OVERPRICED! My husband and I share a driveway with our neighbor. We were backing out at the same time and she stopped and honked and my husband then stopped, just bumping her car, leaving 3 scratches, about an inch and a half long each on her bumper, barely visible unless one got up very close - no dent whatsoever. We told her we would pay for the repair out of pocket. She took it to Jackson's Auto Body and the cost was $1700 to repaint the bumper. This is a hugely inflated price compared to the average cost of repainting a bumper in Salem. Maybe they took advantage of her because they knew someone else was paying? It was an extremely low impact incident, one car going 5 miles an hour and the other standing still and they convinced her that among other things, they needed to go through a technical process to check the frame for distortion from the collision. Sounds like taking advantage of a woman customer who may not be as confident in dealing with a repair shop to me. You can get a much better deal in Salem by shopping around. Avoid this place and get quotes elsewhere!!! (Actually, I just double checked and the price was closer to $1800) read more

Recently I struck a deer and did about $2500 damage to the front of my truck. I took it to Jackson's on the recommendation of some friends who had work done there before. They were very easy, knowledgeable and convenient to deal with and handled their end directly with my insurance company. The result of their work was the front of my Truck looks as good if not better than when I bought it new! In addition i was extremely impressed that in addition to the repair work, they completely detailed my truck inside and out. Horrible customer service. On the phone the attendant was courteous and willing to provide an estimate. As soon as I walked in. He refused to help me. The only thing I could imagine it being is that I was Latino. I would not recommend this shop to anyone, and I will definitely let the Latino community know about this shop. read more

It took quite a while for them to get the parts (they are not to blame for supply chain issues) every time I called to check they were kind and upbeat and helpful. I took my BMW X5 to Jackson's after rubbing the passenger side front quarter panel against a rock wall. Larry got right to it. Give me a very fair quote. I left the car on the spot and it was done in two days. Not only did they fix the deep scratches, but he told me they found some other little flaws in the paint and took care of those as well. Took my car in to get it fixed, they said for $2100 they would fix it. They took the money then did a half ass job, nothing lines up, telling me maybe they could do better for another $1100 but no guarantees. Instead of making an effort to do the right thing they would rather go to court to be sued. Don't take your car here, they do not stand behind the work they do at all. TERRIBLE place! Do not use this company to get your car repaired! We used these guys for a very simple repair in 2016 and it was fine. This time it was AWFUL! They cannot handle anything more than a scratch! After being rear ended AGAIN in September 2018 we chose Jackson's to get our car repaired, thinking they would be another good experience, well it was NOT! Completely rude and clueless. Deadlines came and went almost 10 times over the 50 days they had our SUV. Somehow when the vehicle was ready to be returned to us, magically someone scratched up the brand new bumper while in their possession delaying it another week. How does that even happen? Just when it couldn't get anymore frustrating, it was on empty at pickup and they refused to replace the half a tank it was brought in with. The guys were rude and disrespectful towards us which just made an already awful experience even worse! We specifically chose Jackson's to support a family business and boy do we seriously regret it! This is the 4th time I have had my vehicles fixed here not to mention my parents and sister all get their cars worked on at Jacksons Auto Body. I would choose Jacksons anyday over any other place. I currently live in Portland and still choose to drive back and forth to Salem to use their services. Larry and every person employed there are very respectful, trust worthy, warm, welcoming, personable, professional and quick. I have a brand new 2015 car that unfortunately has needed to be worked on twice already. Each time they worked on my car it has looked brand new again (even better then when I drove it off the lot). The inside of my car was polished and dusted and looked 5 times better than when I dropped it off. They guarantee their work, and even take the time to fix small "problems" if you stop in randomly.
