calls, which I have complain about. They don't fill your prescriptions over the phone, you have to down to their office, that's because they don't return your call. They say they do. Ha Ha Ha. What a joke. The workers there are friendly I"m done with this place. You might asked why it took me so long? That's becasue I rarely get sick, but when ever I need medical help, I going to see a nurse, not a doctor there. Yes, I'm looking for a real doctor now and there seems to be quick a few in the Windward Area. Good By for Ever! read more

We had about ten days of mom's meds left, so I called Miscovich's office to place a refill order. They said, "sure we'll have your order ready for pick up at Longs."They also said that we needed to schedule mom her annual checkup, so I schedule it for the following week. I go to pick up mom's meds at Longs and Longs says we can't pick up her meds until after she sees her dr next week. So then mom runs out of her meds and now we need to wait about 4 more days to see her dr. So, we go to her drs appointment today, they have us and about 5 other patients all scheduled at the same time. My 88 year old mother and I are waiting in the waiting area for an HOUR and 15 minutes. They finally put us in a room. We wait there for another 20 minutes. We waited for a total of an HOUR and 35 minutes. Not once, did any of the staff come in to check in on us! No one ever came to tell us, "oh so sorry, we have a lot of patients today so it's gonna take awhile til the dr can see you." Then the dr finally comes in and she says, "oh her prescription was filled two weeks ago and it's been sitting at Longs." I replied, "No...Longs called your office and your staff denied her refill until after her drs appointment." The dr flat out lied to us. This place sucks! They kept my 88 year old mom waiting and waiting and waiting! No common courtesy! Nobody to check in on you to see how you are doing. You're just a number and $$ to them. We are never going back!!! Dr. Miscovich, and Dr. Hoffman shame on you for not treating your patients, especially your elderly patients, better. You all suck! read more

This place has gone to bleep. 1 hour wait just to talk to someone for one minute who couldn't care less. Why such a long wait if you're rushing people out the door? Then they bill your insurance $100's of dollars? This place has become the fast food of medical care. I hope they are not taking any new patients. Highly recommend for Workers Comp claims! I was getting the run around with the other facility regarding my workers comp injury. It was a different doctor all the time and my regular doctor doesn't take workers comp claims. Called a friend and he recommended Dr Miscovich. Best recommendation!!! My boyfriend sees Dr. Curenn, they wanted him to do labs, said he could go to any Diagnostic Labs, we fasted, went into Diagnostic Labs on Monday and they didn't have his order from the doctor, tried to call the doctor's office so they could call in the order right away so we didn't waste the fast but no one answered and we were third in the queue for forever. Today, he needs a Rx refill, and we're still waiting for a call back to get his labs ordered and no one is answering the phone. We left a message, we'll see if someone calls back...not impressed by this office so far. read more

Dr Miscovich has treated me, since I moved to Oahu in July 2016. His bedside manner earned him an A+ with me. It is nice that he is not rushed during my appointments. He takes time to listen to me, and he provides great feedback and recommendations. Elizabeth is a PA. She is SPECTACULAR. I adore her. She is well educated, has a terrific demeanor and has enough compassion for an army. The office staff are also professional, friendly and knowledgable. I have honestly never seen Dr. Miscovich. I always see the PA Che and she is most helpful and caring, however to get her after you leave is impossible. There is no way to email her or leave her a voicemail. There is an answering service but the voicemail box is always full and they never answer. How can you get in or find out results? This is not good patient care when this is happening! I'm thinking it's time to look for another primary care doctor! read more

Shey who works under Miscovich has been such a great help to my mom that she always gets things done right away always informative when you need information and with my moms diabetes has been very patient in trying to keep it maintained by trying different solutions. My mother and I have been trying to get her eyes done for the past 2 years because she's not able to see out of both eyes Shey has been very patient and very understanding in trying to control her diabetes. Dr. Miscovich is my PCP, but I always see one of the nurse practitioners. I live in Makakilo and drive to Kaneohe as this office is THAT great. They also operate the Urgent Care next door. I've never had a hard time getting an appointment, the front of office personnel is very accommodating. They also have a referral desk again very easy to deal with that staff. This office also handles No Fault claims. I've NEVER been disappointed and refuse to change to an office close to where I live. read more

I loved miscovich as my pcp before the pandemic, but with in the past 6 months I've come to the conclusion that I need to get a new PCP. I recently had some health problems with my neck and back. Ive made 6 appointments that ended in the same way, with nothing being done, no medication cream or muscle relaxors to help with my sleep. Im so frustrated with this "new doctors" from miscovich office. They make me feel stupid when I bring up what I researched online. Im so over this bullshit! Absolutely avoid this "doctor" at all cost. I had the misfortune of going for a Covid antibody screening test in Kakaako which this doctor's office was apparently sponsoring. I had blood drawn and then no response, no results, nothing -- and it has now been 5 weeks. I called the number on the paper I received at the test site multiple times -- it goes directly to a recorded message telling you you can text them at that same number, which I did, multiple times -- never a response. But it gets worse. I then find out that not only have they *billed* my insurance company for this screening test for which they never provided any result, but they added a $278.53 charge to the cost of the test for a "visit" to this doctor, whom I have never seen and never even directly dealt with. In fact, I only know this doctor's name because it was on the insurance claim. And I then called *his* number directly and -- you guessed it -- straight to a recorded message, no way to leave voicemail. So now I have to go to my insurance company and tell them to *reject* both of these charges and then look into filing a report with the state attorney general regarding insurance fraud. read more

This used to be an excellent practice. Have been a patient for 5 plus years. Staff not responsive. Can no longer reach anyone or any department by phone. Have to call 10 plus times if one expects to make contact with anyone. Can't leave messages - voicemail full. Lots of new staff - very undisciplined. Indicative of rapid growth. This office needs a major attitude adjustment. Dr M needs to regain control over his staff. I suspect he's not aware of the dysfunction. He's a really busy guy. read more

Dr Miscovich and his staff are very helpful and caring. They are a big office and sometimes paperwork can get backed up .. BUT they are aware of areas that need improving and have worked continually to try to solve the problems of a growing multifaceted practice AND take excellent care of their patients at the same time also being understanding and thoughtful of their patients time and limitations. What I like most about the practice is they treat ALL their patients with kindness and respect regardless of race, gender, economic status, mental health etc ... wether homeless or affluent, everyone is equal in this office. read more

I've seen Dr. Hoffman (same office as Dr. M) for many years when she was in Honolulu. I like Dr. HOffman but it is difficult to get anyone to answer the main line. And the voicemail is always full. If you call after hours you might get lucky and get someone to answer the phone. read more

My husband and i have been going to Miscovich for over 10 years when he was in the American savings bldg. He was attentive and professional. We've had multiple PA's in the last 5 years who are also knowledgeable and kind. There was a time when it was difficult to contact the office to make an appt or the wait was long but not now. Dr. Scott J Miscovich lets down his patients. As the previous review mentions, he's Nowhere to be Found? My mother had him for her primary physician for years. Talking with him he seems to be the nicest guy around (don't be fooled).It's only a nice smiling face he puts on and not a sincere and caring person and doctor inside. We took my mother to get a physical 2 weeks before she passed. He seen nothing wrong with her except her health was diminishing slowly(87 yr's old) but she was under good care as all of the people that was taking care of her was there for her physical, to hear what his professional opinion was about her health. Yes he talks sincere but only to find out, when you do need him, good luck in finding him. My father's physician Dr. Chung in Kailua was easy for EMS to get ahold of (through physician exchange)and it only took 5 minutes for EMS to get the info they needed to get the release paper ready so his body could be transported to the mortuary(he had cancer). EMS does check the deceased and they always send an HPD officer to be present when your family member passes away at home (just some info for the ones that don't know). Everything was in order but they couldn't get ahold of Dr Scott J Miscovich. They also felt this was odd and HPD also felt, where was the doctor at? Usually in all cases, they can get a doctor wherever they're at, through Physician Exchange. His receptionist were giving us all, the run around. They tried for over an hour almost 2 hours. Now if you are seeing one of his understudies that he employes, also be aware, they can't give the OK for the patient release to EMS. It seems Dr. Scott J Miscovich sends his patients to his understudies so he has more free time? Why have so many understudies working for you when they have limited abilities and power to handle the important decisions? Again, think, it's all about your health and life and not theirs. You can't be healed by a smiling face. I'm glad I myself am a Straub patient for over 40+ years and had no problems. I hope Scott J Miscovich knows Kaneohe and really the whole Windward side is a close knit family(I've been here for 50+ years). I already came across a few of his patients as I'm doing my mother's burial procedures. Well I guess I don't have to mention, what they felt about going to him now(he's not there for his patients during the real time of need) Yes they were shocked Physician Exchange couldn't get ahold of him. We all know they can, no excuses. So what did the doctor do? Had HPD having to keep an officer here for over 2 hours, keep EMS tied up for over an hour, having to talk a few times with the medical examiner's office, in other words, tying up all of these city emergency organizations(first responders) when they are needed for others also. This cost the State more money. Yes he could had been contacted and I feel 100% he didn't want to, why? maybe he doesn't want to put his name and license on a death certificate? Could this mean, maybe he isn't the doctor he portrays himself to be. I know, a lot of Questions, but important questions you should ask yourself when you have a love one that has passed and it's just a 5 minute procedure for the doctor. So in my conclusion of this review, it just took more time to get things done, the up side about this was, we were able to have my mother around us in her Air Condition room for a little longer time to be spent with the family as we fixed her up and dressed her like she wanted to be. No medical examiner had to come over since they really felt this was unusual for a primary physician. Why should EMS and HPD keep apologizing to us for what Miscovich was doing? So the City gave the release and the family didn't have to go through all of the red tape. Think about it now? I seen him with my mother for years, he always seems nice and we pet his dogs. We went to his understudies for years also. But when you get old and you or your loved one passes away, do you want to go through this like what we had too? It's not a hard process to get done. I feel when a man don't want to put his name on a legal paper, maybe he isn't a real man.... By the way, my mom passed away of natural causes and EMS found this as we did, but usual for her primary physician that can't be located but his office is open for business?. Maybe he was hiding(not a man). I would be ashamed to be called a doctor if I did this to any of my patients. Go to Straub or Queens if you really want to be seen and be treated by real doctors... My mother is resting now and this family will never have anyone go and see Scott J Miscovich. Notice there isn't the "Dr." before his name now, that's because I feel he isn't one. By the way, do you think he even had the B--ls to call up and apologized, think about it.... read more

If you are elderly and want to pass away at home on the weekend or just when Dr. Miscovich is not around, don't expect the staff to try to contact him so he can pronounce for you, if they manage to let him know, don't expect him to call back the EMS or anyone so you can get the yellow slip that you need to call the mortuary to pick up the body. Nope, more stress and longer process on the family because when they can't get a hold of your doctor, or they refuse (him for instance), the medical examiner will have to come down and the grieving family will have to deal with a long process that involves reports, police officer's, the whole nine yards. Before your loved one's death, good luck on them answering the phone and trying to get him to get an appointment. If you finally get a response from the office, he'll most likely will just end up giving you off to an intern to take care of you. Just don't deal with him or his office if you want a doctor that cares. There are more competent doctors, who don't go to Africa or wherever on vacation like all the time, on the windward side. read more

Front desk staff most of them are terrible! So unprofessional. They make my appt then the day of my appt they said I didn't have one. WTH ! Office sent me an email to answer question and it showed my appt time. And office still tells me "I'm sorry hon we show no appt for you"? And my appt was booked a month ago in advance.
