And for one of the very rare times, I wish I could add a sixth star to this place. I think my bartender was Erica, nice older woman. At least that's what it was on my ticket. Top notch hospitality. Place was super clean, they had sports playing on one TV, and had enlightening music playing on the other. This is the way all of America should be. I'm on my no carb kick, so I ordered two grilled pork chops with a side of their signature Brussels, and turnip greens. Hold on for a second, I just got done eating about a half an hour ago, and I just had to wipe the saliva off of my mouth while writing this. First of all, my entire meal was under $18. How these Alabama restaurants give you insane portion sizes, and still make a profit is beyond me. The rest of these restaurants in the country need to take note. My plate was huge, and even though it was my only meal of the day, I was still able to take a portion of my second pork chop back to the truck to enjoy tomorrow with my breakfast. The bartender told me that they hired her son as a cook. If this kid keeps slinging these skillets the way that he is, No doubt he will end up being legendary. My brussel sprouts were super good, my turnip greens were OFF.THE.CHAIN. I make collards at home, and this is the very first time I've actually had greens better than my own. I'm actually considering going in there and buying a quart to have on the truck with me. My pork chops? mannnn, If you know me, you know I cook, and these pork chops were nothing short of amazing. Crisp and crunchy on the outside, super super juicy on the inside, seasoned to perfection. This is the food that dreams are made of ladies and gentlemen. I wasn't going to have supper here tonight, because I still have leftovers from last night, but this is the south. If you have a little bit of intuition, you got to go all in, and then thank yourself later. One of the best meals literally that I've had, since early May. I hope this place keeps cranking out the caliber service and food they have, and I certainly hope I'm back in this part of Bama, Because I will definitely be returning. Five stars, just isn't enough. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. The steak was no where near 16 oz. You can get the same steak at Waffle House... seriously. It tasted a bit off, I only ate about a quarter of it. Super greasy. The baked potato was not fully cooked and chunky hard. BUT... the black eyed peas were great after I added salt, pepper, and vinegar to them. Maybe my expectations were too high on the food... maybe other items in the menu are better. This place gets an "eh"

As a first timer, I found their menu to be slightly confusing. I ended up with the rocket burger snack ( add bacon & tomato, no rocket sauce). It came with fries. My guest had the chicken finger basket. It came with fries and you could also pick baked beans, slaw or more fries. They opted for fries and slaw. Our food took a long time but like I stated , they were veryyyyyyy busy! We enjoyed our meal pretty well. The Rocket has been around since 1958, so it was pretty cool to have visited here while in town. Only knock , music too loud that it's hard to hear your number called. The staff were all really nice!

I was disgusted because last week on the way to TN we stopped and paid for 2 adult chicken tenders with fries and cokes. They gave us child's meals, 4 nuggets instead of 10. I was forced again to give all $30 of food to my 200 lb husband. Just skip Attalla, I contacted them and they don't care. April 8, 2025

When I got to the restaurant, I had to wait 15 minutes just to ask them if my food was ready, I then waited another 15 minutes before they didn't have the Mac 'n Cheese bites cooked. I asked if my fries and mozzarella sticks would be fresh too, to which I didn't get a response. Another 15 minutes later, and they had the Mac 'n Cheese bites in the bag, along with my mozzarella sticks, and even though the fries had been done, they still didn't give me my food. When I tried to ask any questions the short heavy set girl (in drive thru) gave me an attitude (repeatedly) along with everyone else that was waiting, and the older lady just kept saying that she just got there an hour ago. When I finally got my food, my fries weren't hot, the mozzarella sticks were like warm (and I only got 5 instead of 6), and the Mac 'n Cheese bites were also just like warm, even after I had to wait for them to be cooked! My Rueben was also cold, and had very little meat on it. Last night I waited 15 minutes to once again ask if my online order was ready and I still had to wait another 5-10 minutes to get my food. What's the point of ordering online ahead of time if you still have to wait 30 minutes at the store? I thought last night was an anomaly, but after tonight's far worse service, I suspect this is their normal service.

A restaurant doesn't get this kind of rep without the food to back it up. The staff was definitely not allowed to be their best because of the understaffing. This can affect their tips.

We came across this nice restaurant and decided to give it a try. We arrived just before the restaurant opened and had to wait, but it was well worth it. I ordered a cup of gumbo along with the shrimp and grits, and I thought I was dining down in New Orleans. It was some of the best gumbo I have eaten outside of Louisiana. We will definitely have to come back again sometime when we are passing through, or may just have to make a special trip over here.
