Great hip atmosphere. Great for date night, but also very accommodating for our 22 month old. Rice was ordered and promptly brought out for our daughter. My husband ordered the Szechuan chicken. He wasn't a fan - said the sauce was too thick. I, however, loved my pad thai (among the best I've had). Although our daughter's rice was promptly brought out, our food seemed to take a bit too long. Service is pretty much the same as always there.. It's not great. I ordered general tso This time and I was not impressed impressed. The chicken was actually very tender and solid meat however I just didn't like the flavor as it was not your typical recipe. I have had garlic sauce at this place and I think it is very good it's very good. I always order the ribs but this visit they were very very very fatty - but they do have very good flavor. I came here for a big group dinner on a Tuesday night. I had made the reservation the day of and had no trouble getting a table. There is a parking lot for the restaurant. I will say service here was awesome. Even though it was a big party, the waiter was very attentive and even split the check for us. The food was also great. I had the shrimp with walnuts. The shrimp was cooked perfectly as it was crispy and flavorful, and the walnuts were a great touch. This plate is on the sweeter side, but it wasn't too sweet. I couldn't get enough, and the serving was huge. My friend got the drunken noodles, which were also very good. Sushi was also a very popular choice with my friends, and everyone seemed happy with their order. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food and drinks, and we had a good time. The inside of the restaurant has a great vibe to it. It's not too formal or too casual, and there's a giant bar in the middle of the restaurant. I will say that we looked at the menu and thought there was a hibachi grill, but the hibachi they have is a personal-sized skillet that is brought out to you with the food sizzling on it. Read an article in the gazette about this place and thought we would give it a try. Haven't been here since the early 80's. The decor inside is very nice. They did a great job with the remodel. The food was also very good. We got general so chicken and two different sushi rolls. Everything was delicious and all the wait staff was so friendly. We plan to go back very soon. Best Asian Fusion restaurant in the Capital District. Was the finest Chinese and the next generation has brought Japanese and Thai into the mix. Many restaurants attempt this but few do it so successfully. Excellent Thai curries that are not all brown. Billy is a great bartender try his Mango Mojitos. Fantastic soft shell crab rolls. Adjacent parking and the youngest maitre d' in the area. A true jewel in Downtown Scotia across from the movie theater. Reservations a must on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

First time here since the re-launching. They did a beautiful job with the remodeling and its a really beautiful spot. Regarding the food, some highs and lows. Someone has decided that the soup shouldn't be accompanied by crunchy noodles. Apparently they're not fancy enough for the new spot. Sad! Also, the Crab Rangoons are beautifully presented but they are too much wrapper to be enjoyed. I got the Crunch Shrimp Jalapeño Roll topped with a spicy crab salad. Sounds spicy right? Not so much. If it wasn't for the wasabi, it would have been bland. On the other end of the spectrum, my sister had the Roast Pork Loin Mein and she said it was the best she's ever had. Planned ahead and called for a table of 10 on a Saturday night. Also asked to bring in a cake which they said no problem! Seated immediately. Beautiful table with linen. Loved the feel and decor. Our waitress was so friendly. Took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions about the menu. We placed our order. Service was right on point. I had a special request for a healthy spin on Tofu and Chinese eggplant with snow peas. Not a problem she said. It was fabulous! I loved the hot and sour soup. I loved the hard noodles with hot mustard. My daughter ordered the pineapple rice! I gotta get that next time. My husband had the wasabi cracker. Absolutely delicious! A must get ! The Lo-mein was possibly the best I ever had! Everything fresh. Plated so perfectly . Couldn't ask for a nicer waitress. She served the cake as well. Overall everyone was delighted with Jade Bistro! The food is always pretty decent but the take out service is very poor. The following has happened twice.....my wife calls in a dinner order for our family of four. I drive 15 minutes one way to pick up the food. They hand me a large bag with a receipt that has check marks next to each item we ordered so I assume it's all there. I pay and tip and then go home only to discover that some of our food was not handed to me. I drive back to pick it up......they seem unconcerned and don't comp anything. I should have demanded the tip be returned! They are loosing us as a customer. read more

This has become my families go-to spot for a sure fire delicious meal, and a great night out. The sushi is perfect every time, and if you've ever had their duck, you'll always want to keep getting their duck. It's in my top 5 foods of all time. Amazing and lite fried rice, and everything from their side salads to their desserts is a 5 star experience. It's the type of restaurant where you feel a little spoiled. We've gone at least 5 times now, and I've tried about half their sushi rolls. The only other Sushi I've liked better was when I lived in Seattle, WA. You'll become a regular in no time. read more

Wife and I went to Jade Bistro last Thursday and had a wonderful meal. I got the Ganma Beef chef special while my wife ordered the Thai Curry Beef. My Ganma Beef dish was well balanced with large chunks of fresh vegetables and slices of tender flavorful beef. It was served in a hot pot over a stereo flame that added some char to the ingredients. Menu says to expect a spicy hot dish but it could have used some more heat for my taste. Wife's Thai Curry Beef was similarly chunky, flavorful and cooked to perfection. We both had leftovers to take home. We would have given 5 stars but for the stark and uninviting rear dining room which is reminded me of an institutional dining hall. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I'm sure the ratings will improve once the main dining room and bar are reopened. It can't happen too soon! read more

I saw this on Yelp and wanted to try this restaurant out. My family visited this location and the food is so good. The dragon roll and Sake bomb was absolutely amazing. I had a Japanese Ice tea and fell in love with it. My girls had the General Tso chicken and Orange Chicken with Fried rice. Don't come here if you have a service dog. They will treat you so badly and make you feel so unwelcomed. I was sat completely separate from everyone in a completely different room and the server took forever to come to us. I ended up leaving before ordering because I was left so unwelcomed. If you're going for sushi, Japanese or a drink then yes this may be the place for you. We went after viewing the Thai and vegetarian options on their menu online. The Pad Thai was not Pad Thai. It was simply noodles with soy sauce. Nothing close to Thai. We also got Buddha's feast. The quality was similar to what you could find at a cheap Chinese Buffet. The decor inside was poorly pulled together. They had some good ideas but they put too many of them in the same space. They literally have clear christmas balls hanging from wood planked ceiling. The acoustics were terrible. All hard surface and the sound just bounced all over. We could hardly hear ourselves over the people next to us. I gave them two stars for service and cleanliness. Amazing! Best Thai food I've ever had! The food was all homemade and also fresh, and much of it was all local! Very good quality and also delicious for a good price. I had the miso soup, shrimp dumplings, and avocado rolls. They were all amazing and tasted extremely fresh, and the dumplings were made that day (not frozen!) as well as something I've never tried before. My mother had the wonton soup, spring roll, and pad thai. She said that all her food was the best thai food she'd ever had, and I tasted the pad thai and must agree. The noodles were homemade fresh! Also, the waiter was amazing - extremely friendly, helpful, and also quite funny. He not only answered our questions about the menu, but also about the town and places we were visiting. Excellent food and excellent atmosphere! A great place to go when you are in the Scotia area. I highly recommend the shredded pork with garlic sauce... The pork could be a little bit more tender but has a great taste. Bill, the new owner is new to the Restruant business so please give him some slack. He does a great job and I wish him great success. Some of the staff are straight from China and can be a little hard to communicate with but, I promise, it's worth the patience and definitely worthy of your business. I have been a customer of the old place "dragon garden" since I was knee high to a grasshopper and will continue to go to the new "jade bistro" as long as they are in business.
