This place is exactly what you think it is. One of those classic SoCal burger joints--same family as Tom's, Tam's, Troy's, Rick's... you know the type. No surprises. Called in my order and it was ready when I got there, which I appreciate. I ordered a big cheeseburger for my daughter. I didn't get a bite, but she basically inhaled the whole thing, so I'm gonna assume it did its job. I ordered a breakfast burrito with no potatoes, which in hindsight was 100% my fault. What I picked up was basically a flour tortilla taco with a couple dried pieces of bacon and a little cheddar rattling around inside. Not great. Pretty sure this burrito only makes sense with hash browns or potatoes holding it together. Lesson learned. Prices were fair, staff was genuinely nice, and luckily the burrito was under $10--so no real damage done. Was I disappointed? Yeah. Was I shocked? Not at all. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but if I needed a burger, was nearby, and everything else was closed, I'd have no problem stopping in. Hands down the best club sandwich in town! Perfectly toasted bread with thick strips of crispy bacon and thick deli meats. Crisp lettuce and delicious tasting tomatoes. The fries are nice and crispy. Huge portions. Enough for leftovers the next day and the best part is no soggy bread, lettuce was still green and the tomato was still firm. The food is okay? Depends what you get. If you get a Hamburger they are really good! Chicken dinner just ok the chicken was very dry. So really it's a hit or miss for this place. The lady who took our order is nice and patient. The guy who's working on the grill is making some delicious food. We got the cheeseburger and it's a pretty solid meal. It has enough sauce to not be dry but not dripping down juice. It's huge so it will fill you up. It also has good amount of leaf & pickles, although it can make the burger slide when you bite, so hold it with both hands! Their fries are great! Thick cut fries, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and just the right amount of salt. Good with or without ketchup. Tip: get the large fries, it's good for snacking or sharing (probably 4 serving worth as a side). Outside looks like a pretty old burger joint but inside actually looks decent. And clean. It's pretty small and they have booths right behind one another like in the ol' days. I think a lot highschoolers come and hang out here. Glad they're keeping the business alive! read more

was in the mood for a burger NOT from a fast food place so wound up here near work. placed my order of a dbl cheeseburger combo with a bean and cheese burrito. got a wave from one of the cooks, nice enough staff. food came out fairly quickly. Waited no more than 10min. Burger was tasty and a pretty good size. loved the fries and even though the beans in the bean and cheese burrito were a little over cooked, it was a huge burrito. saved half for the next day. the total bill was under $20. the food portions were good. and the price, not bad for what you get. i'd definitely go back. read more

Went to nicks again today. Ordered nicks special and large chili cheese fries. Was charged $21+change. When waiting for the order, realized nicks special is no more than $9 and the large chili fries no more than $6. Questioned the cashier. She claimed thought the bill indicated small fries too, even though only 2 items were written down. BTW fries come with the special. Anyhow she returned $3.10. Last time I was charged $24+ which seemed a lot for 2 since their prices are real reasonable, but didn't think to calculate which now I'm thinking twice about. This place used to be a favorite of mine and my family since 1998! It was our go to spot every week! BUT the last two visits have been huge FAIL and GROSS!! A few months ago, I ordered a chicken sandwich and it had a hair. I notified them, and they remade it. Took it as "things happen and moved on". I decided to give them another chance and regret it! As I was ordering, the cook dropped the spatula he uses for turning the meat on the grill into the trash can and didn't bother to wash it, instead he took it out, just wiped it on a rag and continued to use it. I brought this up to the cashier and owner who was there and the cook didn't deny the incident, yet no one bothered to wash the spatula! Such a shame to say that a childhood restaurant that was so dear to me since 1998 has gone downhill so poorly!! I will no longer be a loyal customer after these two unsanitary experiences. read more

I Like to try different burger spots especially mom and pop shops. We found this burger shop which I have been passing by for years finally decided to check it out. The parking is small but convenient. They have inside seating if you would like to eat in. The lady taking my order was nice and friendly and took my small order accurately. The food was ready within 15 minutes. Burgers where great they have a good and sweet taste, the fries were nice and crispy and they serve good portions. Came here to try their breakfast burrito since it's near my work . The breakfast burrito is very basic which can be nice sometimes. You pick your meat and comes with egg, cheese , hash browns and you can ask for chili. It's not super huge and it's not super small . The burrito size is the perfect middle . Hola! I've been coming to Nicks for over 15 years! This used to be my go to spot right after school when I was in HS. Then I joined the Military, got a few T-shirts ;), had a family, moved all around the US, and I still find myself coming back home and my must have stops is always Nicks. The great burgers and onion rings are totally worth it! Nothing tastes like Cali as much as Nicks. Don't get me wrong, In-N-Out is great, n so is The Hat, but Nicks feels like home. Wow. Was looking for a good charbroiled burger nearby and finally found the spot. I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and zucchini to-go. It took about 7 minutes to get home and the food was perfect. Just the right balance of lettuce, onions, and tomato to meat, cheese, and bun. The pickle added a little crispness and sweetness. The fries were crisp and seasoned just enough. I hate salty fries. The zucchini wasn't over cooked like some places do. It was light golden brown, juicy, and paired just right with the fridge cold ranch that they provide. I couldn't finish everything as it's a large portion. This is a restaurant I always look forward to eating. I am writing this review after I have been a reoccurring customer here for the past 5 or more years. I have had a bit of everything and everything is definitely very well made. I've always loved getting Chili Cheese Fries or their Chicken Dinner as they're extremely delicious for their price. The customer service there cannot get any better as they're perfect as is. The food can take a little while, 10-15 minutes to get delivered onto your table, but it is definitely worth it. Although, there is one thing I have to say, the cheeseburgers there are a bit too expensive, and the beef seems a bit too thin, when having a regular cheese burger, I can hardly taste the meat. But, that'll not take anything from this review since everything else makes up for it. Deliciously crispy chili cheese fries. I enjoyed them very much. Very kind and accommodating service. I let them know my daughter is allergic to sesame seeds and they gave me 2 bottom breads to be safe, since the top has sesame seeds.
