Items missing that were paid for. Quality and service has gone downhill in my opinion

Rude, bland, and crap service. If you want to leave with what you want check your bag before you leave.

Aretha Frankensteins - My far the best pancakes I have ever had !

First time customer it was a great experience. Lived the pancakes and food was great 10/10. Believe…read moreme I'm picky but will definitely be back. One draw back I have is they said the patio was closed it was a great day it should've been open to allow more people to come and as a paying customer that option should be available. This is a big draw back for me.

The pancakes are the real star of the show here with the ambiance a very close second. The walls…read moreand ceiling were lined with vintage cereal boxes, movie posters, skeletons, and goblins. For all the tangible, retro, nostalgia-coated decor that calls back to a time when practical effects were how monsters were made it is so surprising then to see their merch emblazoned with AI slop. I wanted a shirt because I'm a sucker for glow-in-the-dark anything, but not enough of a sucker to buy the slop shirt. The biscuits were so-so, the gravy tasted like Cracker Barrel's (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just not what you'd expect from a place like this), but the fried potatoes and the pancakes were so good. I'll definitely skip the biscuits and gravy and just order the pancakes and potatoes if I make it back there again. Those were the standouts to me. The poor girls working the front of house were short staffed and being run ragged, but they were still very nice and attentive. It also seemed to be one of their birthdays unfortunately. This is such a cool little spot marred only by the fact that the wait times get crazy and some of their merch uses AI generated imagery

Bluegrass Grill - Black bean breakfast burrito with chorizo on the side

The food was so yummy - truly one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The toasted coconut coffee was recommended by our server in training and man he was right on. It was so good, and giant (pictured with butter and creamer for size comparison). I subbed the sides of the black bean burrito for chorizo and a slice of the Japanese milk bread French toast. I cannot overstate how good it was. My husband got the JM omelette and he said it was also delicious. Our bill with my substitutions was only $45. 10/10 recommend!!

Burger Week here in Chattanooga is a bit of an interesting happening. Bluegrass Grill is one of the…read morebest breakfast spots in town and here they are, a participant in Burger Week, while some of the best burger spots in town, don't participate at all. I enjoy when a restaurant "plays" outside their comfort zone, and feel a real need to support those spots that do. So today we visited Bluegrass and while I sampled their Burger Week entry, the rest of the table kept with the more traditional approach, breakfast. This is really a funky, eclectic little spot. Family-owned, it's always a beehive of activity, Small, packed inside with even a few community tables, they also have a couple tables outside on the street. Hey, and they even feature coffee from my favorite local roaster, Mad Priest. The flavors they opted to meld together for their Greek Freak Burger, were out there. There was a lot going on and you could absolutely pick up on some of those actual ingredients, starting first with their bun option, which was a Parmesan-sesame crusted sourdough. I liked the burger, it was a brave execution, and I had to fight off others at our table that wanted to sample it. Service is great, though on this particular day, food delivery was a bit slow......it may have had something to being on the Burger Week circuit. They have now expanded adding Sunday to their hours of operation. Be forewarned, there is likely to be a wait give its' status with the locals. It is worth the wait.

We decided to take a chance on Big Bad Breakfast during the Cornbread Festival and man, am I glad…read morewe did! I was a little hesitant since we were in a new town and everything was packed, but this place totally delivered. The omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor, and the French toast... well, I wasn't expecting it to be deep fried but holy cow it worked. Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, and absolutely addictive. The service was quick and friendly even with the festival crowds, and the vibe inside is fun and casual exactly what you want for breakfast. Portions are generous too, so we left stuffed and happy. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. We even walked over to the Lodge Museum afterward and made a whole morning out of it.

We were visiting Chattanooga and thought it would be fun to check out the Lodge Cast Iron Museum,…read moreso naturally we ate at Big Bad Breakfast while there. It was a random weekday morning, so it was really quiet. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. It's a casual place, with lots of tv's. I had a hard time choosing between the Yard Work Skillet and the Cornbread Omelet, but I figured where else would I find a cornbread omelet? It was SO yummy. I got the bacon on the side because I don't eat it, but there was a lovely amount of veggies and just the right amount of cheese. The cornbread eggs had such an interesting flavor. I got the cheese grits on the side which were a little spicy and deliciously creamy. My gf got a breakfast plate and thought it was good. The crispy hash cake was ok but a little dense. I ended up eating her biscuit the next day and it was really good.
