This place is adorable. The scenery is lovely to look at. I enjoyed sitting on the patio. It was very picturesque. But the food. It was not fresh at all. When we walked in on a busy Sunday, the chef was just looking around and taking a break. It appeared that most of the food was made ahead of our order and was brought out quickly, almost too quickly. I hadn't read reviews before dining (looking for a quick stop after camping & before arches) and when I saw the limited menu I was a little doubtful. However. Having a small menu of great items is way better than having a large menu of mediocre items. We arrived here for breakfast in downtown Moab around 11 o'clock. We were seated really quickly in the outside patio area. The server took really good care of us the entire time. I ordered the chorizo burrito, it came with a side of green chilies and homemade potato fries. My friend ordered the scramble and it was also very good. Very large portions and great value. We enjoyed this experience and we would for sure be back to trying something else on the menu. read more

We intentionally saved this place for last on our trip because they boast having the best eggs benedict in town. So we've been having eggs Benedict everywhere else. Finally we are here...we were told the wait would be 20 ministers because they were packed, to our surprise they found us a table within 5. The service is fast and friendly, the coffee is hot and the whole place smells awesome, did I mention the prices for what you get are fair? And the EGGS BENEDICT oh man they really might just be the best in town, at least by our standards. Man, we believed the hype!! Great reviews, cute aesthetic... but the food was soooo disappointing. Our waitress took GREAT care of us but the food... the egg wasn't runny on our eggs Benedict and the ham was tough, too. Good potatoes, good hollandiase sauce, but not a classic eggs Benny without the runny egg yolk. The Swedish pancakes are worth about $6... I could have gotten the equivalent pancake at a fast food diner. And they were $15. The lingonberries were a nice touch. The maple syrup wasn't real. And $5 for orange juice that isn't freshly squeezed. I hate to write this because I love supporting local businesses but unfortunately we will not be coming through again. In Moab for a couple of days and happy to see so many restaurant options within walking distance of my hotel! Great thing about the area is there a very few chain restaurants. When I'm in a new area, you wouldn't catch me in one anyway! Came across this place as I was out looking for a breakfast spot, and the vibe was exactly what I was looking for! No exaggeration, this was the BEST bacon I have ever had! It's called "Our Famous Soul Food Bacon" on the menu. THICK, Smokey and cooked to perfection, this pork blew me away!! Got here at around 9:15 and waited about 15 minutes to be sat. They will yell your name from the hostess stand, so make sure you don't stray too far while waiting or they might call your name and you'll miss it! This is a quaint but busy little spot. We all started with coffees. We ordered the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries, the eggs benedict Mexican, the jailhouse chorizo scramble, and the el greco omelette. Perhaps we should've looked up other pictures of Swedish pancakes, but I didn't expect them to just be 3 thin pancakes with a dish of berries on the side which you are meant to put in the pancake and roll it up. I would probably not order these again. The rest of the food was very good, though. I especially enjoyed the freshness of the el greco omelette. When my son requested we go to Denny's this morning I stared at him in horror and almost disowned the lad given how far he has come in his culinary knowledge. Thus after trusting my fellow "elite" badgers on Yelp we paid a visit to this enchanting brunch spot. The name speaks to its history as a former jailhouse and it looks as though they expanding at some point for the overflow as the dining areas are somewhat disjointed but the crowd was bustling and so I knew we were in for some good grub. I was assured by our hostess, who seems like the matriarch of this establishment, that their locally roasted coffee is the best!! Though it's a smoother blend than I typically enjoy regularly, it was quite good and they even poured me a road runner at no extra charge! Featured in the pics are the eggs and chorizo which is a hearty scramble with the chorizo, corn tortilla strips, potatoes and peppers mixed throughout like a hash of sorts accompanied with sour cream, salsa and jalapeños. Of course I also had to sample the ginger pancake and thick cut bacon, all of which were on point! Wife had the chorizo Benedict which also was well well enjoyed. If I had to nitpick I would say that the dining area we were seated in went from somewhat chilly (they had a space heater) to way hot as the sun began to bare down on us through the windows, making it a bit uncomfortable. In any case though, I would certainly go back in future travels for my breakfast fix. Oh and I didn't go for the 21.99 T shirt that shows you've been there..... that's a bit much for advertising a restaurant on a Hanes T shirt, wouldn't ya say?? First time here and decided to make it our last stop before leaving Moab. The place is very cute and had tables set up inside and outside. I saw they are only open for breakfasts and they have a limited menu. So you may want to check it out first before coming. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Jail House Scramble which had potatoes and veggies with mozzarella. The food came quickly and looked amazing! Sorry I didn't take photos. His came with a side of breakfast potatoes and mine came with toast made from yummy bread! We both loved our meals. I noticed a waiter that was doing such a good job in our area. It was like he could read your mind and asked you if you needed something specific before you asked. When he came back to check on us, I made sure to compliment him. He may have gotten flustered and later accidentally gave our bill to the other couple next to us. We came here in between hikes around Moab and mmmm it was so good. We had a ginger pancake and a Swedish pancake for the table and both delicious, we voted the Swedish pancake to be slightly better. I also had a scramble which was huge, and I had leftovers that I ate a few days later that were still very good. The bacon is worth the hype and price! We loved our breakfast at jail house! It's really nothing special but a little breakfast joint with made to order food. We both ordered omelettes which were pretty big! I got a side of bacon instead of potatoes with mine and he got the home fries which were super good! The pancake was hot and fluffy.
