The man I spoke to was extremely rude, condescending, and kept changing his answers. Initially he told me it wouldn't be a problem because I had history bailing people out before but As soon as he heard the bail was only $500 he told me that I should just pay it to the county instead of using them because it's $185 and non refundable. I told him I didn't have the full $500 right now. He then made up other excuses such as whoever signs needs to have good credit. I asked what they consider "good credit" was and he very sarcastically asked me "well, what do YOU think good credit it". I advised him that I work in the financial services industry and the term "good credit" is relative. I explained to him that we recently lost a child so our credit took a hit, but I otherwise make good money, have stable income, I own my home, I've been employed for 26 years, etc. He told me that if I had ANY delinquent debts, I wouldn't qualify. What it sounded like is that he didn't want to waste his time on such a small surety bond because he wouldn't make much commission off of it. It's Thanksgiving Day, there's absolutely no reason to treat people that way, especially when when they have a side history with your company.

My wife found Jack who was up on the roof right away, found the spot the rats were getting in, gave us a full itemized list of recommendations (some of which we ended up doing ourselves like trimming shrubs, some of which we had him do), secured that corner of the roof with flashing and did a couple other things, and said let's see if we keep hearing rats. We did keep hearing rats, so Jack returns and finds one more place where rats were coming in and secures that location. Both places he placed a one way exit door so they could get out but not back in, and placed traps where we heard them. I was really impressed by Jack's knowledge of animals and construction, his philosophy to secure the house and get the pests out of the house because you can never get them out of the area, rather than just keeping poisoning them, He also has a great can-do attitude. I'm hoping not to have to use his services again, but if I ever have a pest problem I'll call him right away. Oh yeah, his prices were very reasonable too, less than the other quotes I got plus his was a one time deal rather than ongoing expense forever.
