    Pastrami and cheese 12 inch

I'd define this as a gem of a hole in the wall. First off the place is kind of dirty and it kinda looks like a house. When it comes to the food though the quality is top notch. French Fries - crispy golden brown, perfectly seasoned (9/10) Hoagie Steak and Cheese Hot Sub - this is an absolute must get. The meat was a tad sweet and tangy but also had this good balance of salt. With the vegetables and cheese really makes this a complete sandwich. (10/10) Chicken Teriyaki Bowl - this is a standard bowl but honestly it was pretty tasty. Seemed like fresh chicken breast smothered in sauce. Basic but quality ingredients. (8/10) I live around the area and this is going to be my new goto sandwich place, it's that good. Small parking lot, hole in the wall dining area, delicious food. Come check it out!!

    Onion rings!

Got fried onion rings and a pastrami sandwich to share with a friend, the total came out to be $15 and was the perfect amount for 2 peoplr. The pastrami sandwich was a bit too salty for me but otherwise delicious. I love how thick the pastrami cuts are. The onion rings were super crispy and hot. Undersalted but balanced out the saltiness of the pastrami. For a Saturday lunch it was pretty empty so despite the small parking lot there was plenty of parking available. The decor inside seems dated and could use an upgrade. Staff is friendly and patient.

Hidden gem in El Monte. Don't let the outside fool you. Family owned sandwich shop that keeps its prices low. Don't go to Jersey mikes when you can come here. Better bread and more protein. Order your sandwiches to go for your next dodger game or sporting event

Good food. I ordered a cold sandwich which was delicious. Also a chicken teriyaki bowl. I really enjoyed them. They have very reasonable prices. I definitely go back to try different sandwiches.

Chicken teriyaki sandwich. Pretty solid choice

The sandwich equivalent of a dive bar. Small, pretty dated, but full of good stuff inside. Still the freshness and flavors of their sandwiches might surprise you. There's nothing artisan here. Gordon Ramsey doesn't work here part time. Instead, you'll get the kind of fresh quality sandwich you might get from mom's kitchen. Chicken teriyaki has big chunks of white meat chicken nestled atop cheese, shredded lettuce, onions, pickles and tomatoes. It's a good size and a fantastic value at about $7.99 for a foot long. I'd definitely stop by again. You should too

Jack's Sub was one of those places that I always passed by but never tried during the decades when I lived in El Monte. Wow, have I been missing out!! If you can only order one thing from here, the hoagie steak and cheese hot sub is the way to go. The marinated beef is soo good and reminds me of Korean BBQ short rib meat. The large order at $9.39 is such a deal! If the hoagie steak and cheese is off the menu, the teriyaki chicken hot sub ($7.99 for a large) is a good runner-up. The pieces of chicken are juicy and lean. The teriyaki sauce is delicious. But if the hoagie is there, sorry teriyaki chicken, I'd have to go with the hoagie instead, but you're not a bad second choice. BF and I have ordered a large side of fries ($3.59) to pair with the sandwich every time we've come. They fry it fresh after we order and it has the right combination of size, texture, and taste. We end up finishing the fries first before we even get to the sandwiches! They do close on Sundays, so make sure to get your hoagie sub fix on the other days of the week!

Greasy hole in the wall with reasonable prices and good food. Appearance and ambiance is not this venue. Take out is the norm.

So special that it will have you coming back the next day for more. Am I speaking from experience... absolutely! Do I have any regrets about coming to grab sandwiches two days in a row... never! I ordered a tuna sandwich with the Italian pasta and it was one of the best I've ever had. The tuna is simple and made to order. Topped with avocado, sprouts, and tomato sprinkled with pepper! Pure deliciousness! Now let's talk about the Italian pasta... amazing! I'll take a whole tray! Couldn't get enough. The flavor is spot on and super light. The next day I tried the egg salad sandwich with potato salad and again one of the best I've had. Made to order egg salad is always the best. The flavor was great paired with bacon and a croissant. Truly took this sandwich to another level. Simple yet packed with deliciousness. The potato salad I hear is a family recipe and it's truly made with love. It's light, fluffy, and flavorful. All the qualities that make potato salad delicious. Lastly, I had the Montero. If you want a hearty sandwich this is your jam. It's really really really good. I've never had anything like this, but I'm glad I did. It's one of those sandwiches you didn't know you needed in your life. The carnitas are so good paired with the caramelized onions... yum! Definitely a sandwich worth trying and telling all your friends about. Overall, this sandwich spot is truly an excellent experience. They have perfected the art of sandwich making and I can't wait to come back to try the rest of the sandwiches! Thank you again for the wonderful service and the delicious sandwiches. I definitely will be back!

They have multiple locations all across the SGV which is a good sign that they are a local favorite. The store was clean and the staff, friendly. They sell a ton of other grab and go Vietnamese goods by the counter which seem to sell well and quite fast, so if you're looking for that, come early. Bahn Mi My Tho is my top pick for Thit Heo Nuong or Grilled Pork Bahn Mi. The pork was perfectly seasoned with a delicious lemongrass flavor, was slightly sweet and very tender. The addition of peanuts and green onions adds additional complexity while the fresh and pickled veggies offer the perfect balance. I very much enjoyed this sandwich and is one I would definitely get again!

Now I am curious on all the words after "Banh Mi". Btw, "Banh Mi" means sandwich in Vietnamese. Parking lot is quite tiny with maybe 15 spots, but we got lucky and snatched one spot upon arrival. Street parking may be available though. It's a small sandwich shop with a few tables/chairs outside and limited table and bar stool seating inside. What I find oddly interesting are the dried up plants at one corner of the wall. Not sure if they just wanted to put something there to take up space... at least have lively plants. They were super busy. Gentleman staff was okay. Menu is limited to sandwiches and cold/hot drinks. They also sell snacks and other dry goods on the side. I got 2 banh mi - 1 dac biet special and 1 grilled pork plus 1 Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. Wait time was a tad longer than expected. Strangely enough, a couple customers who ordered after me got their orders before me. I had to walk up to the counter to inquiry about my order. The gentleman immediately handed my order to me without calling my number. My order was just sitting on the counter. Hmmm? Hence, 4 stars. Coffee was quite strong, but good...very authentic stuff! Banh mi were out of this world delicious! They took it to a whole different level. It was the lemongrass flavor that made it golden. Bread was light and crispy. Tons of meat with fresh veggies. SO FLAVORFULLY GOOD! Yes, I'll be back. May I receive better timely service next time. If you haven't tried Banh Mi My Tho, the time is now. Go get them elevated banh mi!
