A very long overdue review but the food is delicious! The burger truly tastes like an in-n-out burger but a bit better since the meat seems a bit thicker. The fries kind of taste like mcdonald's fries in my opinion, but I like mcdonald's fries, so it's a plus. Service was great! They are attentive about what you order. Although, when we had gone the last time, there was a bit of a wait, about 25 minutes. There's seating outside and they also have a drive thru. Although I will say I feel like walking up to the window is faster than going through the drive thru :)

Ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon and a monster fry. Unfortunately their shake machine was down so I couldn't get a float. Also they don't have cola but instead serve Pepsi. Came on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait at the drive thru. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of a wait, as I heard stories that the wait could be extremely long. Maybe that was the case when they first reopened, but there wasn't much of a wait when I went. Not going to comment too much on service because it's what you'd expect from a typical drive thru. Pricing: Pretty reasonable and cheaper than some bigger fast food joints! Pretty surprising for a small business, so I wonder if they're eating into their margins with their pricing model. As for the food. Before I begin, I want to preface that I think calling Arts Burger an "in n out" dupe is a disservice to Arts. For me, a dupe would mean something that is cheaper. I don't think it's fair that they are constantly compared to In n out, when they are both great in different ways. They're priced similarly and honestly I think they taste quite different. Besides a similar looking menu and exterior (of which is not exclusive to In n Out), their burgers taste quite different. Double cheeseburger: good size patties, complimented well with fresh lettuce. Cheese melted well and was delicious with the banana peppers on the side. I like how the lettuce wasn't shredded either. Size was amazing, I can usually eat a 3x3 with fries but man was I full after this one. My only qualm is that I think the patties could use a bit more seasoning? It just felt like something was missing. Probably wouldn't get a bacon with it next time as well. Nothing wrong with the bacon, just not my preference. Monster fries: this was something I really really wanted to love. Wont really comment on the fries itself because I couldn't really taste the crispiness or seasoning as it was... well drenched in the toppings. Not a bad thing, but unfortunately the monster fries were not my cup of tea. It just felt like there was so much going on, from the thousand island sauce to the lettuce and the tomatoes. I know there are people love that though, so I didn't account the fries in my final rating. I would definitely try out their regular fries next time though! Menu versatility: this was the highlight of the restaurant and why I hesitated on writing a review until I was able to try more items (I ultimately decided to write it anyways and update it when I came back). At Arts, I love how many options you can get on the menu: from nuggets, onion rings, different types of fries, breakfast items, different sandwiches, to even having a boysenberry option for the shakes! All in all, I would definitely come back to try more items. If I could give this place a 4.5/5, I would, but I just wish the patty had that extra bit of seasoning.

We came here on whim trying to figure out what to do for dinner. It was so quick and easy to order via the drive thru since we live close by. The burger is a good size ans very similar to the size of in n out but has bacon. It was perfectly cooked and not greasy. This applied to the chili cheese fries as well which I split with my mom. It was a great dinner and it did not leave me with an overstuffed feeling. I definitely want to come back and try other items on their menu. It was chill and laid back and seating is outside under umbrellas.

Takes credit card. Outdoor seating. Drive through and sit down Breakfast burrito with egg and cheese. Get the large 4 egg. ($8.50) Add the potatoes ($1.50) it's so good cause they good all the ingredients together and mix them. So when you take a bite, you get a mix of every flavor. Breakfast burrito -Big john $11.50- all three meats and add the potatoes $1.50. super good, large size. Really good. I would get this again

Art's burger is back in business! So tell a friend! Recent News Article About The Shop: https://abc7.com/post/beloved-el-monte-restaurant-arts-burgers-reopens-huge-crowds-year-car-crashed-building/18256589/ Promotion: No promotions for now. Once they get back on to their feet, they'll start their hamburger special (Wednesday and Sunday) again. As for now, they're trying to recoup the money that they lost. Background On Visit: Two weeks ago as I I was driving on Valley, I noticed there was a long line and was excited to see that they've reopened. Credit Cards: They're accepted. They have a $0.62 or $0.63 surcharge. Ambiance/Decor: Looks the same as before! :) Service: Service is the same as before. Due to staff shortage, they're closed on Tuesdays for now. You might wait longer when it's busy, but they try to pump out burgers and other food items as fast as they can. Burger Of Choice: Got the basic hamburger (no seasoning on the patty and bun extra toasted. Brought back wonderful memories of how their burgers tasted like. Would be exponentially better when they bring back their hamburger special on Wednesdays and Fridays! :) Art's Burger For Thought: Will totally come back to patronize the shop.

    Onion rings!
    Mike L.

Reviews say they make their own onion rings and I believe that. Very tasty and crunch, even by themselves. For $4.10, this is a better value than any other onion ring places. 4.2/5 Yes their double cheeseburger tastes like In-n-Out because of the toasted bun, spread, fresh vegetables, and grilled onion (add both raw and grilled for max taste). The meat taste like the typical frozen patties you get at like maybe Rally's. Go here if you want a slightly cheaper In-n-Out clone ($5.90 vs $6.35) The boysenberry shake is so good, it's like a blueberryish shake with a hint of waffle cone taste. Very good for $3.55! I like that this place finally opened again but the drive-thru is long. Go park at the plaza and get your food upfront so you don't have to waste gas waiting.

Parking: I would park the parking lot next over and walk over to order at the counter. The drive through was insane on a Saturday 10 AM order. Hamburger with grilled onions: Yes, it's pretty much like In N Out but without the thousand island dressing. Buns were crisp, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the savoriness of the patty was just right. If you want to get your In N Out fix, come here. Small Big John burrito with potato (bacon, ham and salsa): The burrito wasn't that big but it can get you pretty full. The cheese was warm and the meats were nice and juicy. This does take longer to prepare because it's not one of the more popular choices.

If you're in the area and want to avoid the typical fast-food chains, Art's is a great alternative. That said, it's a bit of a mixed bag. It's better than a drive-thru, but "just okay" compared to other local favorites. The staff was standard but seemed distracted, and it definitely has that retro E-Z take-out atmosphere. Worth a stop if you're nearby, but the hype is a bit much.

Decided to come here to try out the burgers since there was quite a hype about it. The line moved pretty fast which is always awesome but besides that... I'm not sure if I'll come again. The girl taking my order wasn't the friendliest. Let her know it was our first time but she just kept a stoic face saying anything else anything else. We studied the menu beforehand but still weren't too sure. The other downside is the charge they make you pay to use your card. Come on now. It's 2026. The spread had too much onions. If you're into onions you'll def love this place. The hamburger wasn't anything special but it was not bad at all. Portions are super small. We barely got any French fries which was kind of a bummer tbh. Chili cheese fries were good too. Overall I don't think I'd come again. I'll just go to in n out. lol

Came here after seeing it all over social media. It seems like parking is hard since they only have a small lot. We were lucky and found parking on the street right in front. They do have restrooms in the back and I was actually surprised by how clean it was. Seating is only outside. We waited in line for about 40 mins on a Saturday night. The burgers were really good and the fries were equally as delicious.

I tried the hamburger with grilled onions and it was pretty good. The set up is like in n out. They have drive thru and dine in. You dine in outside on the benches. Service was good, staff were nice. There's a charge to use credit card so bring cash.

    Ashley M.

Considered an in n out drive thru knockoff type of location. I know that arts is a staple in El Monte and people cherish it dearly but I believe the quality definitely fell off after the reopening. There was both a long line for the drive through and walk up window, in total I waited about 40 minutes. Workers try to work fast but I don't think it was fast enough. Gave 2 stars for the burger itself and price, it wasn't so steep for a combo and the burger did redeem the wait. However the fries didn't make a combo feel like a combo as I was given the tiniest portion ever + they were stale & cold. This place definitely needs a step up post reopening.

Even though the place was buzzing with energy and clearly a local favorite, the team handled the weekend crowd seamlessly. The staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and fast, making the entire experience feel smooth from start to finish. Since there were five of us, we ordered a variety of dishes to share family-style, which turned out to be the best decision. The absolute star of the table was the pancakes--they are truly outstanding! They nailed both the texture and the flavor: golden on the outside, insanely fluffy on the inside, and rich without feeling overly heavy. The waffles were equally delicious, holding a fantastic crisp on the edges while remaining light in the center. To top it all off, the drink selection was top-tier. Whether you get their specialty coffees or refreshing iced beverages, or even hot tea. Every drink was crafted with care and tasted wonderful alongside the sweet and savory brunch items.
