I was quoted a price and when it came to to preform the job the price changed. Very disappointing.

I had Jade Air replace an AC that blew in the summer of 2015. They did a great job at that time - it took about 3 days to replace the unit and they actually hand carried my unit to the roof because they couldn't get a crane booked. It was really a 5 star experience. The reason this is a 3 star review is that I've had some trouble getting them to come out for a routine service of the unit the last 2 years. In 2018, I emailed Chris with no response. I called and scheduled an appointment and no one ever showed up. I called to see what happened and they clearly forgot about it. It got rescheduled and completed but person that came out left my bathroom a mess. This year, I've called 3 times (once a month basically) and keep getting told that they are too busy and I need to try again later. read more

I'm so thankful for the 24/7 services Jade Air provides. Late on a extremely hot June evening and my AC stopped working. I talked to Gilbert and he said he would be at my place in an hour. I wish there were more stars to give. We were heading into a very cold weekend with no heat thanks to our friends at Atmos who weren't able to relight our heating unit after they turned off the gas to do some gas line repairs on the street. After Atmos finally told me "sorry it's your problem" I called Jade. It was late afternoon on Friday and we were sure we'd be spending the weekend freezing. Nope. Gilbert first offered to come by the house late to see what he could do, but also offered to walk me through a simple process over the phone he thought might fix our problem. He was right, the heater began to work, and it was all because he voluntarily helped us when we needed it. I simply do not remember the last time a service provider was this helpful. My AC line outside was frozen over. I called 2 other businesses first (Rescue Air and Dragan). Both companies came and checked out my unit and said my HVAC needed to be replaced for costs ranging between $7000-16,000. Thank goodness I picked Jade Air for my third, and final estimate. Aric (the owner's nephew) came out and immediately said that the problem was that the connectors needed to be replaced. For under $500, my connectors were replaced, my unit (inside and out) were thoroughly cleaned and serviced, and the Freon was topped off. In addition, Gilbert, the owner, said if I had problems in the near future, and needed to replace my unit, the money I'd spent would be applied to my new purchase. Win-win. To top that off, I was having what I thought was an electrical problem since the last rainstorm. One circuit wasn't working and flipping my breakers hadn't fixed the issue. I mentioned it to Aric and he checked the breaker box (testing all of the switches) and spent time looking around my house to try to determine the cause. Turns out one of the GFCI switches was off. Aric saved me the cost (and time!) of having an electrician come out and find this simple solution. I was his last call at the end of the day, so the fact that he was determined to help me was extraordinary. This is a family-owner business and they are extremely personable and trustworthy. I can't say enough good things about Gilbert with Jade Air! Gilbert informed me that he was a bit outside Jade's service area on a Sunday but offered to help me get my AC unit back up and running over the phone. I sent him a couple of photos, unhooked a few wires, reconnected a few and BAM, my unit fired right up! Gilbert made no compensation for his work, but he was kind enough to refer me to another local company who came out and blew out my drain line for a small fee! After being out of town, I returned home a heating system that wouldn't power on. I called multiple companies before finding Jade Air, and boy am I glad that I found them! They came out and quickly diagnosed the bad motherboard. They showed my the pricing and let me make the call on how to proceed. They came back first thing the next morning and replaced it and got me warm again. I'm no heating/ac pro, and they were very nice about letting me ask questions - it was like a free lesson, step by step. About a week later, the unit went out again. They rushed back over (during the Icepocalypse of 2013), and found that the main breaker hd gone out. With zero fuss, they replaced it for me with no charge. This is above and beyond, and they didn't have to do this. Their prices seemed reasonable, but that is not what hooked me on these guys. It's simple customer service. Professional and prompt service. These guys are great, they always do a wonderful job with my HVAC systems. I've had problems with other companies referred to me by my home warranty, shell out the cash, and things break down again a month later. I used Jade Air once last year for an a/c repair and was happy with their service at the time which is where the one star comes in. However, I have now twice since been stood up from them when I made an appointment. They were a no show for replacing a bathroom fan late last year and yesterday for an a/c appointment. I had given them the benefit of doubt but obviously I should have stuck with my initial feeling. I am done with them so good luck if you have an appointment with them. read more

So, full disclosure, I haven't actually used Jade Air. However, I called to schedule an appointment and they basically walked me through several steps to troubleshoot my problem and self-fix so to speak. I am currently taking Chris' recommendations and praying it works. What I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE is that he could have come out and charged me a fee but he was willing to help me over the phone and lose a service call. THAT tells you about the integrity of this company. I found them on yelp and I just had to submit a review. And if I ever end up having an issue (now or in the future) I will most definitely use their company. Recently, had an evaporator coil hit the end of its lifespan. It was after 5 pm and I could not get anyone to come to do an assessment. I scored a gas company rebate deal for a new gas water heater (to replace my failing 14 year old "good and faithful servant"), but still needed installation. Jade has been aces with our air and heating so I called to see if they did water heaters. Chris answered and told me, "Yes, sir, we do." Chris had me text him the make and model number (for the connections and dimensions) and where to pick it up. Chris called when his installers were on their way to the store, and they called when they'd gotten the water heater. 90 minutes later, out (and off!) with the old and on with the new. Gilbert answered the phone. He asked questions which were not relevant to the repair. He then sounded irritated even though I told him I just wanted a simple repair. Then, he hung up saying he had another call and never called back. Originally, my appt was for 1 pm. No one showed up. Jade Air is NOT cheap by any means. $99 service call to start. They charge the highest prices compared to several companies I contacted. Make sure you shop around and ask SPECIFIC questions on what ALL the charges are. I called another company, Kleen Air of Plano, and they sent someone out the next day. The Yelp special is the $19.95 svc call. All my system needed was 2 lbs. of refrigerant, $107 total. read more

I called Jade Air after our air stopped blowing cold and got a prompt response from Chris. He was very, very patient and kind. We needed a second opinion after our condo complex's maintenance man quoted us an extremely high price for a repair. Jade Air moved heaven and earth to accommodate us on a Sunday. At one point Chris even called while he was out with his family to reassure me that our air would be fixed. After determining that our entire air condensing unit needed to be replaced, Jade Air handled all the leg work promptly arranged for a brand new replacement unit to be installed. Their employees were swift, professional, and accommodating. To top it off, their prices were extremely reasonable for all the work they performed. Jade Air kept in constant communication so at no point did I feel left in the dark. Our air is now ice-cold in the middle of a Texas summer. We called this company when our AC unit upstairs stopped working. They came to inspect our unit shortly after scheduling, and we were up and running immediately. We knew for a couple of years that our AC unit was hanging on to a thread & would need replacement soon due to old age. Even though this was the first time we called Jade Air, they were able to confirm what other AC companies had told us already... our entire AC unit would give out soon. Jade Air was very kind to offer a temporary solution in lieu of replacing the entire unit. It's been 3 weeks already and our AC is working better than it's ever worked in 8yrs. We've been using Jade Air for a while now ever since our last unit started dying. The most recent incident involved me replacing a thermostat and in the process blowing a fuse on the controller board. I gave them a call and they walked me through the repair.
