Unfortunately after a recent night out, my black blazer suffered a foot long rip right in the side. It felt like the end of the road for the blazer until my dry cleaners recommended this shop to me. I took the blazer to the shop, showed the man at the front desk and expected for him to call it a total loss. All the formals, 1/5th and Cuffs, and other memories I shared with this blazer would soon be wiped. But the man at the desk showed no discontent and said "15$, come back next Wednesday". I was ecstatic to hear this amazing news and felt a higher powers presence in that alterations shop. After a week, I returned and extracted my blazer which was now returned to its former glory. All in all, I cannot recommend this shop enough and hope others can have as pleasant and spiritual of a journey as I once did. read more

This is a great option for alterations in Columbia and is one of my go-tos. They're very business-like and efficient. I went in today with two shirts and two pairs of jeans to get altered, and I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes and all four will be ready in three days. I have gotten several garments altered there over the years and each time I've been pleased with the work and price. The only drawback is that the dressing rooms are pretty dirty and could use a good deep cleaning. But if you can look past that you'll be happy with the work they do. read more

Jackie's staff continually turns out exact work at a fair price. My family has been a customer for 20 or so years. Turnaround is 3-7 days typically, but Jackie will budge on simple jobs. Parking is simple: three spots are reserved right in front (off busy Forest Drive, where I go). There is at least one other Jackie's store in the metropolitan area. As an African American i will not be supporting his business anymore. Not only am i up charged but I was not given the same respect as others. When walked in i was not greeted just told to go change. While as when other walked in they were highly greeted and talked to. Don't get me wrong his work is exceptional but if I'm going to spend my money somewhere I want to spend it where it's valued! read more

Went to get a jacket and pants altered for an event for New Years and they said it would be ready by Tuesday. Could not get the pants on the agreed day because "the other shop did not bring it" and tried on my jacket and it feels and looks the same as It did when I originally dropped it off. They got me out of a huge pickle. My dress needed to be let out 2 inches at one part and taken in at another. It was a complete mess. Plus, it was one week before I was a bridesmaid in a wedding. They do such a great job! I got my J Brands and 7s taken in and hemmed, and I couldn't be happier. They also were able to completely redo my Lilly dress which was too long and big when I purchased it. It looks perfect! They also altered my BCBG dress for a wedding and I couldn't be happier. The best part is, they are so honest. There were three of shorts that could not be taken in because it would have "bunched up" in the back. Instead of just going ahead and doing it and making the extra money, they explained why they couldn't do it. read more

Great place for alterations -- I've taken two dresses to be taken in and they did a great job in less than a week. Each dress cost $25 and needed a decent amount of taking in. Took two pairs of pants where the hems fell out and they charged $4 a pair. Can't beat it! read more

I have never left a review in my life. But my issues with this place have been so bad, I feel like I should let people know. I ask them to hem my dress, take in the shoulders, and provide some snaps or pens or extra fabric or anything to deal with the bust of my dress that I was literally busting out of. They said this was no problem and they could absolutely do it. I gave them an extended period of time to do this, I brought in the dress about two weeks in advance. They had it ready at the end of that two weeks, and I went to go pick up the dress, and They had only added one hook to the chest area, that did not fix any of the problems, but left a gaping hole instead. I had to get on a plane in two days with this dress to be a maid of honor in a wedding. And it was not ready. Not even close. So, I asked them if they could add more hooks or so or do anything to fix the bust of this dress. They said they would add more hooks and it would look great, and it wouldn't be an issue. I come back less than 24 hours after I have to get on the plane, when they tell me that the dress is ready. I try on the dress, and all of the snaps are coming undone, I am still busting out of the dress, and nothing has been fixed. I now have a ruined bridesmaid stress, and I have to be at the wedding in less than 24 hours. This is absolutely ridiculous, and I Paid $85 to have one of the services I requested just not completed at all. I wish they would've just told me that they couldn't take care of what I needed, and I would've taken the dress somewhere else and have plenty of time to get all of the alterations done. But instead of being honest and telling me that they couldn't help me, they wasted my time and my money. I had to bring in my screaming baby multiple times during the week to try on the dress again and have them adjust it multiple times. Only to have nothing work in the end. I am incredibly frustrated, and just absolutely heartbroken that this dress that I spent so much money on I am not going to be able to wear. This leaves me with about 12 hours to find a new dress to wear, so wish me luck! read more

Took a bridemaid's dress here and they did not actually alter the dress. I got it back in the same exact condition as when I took it. It was $40. We then took my husband's suit pants. When we got them back, they were way too short. Seriously, how do you mess up hemming pants?! Stay away, far,far away!!! read more

Took my bridesmaids dress here to have it altered. It only took 1 week (David's bridal said 2) and it is absolutely perfect. My husband is in the military and needed patches put on. Unfortunately we were in a time crunch and needed them done that day and on base they had appointments going out 4 weeks. I explained my predicament to one of the men that works here and he said no problem. He knew the regulations for the patches, had them done in 1 hour AND he did it for free. My heart melted that he would so kindly do it that day - let alone do it for free. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs alterations! Very satisfied. read more

I needed a bridesmaids dress altered and they did a wonderful job. I took way less time than I expected and wasn't as expensive as expected.

**STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE** I read reviews on this establishment, and had high hopes. I brought my satin wedding dress there to have a bustle added, corset back added, and to have it hemmed. I came back 3 weeks after initially dropping my BRAND NEW TAGS STILL ON DRESS off to find pin pin holes and snags in the satin material on the train. The bustle eye hooks were a steel gray color and were very visible. They were not even hidden in a seam, and was told by an employee that "she didn't know why it was done that way". Three visits later with promises that the dress would be fixed- I undo the bustle and find blue stains on the train from them trying to press/steam the snags out. I demanded a full refund from what I had already paid and a refund for the dress itself. I go to pick up my dress and refund to learn that they keep the dress "because it's their policy and tee dress still has value, and they need to ensure their seamstress gets paid." So your telling me that I can't have my property back, and she got paid to ruin someone's wedding dress??? Not to mention the wedding is in 30 days. Jackie & employees can GFY! read more
