Parking lot of the little plaza they're in, like most places in 626, is very busy, but at least there's decent parking underground. I was so excited to eat this again I forgot to take pictures both times I went back (back-to-back). I want to update my review to 4.6/5! Genuinely so yummy!! Still not in love with the parking situation but I got the food for takeout both times. It's easier to park at the top during non peak hours (weekdays) or after 8 pm in the plaza. Th first time I went back, I got the combo for 2 (2 sandwiches, 2 chicken gizzard skewers, 6 wings, 2 sodas, and fries), a taiwanese sausage, and an extra chicken sandwich for 3 people. This was so much food and all of it was so good. I will say the Taiwanese sausage was a little small but it was sweet and decent. I probably won't get it again though because I expected it to be a little bigger for the price and it was a little hard. The chicken sandwiches were delicious and super big. The patties themselves were well seasoned (both spicy and non spicy) and huge (sticking out the bun)! The wings were also nice and crunchy. The skewers were also pretty yummy to eat as well. I will say I still don't love the fries as they aren't that seasoned. I even order extra cumin ($.75) and for them to add it to the fries, but they were still pretty plain. I wish they made shake fries or seasoned them better. The second time I went it was already 11 pm and I was happy to see they were opened so late. It's nice to see something opened after 9pm in the SGV. I ordered popcorn chicken, fries, and a sandwich that came out fairly quickly. The popcorn chicken was yummy per usually and my sibling enjoyed the sandwich. I also got regular fries with my free points and although they had pepper seasoning, it was still plain. Wanted to try something new and this place popped up on my search. I'm glad we gave this a try as it was surprisingly quite good. The chicken patty in our burger was very juicy and thick. We really enjoyed them. We also ordered the regular hamburger, but I would recommend sticking with the chicken burgers. Our other favorite order was the This place a self-serve location. You order on your own at a kiosk and you'll only see the staff when they bring out your order. Parking can be tricky since its located in a very busy plaza. We parked in the neighboring street and walked around. The space has a few seating areas and there are many other things located in the plaza while you wait for your food. Tried Macho Burger recently and was honestly impressed by the chicken sandwich. Been wanting to come back again since I first tried Macho so came here for lunch while I was in the area. They have a self ordering kiosk and I ordered the Macho Crispy Chicken Sandwich (9.99). I did dine in and they have a couple tables inside to sit at. The food was ready in about 10 minutes which is quick. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, the chicken quality is as good as the first time I ate it. But maybe because I wasn't as hungry so it didn't taste as good. The chicken patty seemed a bit less juicy than last time though. But still a pretty good chicken sandwhich although pricier than other places, it does have an Asian taste to it compared to western places. I think this is still a good spot for crispy chicken sandwich in the SGV. I think the Monterey Park location tasted better though. read more

Its breading is cooked perfectly; the outer layer offered a thin, crackly crunch. The lettuce is fresh, and the sauce had a faint sweetness. I felt extremely happy as I bit into this massive sandwich. I had a dumb smile as I feasted. Regarding ambiance, Macho Burger (San Gabriel) is clean and comfortable. We visited this spot in the plaza next to where Tsujita used to be. Parking on a weekday night was easy, though I'm not sure how weekends are. We saw reviews saying the wait could be 30 minutes, so we called ahead and were surprised when they told us our food would be ready in 10 minutes. Sure enough, everything was ready when we arrived. The restaurant itself is very small. My son even asked why it was so tiny. The tables comfortably fit one person, maybe two at most, so we had to push two tables together just for our family of three. The fried chicken was juicy, well-brined, and perfectly fried. It wasn't as thick as the photos on Yelp, so maybe they've downsized a bit due to inflation, but the flavor was solid. I wasn't completely full, so I probably could've eaten two. FYI, the brioche bread is very airy and fluffy that it flattens really easily, making the sandwich smaller than expected. The Brimage bread is and made in house because we saw bags and bags on trays out in the open. But the brioche bread is so damn good. The popcorn chicken was spicier than expected. We ordered by phone and didn't know it was spicy, so my little one couldn't eat it. We also tried the fried fish sandwich. I'd give it 3.5 stars. It didn't really taste like fish, but the sauce and brioche bread made it enjoyable. I wanted to try their shrimp sandwich (the one that's often sold out) so I might return for that next time. Overall, the food was good, but I wouldn't dine in again because the space is so small and not ideal for groups. The lady on the register said I can dip it myself and it comes with powder. Waited maybe 10 minutes and during that time, the servers switched. my order arrived but it did not come with extra powder. I ate the chicken to test if it really needed more and YES it needed more. The second clerk told me that the chili powder is an extra charge. I REALLY don't think extra chili powder should be a charge. It's a seasoning... how are you going to make me pay for under seasoned food? I tried the spicy chicken sandwich which again was not spicy. It wasn't much of anything. I would call this burger... if popeyes chicken was drenched in cornstarch, fried, with slight chinese five spice. The single worst burger I've had in Alhambra. I went there this past midnight, based off the strong reviews. I believe these reviews are mostly plants. I waited more than twenty minutes for this "fast food" when I was the only person in the place at midnight. It was close to $30 for a burger, fries and drink. The fries were decent but that "truffle" burger was absolutely atrocious, and there was something off with the taste of the sodas in the soda machine. I'm not sure that was actually real beef. To make matters worse, the roof of my mouth has been feeling weird since then. Do not go. Applebee's is not far, and has a superior tasting ten dollar burger with fries. read more

There's been so many Asian fried chicken places popping everywhere and finally had the chance to try one out. It's a relatively small place with around 6-7 tables available for dining. It's very clean and decor is modern. There's a kiosk for ordering when you walk up to the counter. Ordering process is easy and food comes out in about 20 minutes. A LOT of people order ahead online for pick up so I assume that's why it takes a little longer for dine in and to go orders. Fried chicken chop 4/5 - I got the original flavor which may have been the wrong choice because there are 4 other flavors total to choose from. I felt like the flavors were a little muted and needed more seasoning. The chicken was really moist though. I would try it again maybe with another flavor. Spicy chicken wings 5/5 - definitely my favorite. Good flavors, seasoning. The crust is crispy and super addicting. Fries 3/5 - kind of the same complaint as the chicken chop, I felt that it lacked seasoning. I might give the curly fries a try next time.
