I am updating this review to address the owner's response. My original review stated facts directly…read morefrom the invoice, which remains attached for anyone to read. 1. The "Air Box Repair" & Filter Charge: The owner claims the $101 was to "repair damage to the air box." As line item #5 on my receipt clearly shows, I was charged $25.91 for the filter, $26.00 for two metal clips, and $49.50 in labor strictly described as "Remove & Replace Engine Air Filter Element." Snapping on two clips during a routine filter change does not justify $101 total, nor does the receipt list any actual repair labor for the box itself. 2. Inaccurate Claims About My Review: Brake Inspection: The owner accused me of "fraud" regarding an $80 inspection charge. I explicitly acknowledged that "While they didn't charge for the brake inspection itself, the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth." I acknowledge the $0 charge on that specific line item. Caliper vs. Total Brake Cost: The owner claimed I said calipers were $900. I never said that. I stated the total brake repairs came out to over $900--which is accurate, as the front disc brakes ($842.24) and rear drum service ($132.00) totaled $974.24. My review explicitly stated the calipers themselves were "almost $250" ($124.14 x 2 = $248.28), which is accurate to the penny. 3. Unclear Communication on Calipers: Replacing calipers isn't routine maintenance for standard brake wear; it's a major component replacement. Check with any reputable shop and they will agree. Replacing them without clearly explaining why the original calipers had failed--rather than just servicing pads and rotors--lacks basic transparency. Bottom Line: Instead of addressing legitimate concerns over high labor rates ($274 to change a single serpentine belt, $49.50 labor for an air filter element), the owner chose to misquote my original review and throw around baseless accusations. Please ask yourself if being accused of fraud is what you want as a customer before you do business with anyone. Buyer Beware: Take my situation as an example of the response you can expect from this shop if you express honest dissatisfaction. I stand by my experience and my invoice. Please review the attached image of the bill and decide for yourself.

Wow. What a mistake to bring my car here for repair…read more Warning lights came on suddenly in my 2016 Subaru Outback at 144,900 miles; the brake and the "eyesight" warning light. After doing some research I found the Auto Team. They took the car for the day for "diagnostics". They called and informed me that i needed an oil change and a new battery. The quote was for $608.62, which did include a $160.00 charge for the "diagnosis". When asked, John told me that he was about 90% certain that the work would fix the car. I took the car to Capitol Subaru. The problem was in the braking system, and was repaired at the Subaru garage under an extended warrantee replacement. I can only imagine the hundreds of dollars I might have spent at the auto team as they hunted and pecked at different possible repair solutions. I'm not a mechanic, but even I knew that an oil change and a new battery would solve the problems. So I guess I'm reasonably grateful that the Auto Team only took $167.00 of my money, for no apparent reason other that to look the car over. A strong consideration. The Auto Team seems poised to take $160.00 from you to even look at your car and give you an opinion of a solution. And in my experience, their opinion, means squat. Shabby experience. These guys were not friendly, knowledgeable, professional, or helpful IN ANY WAY.

I was able to drive it to my sister's house but knew it needed significant body repair. The next day, upon my sister's 100% recommendation, we took my car to Traditional Auto Body & Paint in West Salem. We arrived before the shop was open but Susan came to us and said, "Come inside where it is warm, to wait for the technicians." This much-needed kindness set the tone for five weeks of incredible care and patience. Jonathan Mayorga, Robert Anderson, and all the technicians paid attention to my unique/personal situation in dealing with insurance, my health issues and even getting back home. The professional expertise given to repair my car motivates me to post a FIVE STAR review AND 100% recommendation for TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT. The initial examination of my vehicle was thorough, and details were well explained to me. I was updated frequently via phone calls and email regarding estimates and insurance coverage. The full repair of my car was completed in a timely manner, done to my 100% satisfaction, and was cleaned, inside and out, better than it has ever been. I was pleased to be given a detailed report of all the repair that was done, so that I will be able to share this with my repair shop in Bellevue, WA. I certainly do not wish the necessity of auto repair for anyone but, if the occasion does occur, I would highly recommend TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT, Salem, Oregon. My sincere thanks to all professionals there! Roberta Mock

They did not tell me that the inspection comes with any service, nor did they give me the ability to opt out beforehand on the information sheet I filled out. They told me my headlights were fine, I have had to get out of my car and push them back in to get them working leaving my job at midnight twice since I've left that shop, which is the issue I wanted fixed. They also quoted me 10k for the other damage to my car, which I was already aware of because I PAID for an inspection with another shop. Now, two weeks later, I'm getting new lights on my dash and my car is running horribly, which never happened after my Walmart oil changes (though they got my cap stuck). Everything about this place is sketchy, they WILL damage your car to get you back in the shop, do not trust this business. I will be taking my car somewhere that has some business standards.
