I normally come to this jamba juice for my orange + carrot juice. Then when the price of the juice keep increasing , i decided to get my own juice machine and do my own juice. Then after they have oatmeal breakfast I am back to be a fan. During my last visit , I found out they got this Iced fruit tea infusion . I tried there Pomegranate Tea. On a day which was forecasted to be a hot (heat advisory issued), the store manager should have anticipated crowds. At 3:00 pm the location on Bancroft was packed. The store had three employees working at the time. Two were making smoothies and one was manning the register. The person on the register was relatively new and having difficulties. - constantly having to ask assistance from one of the persons trying to make the smoothies, which of course meant that there was only one employee dedicated to make smoothies for a packed store. This not a reflection on the employees but on the store manager for poor scheduling, not calling in other employees to handle the crowds, and poor optimization of the employees on hand (i,e., putting the new employee to handle a task that he was obviously overwhelmed in performing). As if that wasn't enough, I waited in line 30 minutes to place my order only to have the cashier swipe three of my credit cards and tell me that the cards were declined. I cancelled the order and rushed home to call the financial institutions. Each card company advised me that they had no record of an attempted charge and confirmed that my cards had not been declined. Consensus: the cashier doesn't know how to swipe cards, the card reader was malfunctioning, or the store had a communication problem with the credit card processing service. The store management should look into and resolve this matter because it wasted my time and caused unnecessary worry that my accounts were blocked. read more

This was great! I was in California for a basketball tournament and after the first few games, my teammates and I wanted to refuel - and we thought Jamba Juice would be the perfect spot... and it was! Maybe I've been in New York too long (where most people are grumpy...), but all the staff behind the counter seemed so incredibly nice and were very helpful and thoughtful with their recommendations and whatnot. I ordered a strawberry banana w/ protein smoothie and it was super good and the service was pretty fast too! Of all my years of fine dining, I have never had such a miserable experience. As me and three friends entered the store, we were enticed by the smell of fresh fruits and juices. But that's where the happy part ends. We ordered our smoothies with four people at 10:45. The people in front of us got there's after 5 minutes. 20 minutes afterwards, one of the workers (who will remain anonymous) told us it would be another 15 minutes. I was not pleased to say the least. I wanted to jump over the counter and make it myself. So if you want to waste half an hour of your life waiting for your smoothie, please go to Jamba Juice on Bancroft. read more

I usually come to this location before I start work at 7:30a. I've never had a problem here until one morning I called to preorder my usual orange and carrot juice, so that by the time I get there it would be ready and all I'd have to do is pay. Everything went well as planned until I tasted my drink as I stepped out and it tasted EXACTLY like GINGER. As if they had just boiled some ginger, kept it frozen and put some in my drink. How weird is that? And to top it all off, I was an employee of Jamba for a little over two years and have been ordering this drink for more than two years. So I'm pretty sure I know how my drink should taste like by now. Thanks, but no thanks. Ruined my chances of coming to this particular location ever again. I ordered two bowls. It took ten minutes. There was a couple of people ahead of me but they had already ordered. After I was the only person in there it still took an additional five minutes at least. The bowls were sitting there melting while 1 out of the five people working tried to track down a banana. At least the lady thanked me for my patience. Also-wearing sunglasses is not a good way to take someone's order. Hopefully they can speed up their orders in the future. 10/7/12 10 am: Went there expecting it to be like any other Jamba Juice that I've been to- a pleasant, quick experience. When I walked in, it was completely empty customer-wise, which was unusual, but I walked up to the cash register. No one was there, but then a vibrant woman came out beeming, saying "Welcome to Jamba Juice! Can I help you?". Since I just woke up, this was such a nice, positive greeting and I said "Thanks! You guys are so happy! It must be the good stuff in your drinks." She laughed and sarcastically said "Not really- -We try." From that point it deteriorated. Continuing their happiness, I thought they were saying "Hip, Hip-" and the others replying "Hooray". I thought it was a little odd (Later I figured this was: Tip Tip Hooray) that they would continue saying that throughout. The lady asked me what I wanted, and I said the Turkey egg scramble. She said "We're out." I asked "So you don't have any?" She said "No." Luckily the guy co-worker beside her filled in that they have other flavors like spinach and chorizo. I ordered the chorizo. After they put it in, the lady told me the price and I pulled out my debit card, upon which she said, "No tip- boooooo" and they started talked about the "Tip- Tip Hooray" and about customers who tip and the ones that don't. I was horrified. It was so unprofessional and it seemed like a whole bunch of kids playing around since their manager 'out'. To accost their customer's for tips from the point the customer walked in, to the point they walked out, and talk about their experience with customers tipping right in front of me was shocking. The only one of the coworkers I could see caring about the customer was the guy who made my scramble, offered me the other choices, and told me to have a great day. I always enjoy a cold Jamba Juice after a workout or on a warm day. The owner of this franchise location needs to increase staff on potentially busy days. Yesterday, the staff members were doing a wonderful job handling a seemingly endless line with only 3 workers (cashier, blender prep person/dishwasher, and server). But then today my favorite smoothie, the yogurt strawberry banana one (strawberry sunrise i think it's called) was the best strawberry sunrise I ever had. Ok so I have been loyal to this jamba 10 years but lately I dread going to this location. Some of the staff is great. The rest, well we won't go there to keep this short so we will just say horrible rude, unprofessional and incapable of making drinks right. About 60% of the time, I get drinks that taste awful. Mind you, I have been getting the same few drinks for ten years so I know how they SHOULD taste. Lately I have even been getting foreign fruits in my smoothies. Like getting mango in a drink that doesn't come with mango. When I say that I get mango I mean the mango overpowers the extra strawberries that I asked for. I always return to this Jamba Juice in the Countrywood Shopping Center in Walnut Creek, because Austin makes the perfect smoothie for me every single time I order here. I have never once received a drink made by him that wasn't fantastic. He always brightens my day with his attitude and uplifting spirits.
