We had to find a real bakery after Lehi Bakery went downhill. We tried Jack's donut's today. We went a little later in the day and didn't expect Much of a selection. We were surprised that the selection was still really good. We tried the fruit filled tarts and donuts as well as cream filled. They were te best we have ever had. There are tables and chairs in case you want to eat in, and they have a great selection of beverages. The young man who helped us was friendly and helpful. This shop was the closest to my new job and I needed to pick up 3 dozen donuts for an employee appreciation at work. They were already open at 6am when I rolled into town, easy to find right off of State St. Greeted by, I'm assuming, the owner as soon as I walked in and asked how many donuts I would be needing. Ran through all the options and flavors they offer, which all smelled and sounded amazing. I gave them dealer's choice for which donuts I'd be purchasing and they gave me a pretty good array of the flavors they offer. After Jack's closed in South Jordan (closer to me), I was sad! The world needs more donut places, not less! But at least the AF location has held on-even if it's a bit out of the way for me to get to. I found myself in the area recently and made a stop. I had visited several months earlier only to find that my favorites were sold out (understandable, it was the end of the day). So I had lower expectations when I walked in around 4pm. However, I was elated to see my beloved glazed donuts still in the case. I snatched a few up, along with a random assortment to take to a party later that night. For four o'clock in the afternoon, there were an impressive amount left. The donuts were good-not as amazing as I had remembered them to be. That could be that it was nearly day-old by the time I got to it, so I give them some grace there. The girl behind the counter was friendly and got me taken care of quickly. The seating area is still closed, so don't plan to grab a treat and linger. But a nice box o'dozen to take back home and you can scarf them down in the privacy of your own home. This is such a sad review to write, as I wish this place can be better and can do better since it's close to home. Unfortunately, tried this place for the first time a few weeks back, and had the hope of them doing something right, but alas I was pretty disappointed (as well as the kids!). I love that they are open past the afternoon hour (as some donut places close after lunch to prepare for the next day), but their permanent extended hours (open till 8 pm, which is impressive for a donut shop!) does not do them any justice, as their donuts' quality is subpar. Came in here and the internal decor is pretty nice - the place looks clean, and everything in its place. They even have a nice wall presentation on one side of the wall, with bagged goodies, boxes displayed in an organized manner on shelves, and wooden framed art for purchasing. I purchased six donuts: maple bar, a twist, apple fritter, glazed, a fruit-filled donut of some sort, and glazed and tiger holes. I took a bite of each of the six donuts and threw away five of them. Each one tasted stale, dense, (in my opinion, a characteristic of a good donut should be somewhat fluffy), and just lack of genuine flavor from each specific donut. The kids ate the glazed donut holes and tiger holes, majorly because they are bite-sized, not because they were good in quality. Wasted my money on this first (and last time) visit. One of the owners was working and he was great. Couldn't have been nicer. Their donut selection is creative and fun. We were there at maybe 9:30 or 10:00am and they don't make them continually through the morning, so my own fault for not trying earlier when they are actually fresh. But they just tasted mediocre and are fairly pricey. None of us loved the key lime. The apple cobbler was all right. The Boston cream, lemon-filled, and peanut butter and chocolate were the three we liked the best, but, still, I'd say they are average tasting 10:00 a.m. donuts. And that's kind of disappointing given the cost and the creativity involved. read more

Such a cute place! We just moved into the area and got a free donut voucher in our welcome package so we had to try it. It is located in a strip mall off of 500 near the starbucks! The staff was so friendly and was super helpful. They have so many flavor options so if you want something simple or extravagant- they have both! I went with a classic blueberry cake donut and we also ordered a dozen donut holes! I think this is the perfect place for families or to grab a dozen donuts for your coworkers! We loved Jack's donuts! For me, it was worth the drive! E blueberry cream cheese donut was my favorite, with the apple fritter a close second. They have a good variety of flavors that aren't too weird and all the donuts are good quality and delicious. I'm so glad that I don't live in SLC.. if I did, we would make this our go to donut place! What a great place to get fun, sweet, eyes closed, big "YUM" donuts! Made this a spot that we had to try out while in SLC and so glad we did! We got half a dozen and several kinds. Each one was almost as good as the next! They are truly the perfect amount of sweet. Even if you have a HUGE sweet tooth like me, they have what you need. There is no skimping on their toppings, or the stuffed creme donuts. My favorite was the maple. I will say this: I have tried to visit before, during the hours it's open. But we rolled up and the very kind kid running the place said they closed due to "lack of customers." Apparently it's their policy to close if they go an hour without a customer. The kid was apologetic, but said it's the owner's decision. It's a cute-ish shop in American Fork. It has kinda of a corporate feel to it, but that can be ok. There's plenty of parking out front and it's a small little shopping area that gets overlooked. And the basics are all on display--glazed, sugar, chocolate covered, and on and on and on. It's pretty normal stuff, nothing too out of the ordinary, nothing crazy specialty like the herb-infused stuff this, or whiskey glazed that. But if you explore the red velvets or the cream-filled, it takes you a step beyond the norm. Apparently they've been in business for decades. These are good, solid donuts. The dough is dense and fragrant, and the ones that are filled are done so generously with super creamy fillings of a good, thick consistency- which I liked. The frosting was a little grainy, but the flavors were good. Three stars because they're good doughnuts with a nice homemade feel to them, but I would love to see some more interesting flavor combinations; or for the standard flavors to have a little more pizzazz to 'em. If I'm on the hunt for a more interesting experience, it wouldn't be my number one spot, but if I want to fix a craving, I would for sure hit this place up again. read more

I'm a donut snob, so when I find a donut shop that suits my pallet, I tell my friends and hide it from my enemies. Not this place, you can mix and match and price stays the same. 3) this place is open on Sundays?! for some of you it's not a big deal but for someone living here in you know that the only places here that are open on Sundays are either Walmart, Wendy's, mcDonalds... oh and 7Eleven. Last and def not the least, the most important part: their donuts are FRESH. Period. It almost feels like they melt in your mouth when you eat the donuts. You don't feel heavy after pounding those 24 donut holes, it's more like 'oh that's good I'm ready for the regular sized donuts!' and that guilt feeling after eating a donut, yeah you feel that but they are too good though. So?! The concept of Jack's Dozen is brilliant. Come to think of it, those donut holes are the results of the round donuts. It's not not like you intentionally create them from scratch, ok sure maybe, but instead of selling them as a separate item like Dunkin Donuts' munchkins, Jack's sell them as part of the dozen. read more

The flavors are all pretty delicious and they have a large selection. That said, for me personally, I like my donuts a little more light and airy. The donuts here were all pretty dense and cake-y. I also found that while the selection is really large, the variety isn't quite as huge as I would have expected for a display case with such a large footprint. Several of the donuts were variations of the same thing (red velvet cake donut vs red velvet donut with cream, strawberry and sprinkles stick vs strawberry and sprinkles ring, maple stick vs maple ring, for example). We tried Jack's Donuts on a Sunday morning (last Sunday actually). The big purple boxes are very fun and when we brought them into the house our daughter was excited and thrilled. We opened the boxes to find a huge assortment of all the best donuts and fritters etc that they offer. My personal favorites were the Bavarian Cream, the Jelly Filled and the Blueberry Cream Cheese and the Apple Fritter. The Fruity Pebbles was surprisingly good too. It was a nice mix of sweet soft donut ending with a crunch. The flavor was there for most of the donuts we tried, and as you can see in our pics, we tried a lot! The unfortunate thing was that the donuts tasted a day old. They didn't taste fresh. They weren't warm, which is understandable with so many options, but you can have freshness without warmth. Overall we did enjoy the donuts. We will be back, just plan to find out when they pull the donuts from the ovens so we're there when they are the freshest! read more

Tried several donuts here a couple times and can't like them. The staff is super friendly and it looks like a cool place, but I guess it's not my jam. Their texture is almost like they're stale? I buy them fresh and eat within an hour. We've tried cinnamon twist, creme filled, jelly filled, maple, fritter, and regular with the same result. Perhaps it's just the way they make them and I'm the weird one, that's ok. :) We go to Avenue Bakery west on State in American Fork or Fresh Market (even Walmart's donuts are better to us). read more
